Amon sat on the rooftop of the mansion, his eyes fixed on the sky. The stars twinkled brightly, scattered across the dark canvas like diamonds.
He couldn't shake off what Eucraick had told him earlier. He was desperate for answers, but he knew he had to wait. Sleep eluded him, so he chose the solace of the night sky instead.
The roof was his sanctuary, a place where he could momentarily forget his troubles and simply exist. Tonight, the stars seemed especially beautiful, their light soft and soothing. He took a deep breath, letting the cool night air fill his lungs, hoping it would bring him some peace.
As he lay back, lost in thought, the sound of a door opening caught his attention. He glanced down to see Lilith stepping out of the mansion.
'Lilith? Why is she out tonight?'
She had a shawl wrapped around her, draped over her most comfortable clothes. She looked up, her eyes meeting his, and for a moment, they simply stared at each other.
