My heart pounded as I let out an involuntary shriek and I quickly slapped my hands over my mouth to stifle the scream. I stumbled back and tripped over my foot to crash to the floor. The curtain had slipped back into place, but I hadn't been mistaken. I wasn't seeing things either.
