THE GOD SURFACES AGAIN

------------------~[ROSE'S POV]~---------------------

I take a deep breath and look at my image in the mirror after completely washing my face. All done. Finally going around without makeup. Well. It doesn't look bad though. But I kinda feel incomplete without my makeup.

I am still washing my hands when the door to the restroom opens and I turn to see Brittany. I sigh and walk up to the hand dryer.

“Uh…Rose I…..“

I switch on the loud noisy hand dryer and she had no choice but to wait. I stop it and examine my hands.

“So I…..“ She begins but I switch on the hand dryer again. She sighs and waits.

After a long while, I stop. “Look. I'm really sorry Rose. Come on. You can't keep hating me forever. I never had an idea that that was all Skylar's attempt to ruin our association.“

I chuckle and nod. " Exactly. But the fact that you chose to listen to her over your best friend is quite annoying. You should have thought about that.“ I say and walk up to the exit.

" Hey wait.“ She says and holds my hand. " Look. I'm really sorry Rose. I messed up. Yes. Big time. I'm sorry. I made a mistake.“

I raise an eyebrow at her. " I will forgive you on one condition."

She snorts. “Great. There goes. I'm gonna have to take your clothes to the dry cleaners again.“

I chuckle. " Hell no. Pfft. I'm done doing that. What I wanted to say is that you will take my place as a latecomer and buy lunch today.“ I say with a beam.

She looks at me and blinks. " Uhh…. I think carrying your clothes to the dry cleaners is much more preferable.“ She says and I laugh.

I shake my head and place my arm on her shoulder. “It's alright. I can't really bring myself not to forgive my friend. Skylar is a bitch for ever attempting to get in between us.“

She sighs. " I'm sorry I fell for her tricks."

I wave her off. “Come on. Forget that. It's all in the past now.“

" So. Back to class now right?“ She asks.

I sigh. Uurgh. Back to boring physics class..I sigh. “You know what? I'm not really feeling the class anymore. I'll just hang around till it's over.“ I say and she looks at me wide eyed.

" Are you kidding me, Rose? This is the fourth time you are skipping physics class this week. Don't you think it can affect your GPA?“

I scof. " No. What could go wrong? Besides, I do hate that class." I mutter.

She sighs and observes me for a while. " How the hell are you even my friend?" She asks and I laugh.

I hold her hand. “Come on. Let's take a little walk. It won't hurt.“

She growls. “Shit. I'm supposed to be having a class.“ She wails and I chuckle. " I can't believe I'm coming with you."

I pull her out of the restroom towards the campus park. I take in a huge amount of fresh air. “Damn. Nothing like the great outdoors." I mutter. As usual, thoughts of Christian Jake returns swimming into my head and I sigh. I thought of what he would be up to now. How would he be feeling about rejecting his proposal? I hate to say it but, I am really dying to see him again. If only I hadn't gone to that show. Maybe my feelings for him won't have gotten this far.

I have no idea that Brittany has been examining me as we walk along the park.

“Let me guess, you are thinking of Jake isn't it?"

I snap my head towards her direction. " What?“

She chuckles. " Don't lie to me. I know expressions of love when I see one.“

I chuckle and shake my head. " Enough with the fantasies Brittany. It's not possible.“

" Yeah. But you want it.“

I chuckle and bite my lip. " No. I don't.“

" Come on.. you are talking to your best friend here. Don't you dare lie to me. You like him don't you?“

I find myself blushing hard. " Quit it Britt. I don't okay. Let it be." I say but damn she's a relentless bitch.

She wiggles her eyebrows at me. “Come on. Why don't you be a good girl and admit your feelings for the almighty irresistible Christian Jake.“

" Brittany, I………."

A stampede ensues from nowhere and I and Brittany look around quite confused. Dozens of campus students,. mostly girls, are all running to a certain direction of the school park.

“What the hell are we missing?" Brittany asks and I shrug.

“I have no idea Britt.“

We both walk up and follow the crowd of squealing girls and shouting fellows towards the spot of attraction and I can swear my heart paused the moment we got there. I gasp and swallow hard..

Brittany looks at me and glances ahead. “Oh wow. Isn't it a surprise? Christian is here." She mutters.

I take a deep breath. " I have to go.“ I say immediately and turn.

“Hey come on. Don't be shy now. You have been thinking of him all day. Go meet him now.“ Brittany says and pulls me back.

SHIT!!

She tries to push me through the crowd towards Christian who certainly looks bored as the large numbers of ladies surround him striving for his attention. He seems to be looking for someone.

Shit. My heart is pounding so hard right now, I'm sure anyone can hear it within a mile radius.

“Oh no. I can't." I say immediately and turn against Brittany.

" Uhhh….I think that's quite late, Rose. He's looking at you. You can't ignore him now.“

I scoff. She's bluffing. There is definitely no way he would spot me amongst this large crowd. Still. I can't help it. I slowly turn and sure enough, Christian Jake is staring at me with extremely beautiful crystal blue eyes flashing me the most irresistible charming smile I've ever seen.

Oh crap.

My heart races three hundred beats per second. I gulp down hard. I can't do this. I'm just gonna pass out.

I turn and run away with every single strength within me till I get to a quiet section at the back of the campus building.

I relax against the wall and take quick deep breaths placing my hand on my chest. Jeez. It feel like my chest could burst any minute from now. That guy really had me on the edge.

I find it hard to even breathe when I'm around him. Oh God. I shut my eyes and breathe hard trying to catch my breath taking in the cool morning breeze blowing against my face.
