¬ HILN

Diana wasn't stupid. When she started noticing something was wrong, I used my essence to take her mind off it, to let her believe she was tired and seeing things likely because of her dwindling fear.

I was barely able to hold myself together and that action did not come without consequences.

It was early evening, I had managed to just learn the basics in a few hours. I only managed to learn the alphabet and the characteristics of the Lunar tongue as Dalia called it, and I was unable to move from the small study desk in her sleeping chamber.

And right when I had used my essence on her to wipe her suspicion away, she suggested we retired and I would return the following morning as she couldn't keep up. I thanked her but my legs were numb and I couldn't stand.
