Chapter 3 - Judgement

Now. Kahndaq. U.S. Military Base.

Mylo fell asleep as he waited. But he awoke when he felt his arm shake. He opened his eyes and saw the young woman eating some food. It looked like local cuisine, he could feel eyes on him and looked around. Noticing the several people looking in from windows he sighed. It has only been an hour but he was still feeling impatient.

Then heard yelling and shouts as the people from the windows moved away and Mylo could hear the sound of a jet landing. The young woman ignored it and kept looking at Mylo while eating her food. Then Mylo heard the medical brig door open and he glanced over to see Wonder Woman look around the room until she saw the young woman and then she walked over.

"Supergirl, what are you doing here? Why didn't you fly back?" Wonder Woman asked as she stood at the end of Supergirl's bed.

But the young woman just tilted her head in confusion, "who?"

Wonder Woman frowned and then looked at the man who was sitting next to her and she was holding the arm of. But before she even got a chance to ask a question he answered her.

"I found her in a crater in the middle of the desert with a head injury. She appears to have amnesia." Mylo explained as he rubbed his nose in nervousness.

Wonder Woman nodded, "okay. In that case I will need to take you back with me. Will that be okay?" She seemed to be a mix of worried and curious.

The young woman puffed up her cheeks and then looked at Mylo for assistance. Mylo nodded, "this woman knows you. It should be safe to go with her."

"Mmm…" The young woman seemed to think for a moment, "can you come too?" Wonder Woman tilted her head in confusion with an expression of surprise.

Mylo shook his head, "nope. I have things to do and so do you I believe."

The young woman seemed hesitant, "but-" She looked like she didn't know what to say.

Mylo chuckled and grabbed a piece of paper and put his contact information on it, "if you are that worried you can contact me with this slip of paper once you get your memory back." Handing it to her she let go of his arm and nodded. Mylo smiled at her and then walked out of the medical brig.

Six Years Ago. Location: Unknown.

"I will forgive you and your friend's transgressions on one condition and one condition only. You and your ally have to fight and survive for two years as opponents for my new recruits. You may even learn a few tricks of your own." The man with the green armor was called, The Demon's Head or Ra's Al Ghul by his subordinates.

"How can we trust you will keep your word?" Scarlett asked as Mylo assessed the situation they were in. They had been here only a few days but they were treated fairly. They were fed and allowed to bathe if need be. Even their cells were fairly comfortable.

"Miss Scarlett Fenix, I am not a dishonest person. I abhor lying. Besides, as far as I can tell you have no choice in the matter." Ra's waved his hand at his assassins that were standing around the room.

Scarlett nodded, "that is fair. Then I guess we have no choice but to graciously accept your offer."

Ra's chuckled at Scarlett's slight sarcasm leaking out. He waved his hand, "then take your friend back to your shared cage. He needs to heal, but I will call on you soon. I have a new crop of warriors I wish to test that are coming in."

Now. Kahndaq Airspace. On a military flight to the U.S.

Mylo shook off his nerves as he looked over the document he was given as in flight entertainment. This really was an Omega level situation.

A nuclear bomb was stolen from the military. They have several suspects, but as soon as they find their target they want Mylo and Scarlett to intercept it. Scarlett's new squad will be following them in. Hopefully they were as good as she said they were, she has been training them for the last six months while she plays desk jockey for Mylo. As well as sharpening her skills in hacking.

Mylo set the file aside and instead started to put together his gear so he would be ready when he landed.

Now. Space. Justice League Watchtower.

The young woman looked around hesitantly and scared while Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter scanned her. She held tightly onto the piece of paper she was given by the nice handsome man. After Wonder Woman brought her here they started to scan her, she didn't know how she knew what they were doing. But she knew that that was what it was.

"Diana, the scans indicate a magically powered attack struck her head. Causing her amnesia and a concussion. You were right, something is wrong. We haven't been able to get a hold of Superman in over a day, now Supergirl appears but is injured. We are going to need more help, is Batman available?" Martian Manhunter asked as he looked at the scan.

"Hmm… I will call and ask. But last I checked he was having problems of his own in Gotham with a particularly flamboyant character called, 'Hush'. Either way we can call in Question and possibly Dr. Fate as well, then Shazam if we really get desperate. But I doubt Billy, or rather Shazam, will know anything." Wonder Woman's answer was expanded further with alternate solutions.

"Hey, can I get up now?" the young woman asked.

"Yes, you may." Martian Manhunter answered.

"I can watch her, call in Question and Dr. Fate. Also send an alert out to the other league members. This might be the first step of a multi-step plan." Wonder Woman pointed out as she walked towards Supergirl. "Come along little sister, let's get you comfortable."

The young woman nodded while following along with Wonder Woman.

While Martian Manhunter went to the Monitor terminal and sent out an emergency message with an appraisal of the situation attached.

Six Years Ago. Location: Unknown.

For Mylo and Scarlett it was another day of combat and fighting, at this point they were used to it. They would fight the new recruits of the League of Assassins. Then they would rest and fight again. They even started picking up a few of the assassins' martial arts and new moves. It had been over a month since they were captured.

"Father, why did you let those two live?" Talia asked her father as they watched a bout from a raised area hidden in shadows. "It is very unlike you. Especially since they tried to steal from you."

"Daughter of mine, when you look down there what do you see?" Ra's asked as he waved at the two fighting for their lives.

"Two thieves sent by the U.S. to steal what is yours." Talia answered simply.

"Wrong. They are two warriors-no two knights that were used like pawns. According to the men that were captured and interrogated they were on assignment from the government." Ra's shook his head in disappointment. "But I looked into it, none of the various governments that know about us, never sanctioned a mission. But their commander and several others were paid off to make it look like it because these are some of the best of the best. I still haven't managed to track down who hired them but I do know they were uncomfortable with the entire situation, and so were many of their compatriots. Body cam footage from the commander shows an argument before they launched their attack."

"I… I didn't know." Talia was starting to understand the situation. These soldiers got used by another. They even realized it but couldn't do anything about it.

"Because your training has stunted my daughter. You have been too busy with the Detective and well…" Ra's waved at her abdomen.

Talia gave a slight smile and rubbed her abdomen. Then she thought of something, "you are thinking of training them?"

Ra's nodded, "they could both give the Detective a run for it. One is a prodigy with a doctorate in psychology and a penchant for tinkering. The other only has an online degree in programming but has already hacked into some of the most secure facilities in the world, she also happens to be a battle maniac."

Talia raised an eyebrow in surprise. High praise from someone like Ra's.

"Not to mention they seem more mercenary than patriots. After we release them we can hire them for the right price... eventually." Ra's suggested.

Talia rolled her eyes as she rubbed her abdomen lovingly.

Now. Over the Atlantic Ocean near the U.S. Airspace.

Mylo was resting his eyes until a commander of the delta unit he was flying with walked up to the cockpit for a moment then walked back a moment later.

"Listen up you goddamn chicken nuggets!" His yelling caught the attention of the entire flight crew. "We are being retasked, meaning vacation is canceled until further notice." He then looked over at Mylo who now had a sinking feeling in his stomach. "Commander Mente, is our boss until further notice. Commander Mente, someone called Waller faxed these paper's over to us and requisitioned us to assist you." The Delta Commander handed Mylo a stack of papers.

Mylo stood up and added them to the file he already had and read through them quickly. Once he understood what they were doing he nodded. "Listen up and gear up! I hope you are parachute certified. If you are combat capable you're coming. Pilots, how long do we have until our new drop destination?"

"30 minutes until we are over the asylum. Sir!" The co-pilot answered.

"You heard the man, you have 25 minutes to get ready. In the meantime I will explain the mission." Mylo started preparing his combat gear. He was glad he got at least a few hours of sleep. "Our mission is to find a rogue nuclear bomb. Another group has been given the task of actually finding and defusing the bomb. We get the misfortune of interrogating the bastard that stole it. He is located inside of Arkham Asylum in Gotham, that is not even the shittiest part."

Mylo was double checking his rifle at this point, "the shitty part is that the Asylum is in the midst of a mass breakout while Batman is busy with a nutjob blowing up half the city. So we can't even count on backup, we have already alerted the local PD. Any questions?"

"What about the escaped convicts?" A soldier asked.

"Shoot to kill. Arkham is home to scum, not mental cases." Mylo's answer was unwavering.

"How about civilians and arkham staff?" Another soldier asked.

"Save them if you can but keep in mind escapees might try to pass them off as civilians." Mylo then looked over the list of the soldiers on the flight and started calling out names. "Those names I just called out are exempt, because as dangerous as a tour is. A jaunt through Arkham during a breakout is ten times worse. Each of those people are on their way home to their pregnant wives, so congratulate them." Mylo tossed aside the file as he then started detailing the facility and most dangerous figures there.

By the time they got there these soldiers would understand why he gave the ones expecting a kid a chance to back out.

Six Years Ago. Location: Unknown.

It had been half a year since they were captured at this point they were fighting more than twenty of these assassins each day.

Mylo and Scarlett were resting at the moment when a guard walked in, "The Demon's Head has summoned you."

Mylo and Scarlett looked at each other for a moment before getting up. The guards put chains on them and escorted them to Ra's study. When they entered, Ra's shook his head, "remove the shackles, they won't need them. Then leave."

The guards bowed their heads then removed the shackles and left the room. Once the door was closed Ra's offered them a drink.

"You will continue to stay here for your term for the attempted theft. But I wished to offer friendlier terms. For instance myself and my daughters will personally train you. We will also have you join us for meals instead of eating the slop we feed prisoners." Ra's statement caught them both off guard.

"Why?" Scarlett asked. Mystified and worried about Ra's sudden generosity.

"Because you both are incredibly talented and because, as you suspected, your operation was not government sanctioned." Ra's statement caught Scarlett off guard while Mylo sighed. "But I would appreciate a profile from Mylo about the type of person that would go out of their way to pay off people and then have them killed when it goes wrong. Of course I will gladly pay you."

Mylo frowned, "okay, I would need a full case file on what happened but I can tell you the basics for now. The person you are dealing with is incredibly rich, meticulous, so probably a micromanager, knowledgeable, and well connected and versed in the underworld."

Ra's raised an eyebrow, that was the basics? "Very well, as for your government. They learned your team was forced into an off the books assignment and has declared you both K.I.A. is there anyone either of you need to let know you are still alive?"

Scarlett nodded, "yes my family. I don't want them to grieve for no reason."

"Just my boss, I don't want her giving my stuff to my family. It would be hell to wrestle back my properties when I return." Mylo stated plainly.

Ra's chuckled, "very well. I will inform Scarlett's family that she is still alive. I will inform your boss, Amanda Waller, that you both are alive and will return in a year and a half."

Scarlett accepted the drink and Mylo did as well. "Then I suppose we will gladly accept."

Now. Gotham Bay Airspace.

The cargo plane's bay door opened as they neared Arkham Asylum. Mylo stood on the ramp and looked behind him at the ten soldiers that would be joining him.

"Remember we are weapons hot before we even touch the ground. If you aren't careful they will shoot you out of the air." Mylo stated as he double checked his gear and made sure the sights on his rifle were ready.

He looked over to the side and could see the city. It really was in trouble, there were explosions and fire visible from where he was.

"We are over Arkham Asylum in less than a minute, prepare to jump." The co-pilot called over the plane's comm system.

Mylo nodded and stood at the edge of the ramp then yelled over his shoulder, "remember our objective: Find the location of the nuclear bomb from Edward Nygma, also known as The Riddler!"
