I crept into the so-called library without their notice—even the all-so-perceptive Effer. This was becoming far easier than I expected with each growth. But again, there were limits and while I wasn't noticed by the others, Hiln paused at my entrance but didn't spare a glance in my direction.
I at first grew irritated and then got annoyed at myself for being irritated over something so stupid. It then took me a little more focus that she was so engrossed in herself that she clearly couldn't sense me. And she seemed rattled, and slightly tired from her sloped stance and wavering eyes.
My brow twitched. She ought to rest. I didn't care if she had new abilities or whatnot. Her powers were growing tremendously and her body was slow in catching up. She was born a human getting accustomed to a deity's force, and she had been human for most of her life. Of course, it wasn't going to go smoothly.
