Filler Chapter 1

Filler Chapter 1: Please have my child (½) || Patreon Request Chapter

Sandra Wu-San was a woman of integrity.

She had principles that could never be shaken by anyone, no matter how much authority or fame they held. However, there was one thing that was above any of those things: family, specifically the traditions of their family.

"What is this…" She felt her heartbeat quickening, eyes widening, and hands sweating.

The scroll that she found after going through one of the only three chests that were left of her family's legacy was not what she had hoped for. She had hoped either for a family tree, a record to possibly track down her distant relatives, or maybe even ancient arts.

She wasn't necessarily from a famous family, to be honest. Her father was the village protector of the village where she grew up – the same village that was destroyed when she wasn't even a teenager.

"Why?" She was confused as she read through the content. "Why would we have a tradition like this?"

The content of the scroll was simple.

`*To keep the blood of the Wu family pure, the heir must produce a child with a person of equally strong blood. A male heir must find a woman who can defeat him, yet the woman has to be kind, humble, and obedient to him. Whereas a female heir must find a man who can defeat her and is wild, unpredictable, proud yet wise.

The heir or heiress must find a partner of such qualities before the age of thirty-three when they have crossed a third of their lifespan and have reached emotional maturity while not losing physical capabilities.*`

A simple scroll filled with ridiculous content.

Sandra didn't have any brothers. The one male in their family was a stillborn, so the only children were Sandra and her older sister.

However, her sister was kidnapped a very long time ago, and despite her intensive search, she had never been able to find her sister. Which meant that the duty of the heiress fell on her.

"I am already in my thirties…" Thankfully, she wasn't thirty-three yet. But she was reluctant to follow a tradition that definitely did not sit right with her.

However, she was also bound by her family rules, and possibly as the last surviving member of her family, she had to keep it alive.

But even if she did decide to go through with the ancient tradition, she was not sure who would be a man that could fulfill those conditions.

Definitely not Ra's; he was too old and way past his prime.

Batman wasn't wild; he was very disciplined.

Slade fought her to a draw but was unable to defeat her.

So who was left?

Technically, there was someone.

A man that was younger than her but had defeated her without breaking a sweat.

He was strong, definitely well-built, and was capable of passing on the strong genes.

He was also quite smart when it came to using his skills and was wise enough to be able to analyze situations that even experts specialized in guarding weren't able to figure out.

She knew that it wouldn't be easy to convince him to let her conceive his child.

But she had no choice.

He was the person who fit the requirements, he was the perfect specimen.

"Looks like…" She looked at the scroll, "I'll have to visit the states again."

[A Week Later]

[Gotham]

In the southeast corner of Gotham, was an old broken bridge that was recently reconstructed. Not by the authorities or even by the billionaires – they rarely walked to such places – but by a youngster who recently occupied the place.

"A few shopping complexes, some drug stores, a few attractions, and maybe a pub… a small one. I definitely do not want to get into Catwoman's bad side by competing with her pub."

Jasper calculated the cost and area that he would require, and while he was certain that he could cover the cost, he was falling short on landmass.

"If I want to build an amusement park alongside all that, I will need–" He turned to look at the run-down and ghastly-looking building a few minutes ahead of him, "–the area of those buildings…"

Unfortunately, there was an issue with that.

'That area is under Joker's jurisdiction.'

Joker had control over many places, and while he never stayed in any of them, his eccentric followers ruled those places. And no matter how many times Batman beat the shit out of those said goons, new ones always came back and took those places.

Jasper didn't want to get entangled with the Joker, especially when he knew that the madman was not a person who made such deals.

However, he didn't have any choice.

If he wanted to go ahead with his plans and keep his promise to the sorceress, he had to take that land under his control.

Sighing at the thought of having to meet the Joker, he took out the can of soda he had been carrying since coming to the place.

However, that's when he felt something.

"What the!"

Jumping back a little, he barely managed to dodge a kunai that pierced straight through the soda can, exploding it in the process.

"We meet again," he heard a very smooth yet seductive voice.

The same voice he had heard in a former life or death situation.

"Lady Shiva…" Jasper felt a frown forming on his face, not too happy at having his can of soda go to waste.

He looked at the woman standing right over the bridge, "To what do I owe this 'pleasure' of your visit?"

"I apologize for the uninvited visit," She said, gracefully jumping down the bridge, "But I assure you, I am not here to cause harm."

Jasper pointed at the destroyed can, "That's quite the damage in my opinion."

"I…" She looked down, "I apologize. I just wasn't sure how to get your attention; you seemed too engrossed in your thoughts."

Jasper was unsure whether to laugh or be worried that she didn't think of simply calling his name instead of throwing that Kunai.

"So, what brings you here?" He asked again, figuring that it was pointless to expect a normal answer from her.

But what she asked next, he didn't expect to hear from her.

"I… need your help," She said, looking down, not meeting his eyes.

"Huh?" For a second, Jasper thought that he had heard her wrong.

Because never would he have expected Lady Shiva, out of everyone, to ask him for help, for anything as a matter of fact.

"I do not believe I have any obligations to help you," He said, visible confusion and amusement on his face, "You did try to kill me, after all."

"You are just as aware as I am that it was necessary because it was a mission that I was doing." She said, "Just like you were paid to protect her, I was paid to kill her."

Jasper was well aware of that; that was exactly why he gave her an opportunity to work for him.

But for her to come to him for help, he knew it was something serious and possibly troublesome.

"I will not be doing anything that might put me at risk," He said, "I already have too much on my platter."

She sighed before pulling out the scroll and throwing it towards him.

Jasper caught it with ease before staring at it curiously, "What is it?"

"A scroll,"

"That I can see," He looked at her, "What is it about?"

"Read, and you will understand." She sighed, "And I do hope that you will say yes."

"Say yes?" He opened the scroll, "What does that–"

But as he went through the content of the scroll, he froze.

"Do you understand?" She asked, seeing the Jasper that was frozen on his tracks.

"I hope you are asking me to find you a man that can meet these requirements," He asked.

"No," At her words, Jasper's eyes widened in shock, "That man… happens to be you."

"Wait, wait, wait," He said, "I never agreed to giving anyone my 'seed.'"

"Jasper Hughes," She bit her lips, "I do not have much time to fulfill those conditions, and you happen to be the person who meets those requirements perfectly. So, I really hope you can agree to this request."

Now, Jasper wasn't a person who would say no at being asked to spend a night or two with a beautiful woman – especially someone who was as attractive as Lady Shiva.

However, it was a totally different case when that was not to be done for pleasure but to conceive a child.

"I am not ready to be a father," He answered honestly, "That is not even a thought at the moment."

Having a kid would be a major setback for his plans, and he couldn't afford that.

"You do not have to father them," She replied, "I just need you to conceive the child. The child will entirely be my responsibility."

But even that wasn't enough for Jasper.

Until.

Until she pulled out another card.

"I, Sandra Wu-San, Lady Shiva of the League of Assassins and the master of the League of Shadows, swear to protect Jasper Hughes at all times and to follow his commands as long as they do not harm the League of Assassins, for he is to bless me with a child."

That…

That was something that made Jasper pause.

"You are willing to expand your League of Shadows at my command?" He asked, at which she nodded.

"As long as that does not harm the League of Assassins."

Now, that was a trade that was worth making.

The League of Shadows was a sub-branch of the League of Assassins that later became the league itself.

And to have partial command over it was not something that anyone could dream about.

Even with the condition that he might not harm the League of Assassins, it was too good of a deal to pass on.

"And you promise that I do not have to worry about raising any kids?"

"I promise," Sandra assured, "All you need to do… is to impregnate me."

And that was what he needed to hear.

"I… I think I agree."
