Chapter 22

The time devil continued to enter the building dispatching those who were still on hold. Hijoshiki knew how to run the building, making sure everything was in check. She was smart about her time, using it to its fullest extent.

Hijoshiki: "Ocha, you may accompany us if you like, it's your choice"

Ocha nodded, continuing to follow Hijoshiki. Making sure the rest of the group (Koryu,Felix, and Ryuki). Eventually, after climbing flights of stairs and taking elevators, they made it to the corner office, Hijoshikis Office. From a couch, a familiar looking fiend jolted up and stared at Ryuki

Kirin: "RYUUUKI! THEY TOOK SO LONG GETTING YOU!"

She already sprung up and clung onto him staring into Hijoshiki's eyes.

Kirin: "You didn't try anything, DID YOU!" She then looked up to Ryuki "she didnt flirt with you right"

Koryu and Felix just looked at each other confused and slightly weirded out.

Whispering Koryu: "Do Yuta and I act like that-"

Felix: "hell no-"

Ryuki just continued to look forward, barely responding to Kirin.

Ryuki: "no."

He watched as Hijoshiki would take a seat on her office chair, one that was a lot nicer than anything else in the room. She put her elbows on the desk and her hands on her chin before speaking.

Hijoshiki: "So this... fiend, is your romantic partner? You could honestly do better than that."

A small glimpse into Hijoshikis joking side, but it was a one of dislike towards the lightning fiend. Ryuki did not confirm nor deny who Kirin was to him and just continued to look forward.

Ryuki: "We're here to discuss a deal, not you insulting Kirin"

Hijoshiki: "Right, now then. Explain to me exactly how you transform into Dragon Knight"

Ryuki shook his head, not allowing her to toy with him and do what she wanted.

Ryuki: "I'm not revealing that information to you. We're here for a deal, that's it."

Hijoshiki frowned slightly before she opened the drawer to her desk and held up a throwing knife. She watched it glint in the light from the window touching the tip with her fingernail before throwing it directly towards Kirins neck. Ryuki jolted up and practically ripped his arm bracelet as his arm transformed into the dragon-like head for his left hand and pointed it point blank at Hijoshiki. Felix then unsheathed his Katana as well as Ocha grabbing one of his halberds ready to defend Hijoshiki if needed. The tension in the room was thick, and right as the knife was about to pierce into Kirins neck, it stopped, frozen in time.

Hijoshiki: "You went to the lengths of exposing a secret for Kirins life? You must really care for this 'partner' of yours"

Hijoshiki then grabbed the knife that was frozen in time and put it back in her desk seeing as Kirin was breathing heavily. Ryukis hatred for the woman grew; she played him like a fiddle, and he was supposed to be the lawyer.

Hijoshiki: "Come on Suoh, I wouldn't kill her for no reason. I needed that information from you in case you ever stepped out of line"

Ryuki: "quit the fucking mind game and tell me exactly what you want"

Hijoshiki: "I want you to kill the train devil."

She was very direct with what she wanted, as it was a devil that the public safety office had trouble with for a while now.

Hijoshiki: "you already fought it once, all I need now is for you to destroy it." She then counted on her fingers for a moment "Kill the train devil, and I forget you attacked Felix and Koryu." She held out her hand again just like when they first met. "Of course you won't do this alone, Kirin and everyone in this room, excluding myself and Koryu, will be right there with you."

Ryuki looked around, seeing the other people in the room. He had to do this, not just for his own sake but for Kirins.

Ryuki: "And if I complete this mission of yours, you leave me the hell alone?"

He just thought about how much he sounded like his father, leave me the hell alone leave me the hell alone.

Hijoshiki: "oh, well no. You are still going to work for us, but more of… a special unit. I'll call you in when we need you and if we don't, you're free to do whatever you like"

This sucked, but it was the only way. Ryuki thought about the things that led up to this moment, how he had the power of Shinryu… if he was somewhat a part of the devil hunting agency then… what he would be doing is fully legal. He sighed and then took the hand of Hijoshiki, gripping it tight as he shook it. A deal has been made.
