Tomorrow

Today is the last day of my current life, from tomorrow my mission starts. I'm leaving this god-forgotten place behind and moving to the capital to educate the young generation of the ruling class. Violence is never the solution, and I'm going to teach that to as many future leaders as possible. So, nobody would have to go through the same things I once did. That's the destiny I've chosen for myself. Of course, I could go the other way around and fulfil revenge for my family, home, and my whole kind and make my enemies drown in their blood, but would it change anything? Nope. It would only create more orphans and widows. I've chosen the path of light, where the angel of death will be forever suppressed.

„ANASTASIIIA, come on, what takes you so long? "

Yep, my future is going to be bright, but it will start only tomorrow.

„ANASTASIA, IF YOU WON'T BE HERE AT FIVE, I WILL COME UPSTAIRS AND DRAG YOU DOWN BY YOUR HAIR. "

Ok, that's got my attention.

„FIVE "

I quickly check my appearance for one last time.

„FOUR "

Curly silver hair is tied into a bunny and dusted with a powder so that they look grey and dull. My full lips which are normally almost velvet red are camouflaged with lipstick in a beige colour. And the dress I'm wearing is at least two times as big as it should be, so my body seems shapeless and not worthy of a second glance. Perfect. Nobody would pick me as a nymph.

„THREE "

With a smile of approval, I'm heading toward the door, but with the movement, I catch a glimpse of something golden in the mirror. Fuck. My eyes.

„TWO "

I quickly scan the room. Where are the drops? Where are they?

„ONE. OKAY, YOU ASK FOR IT. "

Finally, I see them, but I also hear the terrifying sound of furious steps on the stairs. Let it be quick. I put two drops in each of my eyes and hide the container just as the doors burst open.

„What do you think, you doing? Keeping me waiting for so long. I'm not here just for you, and the celebrations already started. And also, what does it take you so long to get ready, when you look this gorgeous by nature? Trying to gain all men's attention for yourself again? Gosh, what a naughty best friend I have. "

Meet Cynthia, the most frightening creature who ever walk in this world and the very best person I've ever known. We grew up together and she's practically my sister. But, luckily, not by blood. I wouldn't wish my life on anybody.

I give her my innocent smile. „I'm sorry Cyn, I must have forgotten the time again."

„Yeah, you tend to do it very often. And now come!"

Tomorrow might bring me a new life, but today evening's going to be the best farewell possible.
