The stony giants nodded in unison and one of the double doors slid forward, allowing a striking young vampiress to glide through the narrow gap. Upon closer inspection, I wasn't exactly sure if this person was male or female.

 

With sleek violet hair cut short at the nape of their neck, this person possessed features both boyish and feminine. Their eyes mirrored the head maid's, but unlike her stern demeanour, this person had inviting violet eyes against a dark backdrop.

 

Clad in a pristine white suit, they lingered at the entrance, extending a hand toward me, a warm smile gracing their lips.

 

"Don't be shy. I won't bite," she said. I wasn't sure, but their voice was feminine enough for me to assume that this person was a woman.

 

I remained rooted to the spot, and while the guards' faces remained a passive mask.
