Chapter 84 A monster underneath

'Why did I have to grab that stupid sword' I sat in class trying not to fall asleep my mind far more exhausted than my body but as a consequence of that, my more monstrous instincts were far harder to control.
Right now I was [Enderman] the only one of my monsters that wasn't telling me to kill all the noisy prey around me and fall asleep, But I was having a really hard time fighting the instinct to just teleport away or to the End. Now some might wonder why I don't just become human well because I would probably pass out from the mental exhaustion.
But being an [Enderman] also meant I had to actively avoid looking people in the eye which became annoying very quickly, as I sat looking down at my desk doodling I felt a tap on my shoulder looking over I saw Jean giving me a worried look and held up a note 'Are you ok?', I smiled and gave her a thumbs up but by the look on her face, she didn't believe me.
The date with Jean went well I gave her a tour of New York on my [Duel Runner] and saw a movie after, once we got back to her place we just hung out and talked and I got first-hand experience of how crazy a house with mutants teenagers could get.
*Flashback*
As we sat on the couch talking Kurt teleported into the kitchen undisguised listening to music I pretended not to notice and I don't think Jean noticed since she has her back to the kitchen and I was side on.
Suddenly Kitty phased through the front door only to stop seeing Kurt dancing undisclosed in the open kitchen with headphones on then looked at me and Jean talking on the couch unaware, she quickly rushed and tackled Kurt to the ground causing Jean and me to look over.
Kitty: "You idiot Max is right there and your dancing around undisguised in the kitchen!?" she whispered yelling I heard the click and standing up was a disheveled Kitty with an awkward smile and Kurt now disguised waving to the both of us.
Jean: "Kitty Kurt what's going on?" she asked with a raised eyebrow
Kurt: "Nothing just grabbing a quick snack isn't that right kitty?" she nodded quickly and she began to push Kurt out of the kitchen and up the stairs.
Kitty: "Yeah sorry to bother you on your date we'll be going now," she said as they made their way upstairs I heard Kitty berate Kurt and I couldn't hold back a smile.

After a few more minutes class ends and we're off to lunch after getting my food I found my spot with the X-men.
Evan: "Max you feeling alright you look a little. . . ." he dragged out trying to find the right word.
Kitty: "Tired?" Kitty suggest and Evan nodded I merely shrugged not looking up from my food.
"I didn't get much sleep last night," I said I felt a pat on my back which I knew was Kurt just then a commotion was heard outside, then the cafeteria doors flew open and a river of sand came crashing in. For a moment the screaming and panic were right next to me the next moments I was in a bathroom stall.
"What just happened?" I said looking around my tired mind trying to catch up to the current situation.

"Welp hope no one saw me," I said sarcastically getting up I opened the door and saw the bathroom was covered in sand.
[Most likely everyone was distracted by the sudden attack than the one kid in the corner of the room]
Teleporting outside of the school I saw the school was surrounded by a cloud of sand as I looked around the area I heard emergency services in the distance.
[So do you have a plan you don't have a water or aquatic monster to fight the sandman?]
"Then find me one quickly Tron," I equipped my classic armor and my namesake monster I flew down and entered the school.

I purchase using my system points and immediately transform into [Greater Water Elemental] as I enter the school I find students and teachers pressed against the walls and lockers held in sand cacoons.
"Oh thank god a hero is here!" a teacher yelled out.
"Who is it?" one unlucky student said their face against the wall.
"It's Nightfury I saw him with Spiderman on tv," another student said.
I quickly applied water to each cacoon turning the sand into mud, I made my way to the cafeteria to find the place covered in sand and everyone trapped in hardened sand cacoons.
Peter: "Nightfury Sandman he took Harry," he said frantically quickly applying water to everyone I looked around using [Observe] finding no sign of Sandman himself or Harry Osborn, " he created a small whirlwind and carried him away."
Looking around for a bit and transforming into my best trackers I couldn't find either scent which made scene since one was made of sand and the other covered in said sand.

'Yeah I don't think I want to become a literal soulless monster made by a dark god to kill and destroy humanity and their creations, while I am very tired and don't know how much I can keep my instincts suppressed,' as I looked around emergency services arrived helping any injuries and stopping students and teachers to get statements eventually a group of three officers walked up to me but the one in the middle had my attention.

Norman: "Who is in charge here and where is my son?" he said in a cold voice, which made the policeman he addressed flinch and look back to George Stacy who sighed and walked over to deal with Osborn. As continued to find nothing I felt my vision go blurry for a second and my mind wander.
'What am I doing wasting my time looking for Harry Osborn future Goblin when I could be at home with the little ones or in my bed asleep'
I nodded my head that did sound nice.

"Yeah I'm fine" I snapped back to reality looking around "Why do you ask?"
[You stopped moving and started nodding up and down it was kind of creepy]
"Ok, I need to go to bed" I was about to teleport away when I heard a shout looking back I saw Norman yelling something then after a moment I figure out he was yelling at me.
Norman: "We'll what are you going to do to find my son I demand an answer!" George Stacy tried to silence him but Norman acted like he wasn't even there. "Or is the Bugel right about all you masked vigilantes and your all nothing but menaces getting in the way!"
George Stacy: "Mr. Osborn im going to have-" he was about to say but the commotion gain the attention of the crowd around the school to them so Norman turned to address them
Norman: "My son has been kidnapped and yet none of these so-called heroes were there to stop it," he said and the crowd murmured amongst themselves "And now that one has arrived too late their just as useless as the police are in apprehending the criminal" now I saw the glint of cameras and the news vans starting to arrive.

I press accept but the anger, rage, and fury of my monsters no matter which one I select it's still there the anger building up ready to burst.

The next second I was in a familiar location I recognized as Lumeria the spot Tron picked was where the fantastic four jets crashed, and where I picked flowers with Susan looking around I saw Divients scavenging it they saw me immediately and pointed weapons at me.
"Leave. . .Run Away . . . I ₵₳₦'₮!" they surrounded me and yelled at me but I couldn't hear them I was too focused on controlling my anger trying to keep it under control.
