"…she …sleep…"
My departure from the vision was sharp and my return to reality felt like a hazy blur. My vision shimmered and my ears buzzed. I wasn't even sure if I was seeing another vision until I was able to hear snippets of Effer and Maybelle's voices through my shifting consciousness.
Needless to say, it was an unpleasant sensation, and not one I would like to go through again.
Someone grabbed me by my shoulders and a sudden electric jolt brought me to my senses fully. I shook my head and cleared my throat, a slight headache beginning to form.
"Can you hear me now?" Effer's voice was loud and clear.
"Yes?" I looked up, the chamber brighter than usual. I blinked, trying to regain full focus on my sight, but the brightness wouldn't fade. "My eyes. Everything is—"
The vivid colours ebbed and I sat up, my hand still on my head.
"I am sorry for the discomfort I put you through. I didn't expect for that to happen."
