Chapter 12 - Deception

London. Under Big Ben.

"Hmm… I suppose you gents won't let me go quietly?" Mylo asked as he set down the bag with artifacts and put his phone down on top of it.

"Hands on your head! Or we-" The frontmost person in tactical gear started yelling out but was suddenly cut off as Mylo was in front of him.

Mylo slapped the MP5 out of his hand and grabbed him by the throat. Before the others got a chance to act he had pulled the man's pistol out of his holster and was unloading shots.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

The bullets unloaded onto the farthest person, one in his thigh, one in his shoulder, and another in his bullet proof vest.

*Bang* *Bang*

Mylo shot two others in the chest. Causing them to stagger, he then threw the gun at another. Hitting him in the head causing his gas mask to fall off. Then he threw the body of the person he was holding by the neck.

At the start there were six, but after this there was one unconscious and injured from bullet wounds. Another, the leader who spoke, was unconscious from being thrown. Another was unconscious because the gun hit him in the head. Leaving three left, two were nursing injuries from being shot in their bullet proof vest and the last one had to drop his gun when the leader was thrown at him as a weapon.

Mylo ran towards one of the ones that were recovering from being shot and kicked him… or rather her, across the room and into a wall. Which knocked her unconscious.

Then he dodged a bullet from the other guy and threw him into the ceiling. Before he was even on the ground again, Mylo was already heading to his last target. He only pulled off her mask before he walked back towards his bag. The woman went grabbing for her mask when she collapsed, unconscious from the sleeping gas that is still cycling through the contained air system this facility features.

As he picked up his phone and the bag of artifacts he brought back the phone to his ear. "Where were we?"

"Did you just kill someone?" Kara asked hurriedly. He could even hear whispers in the background. He should probably hurry before she figures out where he is.

"Ha! No, I don't kill people if they are just doing their job, especially if I am the one in the wrong." Mylo walked to a stairwell and climbed the stairs. "Tell your friends to calm down, no one's dead. Just unconscious with minor injuries."

"I suppose you won't tell me who you are intruding on or where that would happen to be." Kara asked as Mylo could hear quiet discussion in the background.

"Nope," Mylo opened the stairwell exit to ground level and walked out into an alley, "no need to give you a location either. I suspect you will figure it out soon enough anyways." Mylo took off his gas mask and tossed it to the side as he walked up to a van he had pre parked and opened up the back. "But if you want I can just tell you where I was… at our date in six days." Mylo tossed his bag of artifacts in the back of the van and climbed inside. As he closed the door he could hear the faint sound of movement and whispers over the phone.

Mylo tossed his phone on the passenger seat as he started up the van. Then he pulled out his van into the street and started driving towards the meetup location where the Hummingbird was prepared and waiting.

As he was driving through the streets he waited for Kara and her company, more than likely the Justice League, to figure out his location.

—------------------------------------------

Space. Justice League Watchtower.

As Kara looked at the members of the League as they started moving about. Wonder Woman was moving to her jet. While Green Lantern had already flown down and was on comms. Then Aquaman, Red Tornado, and Hawkgirl had moved the Justice League Jet and were waiting for word from Flash.

"Got it. He is in a remote area of India called, 'Go'cha Valley'. So we-" Flash didn't get a chance to finish his sentence as Kara burst out in laughter.

As she laughed, she could hear a chuckle over the phone. Dr. Fate who was off to the side stood confused for a moment. Before he processed Barry's words, the Flash had already run off so no chance to warn him.

Kara eventually slowed her laughter, until she looked at Dr. Fate, "hey can you open a portal to England. I did not say anything before but I could hear people in the background with British accents. I am guessing he is either in the U.K. or Europe."

Dr. Fate nodded before he waved his hands and a portal opened up. "A portal to over London." Kara nodded and picked up her phone and flew through. Dr. Fate followed after her. While the remainder were focused on the investigation and going to that oddly named valley in India.

As Kara floated over London she heard the sound of the line going off as Mylo cut off the call. "Ah… I guess I was right." Kara closed her eyes and listened to all the sounds around London, listening for a commotion. "Found it. This way." Kara flew towards an unremarkable building but as they got closer she was stopped by Dr. Fate.

"Do not bother. I already know where this is. Is this where the biggest commotion is?" Dr. Fate asked.

"Yes, I can hear a ton of movement and angry yelling about a break-in. It is also layered with lead so I can't see inside." Kara explained briefly as she started using her X-ray vision to look at nearby vehicles, more specifically large ones. Like vans and trucks.

"This is bad. He broke into a facility that was designed for storing dangerous and powerful magical artifacts. Fortunately there should be a trail from how powerful the magical artifacts are." Dr. Fate did a few hand signs and then his eyes glowed as he started looking around. "Well this is annoying and telling. It seems your 'date' for Sunday has already planned ahead, a large swath of the City is covered in Chaos magic. If the city is like this the artifacts are more than likely unstable. I will have to calm those that he left behind, I can already see a few are about to free themselves using the leftover magic. But I do see a trail going that way." Dr. Fate pointed in a direction before he disappeared into a golden Ank portal.

"Okay then." Kara looked in the direction he pointed and started flying through the air. Listening and hearing as people noticed her and began pointing.

—-----------------------------------------

Remote Airspace. Hummingbird.

Mylo put the autopilot on as he flew towards The Vacation Home. He stood up and walked towards the back as he pulled out his phone. After dialing he heard an answer.

"You already left the U.K. haven't you?" Kara stated as she quickly answered the phone.

"Basically… how far did you track me?" Mylo asked as he started unpacking the bag of Artifacts.

"I just arrived over a remote field where I found an abandoned van with equipment that would help someone disguise as… an AC repairman? I guess that is how you broke in?" Kara asked, sounding actually impressed.

"Yup, you know I could have broken in and killed them all. I did this method instead, making me have to knock a bunch of people out. In fact I had a plan to draw Dr. Fate out as well, but I guess I did not need it." Mylo pulled out four of the artifacts and set them aside into another box. "When you see him again, you can tell him that the artifacts are in safe hands for the moment. But the science heads want to study it, it will be useless though I suspect it won't be long before they are reckless. Like what happened in Gotham."

"Okay, I will let him know." There is a moment of silence before Kara lets out a chuckle, "just out of curiosity, is there an actual Valley called 'Go'cha'?"

"Nope. I hard coded a lengthy tracking program followed by a fake location. I don't think it really clicked with them that their systems have been completely compromised." Mylo explained as he moved the box apart from the bag. "Before I forget, I saw that B-Man had broken into the Pentagon. You should give them a heads up that those files only document our Military Careers until two years ago, there is no official knowledge of us after that. But the files will shine some light on my *ahem*... wealth of knowledge."

"Hahaha! Okay, I will let them know. Hey, should I dress up or dress comfortably?" Kara asked as she felt her phone vibrate as she received another call. Looking at her phone she frowned and ignored it. "Looks like the Justice League has realized they just became a butt of a joke."

"Good. I feel like I should keep them on their toes. They never know when a smarter and more dangerous enemy will appear." Mylo openly stated as he sat down in the cockpit.

"Ha! You know they won't see it like that. But do you really think you are both smarter and more dangerous than them?" Kara asked, emphasizing the dangerous part.

"Yes I do. Umm… as to your question from before…. I think you should dress comfortably, I think it would be fun to go bar hopping with you." Mylo answered.

"Okay, then I guess I will see you Sunday. Bye!" Kara quickly hung up. Feeling a bit nervous and excited for Sunday. Somehow she feels like she will get to see something magical.

—-----------------------------------------------

India. Remote Location.

"Barry, this is not a valley." Hal let a chuckle slip as he nodded toward the mountain they were on. He was surrounded by cows at the moment.

"I know." Flash started looking around then he even frowned and looked down at one of his feet, he had stepped in cow shit. While Hal started laughing even harder. "I can't believe we forgot he compromised our systems. Stupid genius hacker."

"Honestly we should have realized it sooner." Wonder Woman stated as she flew her jet towards the U.K., apparently Dr. Fate and Kara went there. "But I have a feeling we will have problems with tracking these people in particular, it seems like they specifically and discreetly prepared for us."

—------------------------------------------------

Project Cadmus. Four Years Ago.

Mylo was looking down at a file of their first target since getting back, meanwhile… he looked up and across the conference table to see Scarlett was spinning in her chair. She probably was not even listening to the briefing.

Blackfire. The sister of Starfire, a member of the Teen Titans. With the bugs and listening they were able to determine that Blackfire was ostracized against and sold to an enemy. Who ended up conquering their people anyways with information from Blackfire. Her real name is Komand'r but is translated as Blackfire in English.

Her abilities are flight, shooting lasers out of her hands and eyes. Super strength but weaker than the Kryptonians strength. Has a method of strategic planning and experience in Starship to Starship combat, supposedly is on the run from home planet and invading peoples.

Has been on planet for only one year but has only caused problems for her exiled sister by getting into fights and drawing other alien species to the planet. She operated within our parameters of problems until her latest debacle where she drew the attention of a group of aliens called Collectors to Earth where both the Teen Titans and Justice League had to get involved. Has been determined to be a detrimental threat and is to be killed.

Mylo sighed as he waved off the person briefing them on their mission. "Scarlett it looks like we are immediately running into something weird, fortunately it is only us but nonetheless. We will have to do this discreetly, we do not want heroes on our ass this early."

Scarlett stopped spinning in her chair and nodded, "sure but how are we getting there. I really was not listening."

Mylo smiled and stood up, walking towards the door, "follow me." As he walked he looked back, "you at least know the objective is to kill someone without anyone noticing?"

"Oh… we can do that with our eyes closed. Why are they sending two of us?" Scarlett asked as she followed him into an elevator.

"Because she is an alien with superpowers." Mylo briefly explained as the elevator went to the hanger on the roof. "We have to avoid this group of teen superheroes from catching on. So we should knock her out or draw her discreetly away from Jump City."

"Okay… so why is that?"

Mylo chuckled as the door opened to the sight of a Heli-Jet that they would be using to get across the country in a few hours' time. "Because the alien is the sister of one of the superheroes, sort of like that whole Cain and Abel thing. Which is why this Operation is called: Sister's Keeper."

—------------------------------------------------

Batcave. Under Wayne Manor.

Batman was looking through one of the files he had retrieved from the Pentagon. Sitting across from him eating fries while reading was Question. They had managed to retrieve four boxes worth of military history. It was suspicious and it almost seemed like it was set aside for them to find.

At the moment he was opening a file labeled 'Sister's Keeper'. It seemed like the pair's first operation after a two year hiatus. Batman opened it up and read the first line, he then immediately stood up. Catching the attention of both Question and Tim, who was working on the Batcomputer.

He then started walking to his jet, "Tim, call Grayson. Tell him I am on route. I have something I need to talk to Starfire about." He glanced at the file he was carrying, he only did a cursory glance. But just with that glance he knew he had to get info from the Titans directly. Since it seems they were unknowingly directly involved with Mylo and Scarlett.

—---------------------------------------------------

Jump City International Airport. A few hours later.

Scarlett stepped out of Talia's plane with a duffel bag slung over her shoulder, her hair was up in a ponytail and she wore a pair of aviators. She looked around as she walked down the stairs of the plane.

"I am honestly surprised Tally, you don't usually travel so conspicuously. If I did not know you better-" Scarlett started speaking but was cut off by Talia Al Ghul.

"Shut it Scar." Talia yawned and rubbed her eyes before she put on her own pair of glasses. All she had on her was a katana in a travel case. "How the hell are you not suffering from a hangover? I have a headache."

"Uh huh." Scarlett was still looking around but eventually she stopped and shook her head. She opened the back door of the limo that pulled up. "I don't mind your shenanigans, but you know this will put us in a tough position with those stuffy Cadmus Council members. They'll see what you are doing and try to bring it to light as an opportunity to push us out."

Talia chuckled as she climbed in the back, "oh please, I may not have as great of an information network as you and Mylo but I do know about that sneaky plan of yours. Which is why I am guessing this is the reason you let me do this."

Scarlett shrugged as she climbed in after Talia and closed the car door, "that's fair, but Blake is not so forgiving, she will clean you out as compensation. You would not know this but she has quite the unique perspective when it comes to what can be compensation." Scarlett looked out one of the windows to the roof of one of the hangers, "but as for my reason, I have been waiting for a chance to show one of these groups of heroes what I am capable of and putting them in their place. Not to mention these kids have been at the top of our list, they set a bad example for others."

Talia shook her head. She might be ruthless, but even she was beginning to realize the folly of raising children as fighters instead of giving them a choice. Which is why she is excited for what would happen in less than a year's time. When her own ray of sunshine, Damian, would get the opportunity of choices of what he can do in the future. But that is the problem with superheroes, for some reason they are righteous and without fault. But even though Mylo and Scarlett are as talented and nice as they are, both realize they have many faults and account accordingly for those faults. Talia looked to where Scarlett was looking, but these superheroes do not even realize their own faults sometimes.

—---------------------------------------------------

Jump City International Airport. Across the airfield on the roof of a hanger.

Nightwing felt a shiver down his spine as he looked at the limo through his binoculars, at the moment he was in civies. But even then he knew he had to come here because he was alerted that one of Talia Al Ghul's identities was flying in with a guest. They even had a jammer to stop the eavesdropping device that he uses to eavesdrop on people's conversations from afar. Here he was worried about Batman flying in, in less than an hour. But now he knew he had a new host of problems. Mainly because he could tell he was made by that red haired woman as well as Talia.

Nightwing opened a comm line as soon as he saw the limo pulling away, thankfully he put a tracker on it earlier. "Hey Star! Sorry but you will have to welcome bats without me. I got an alert about a high level criminal in town, I am watching them for now. I will let you know more later." Then the line went down and he made his way to his motorcycle. It was time to follow them, even if he was made by them, it seemed like something was about to go down. And he had to be there when it did.
