I quickly scanned the room and what I saw made me feel a modicum of unease, Klarion the witch boy, Zatara, and Zatanna. Not to mention John Constantine. What is he doing here anyways?
"I don't have long before that nuisance arrives, lets's hurry this thing up shall we!" Klarion yelled with childish glee
Crimson spheres of chaos appeared around him.
"Oye! I didn't sign up for this bloody mess," John said as fireballs appeared in his hands
"John Constantine, as much as I abhor saying this we need to work together," Zatara said, Zatanna stayed quiet
I slowly slipped into the shadows. Before I could reposition myself a bright light lit up the room.
"CHAOS!" An enraged voice riveted throughout the room
Dr. Fate has arrived.
"How did you get here so fast!?" Klarion yelled in annoyance whilst throwing the crimson spheres at Dr. Fate
Dr. Fate blocked them with an Ankh, "Dr. Fate we are going to have to team up here!" Zatara said dodging a stray sphere
"We shall," Dr. Fate replied in a calm steady tone
"Dad, what about that other guy?" Zatanna asked
Giovanni Zatara looked around for me, I carefully hid in the shadows, keeping my presence to a minimum.
"I sense a creature of Chaos here and it's not Klarion," Dr. Fate growled
"Dnib!" Zatara yelled gesturing toward Kalrion
The walls moved to entrap the Chaos avatar, Klarion expertly maneuvered out of the way, taking some smoke pellets from my left pouch and tossing them toward the fighting magicians, smoke began to bellow out filling the room.
Moving fast I approached Klarion, "it seems we both could help each other," I spoke in a hushed tone, he could still hear me
"Oh yeah?" Klarion said in a mocking tone whilst blocking a beam of light
"Dr. Fate has this place on lockdown, I help you get out and you help me get the book," I offered
"DIE!... Do you have any idea how valuable the book is you, simpleton!" he yelled at me while creating a barrage of chaos spears
I rapidly dodged vines, fireballs, and different types of order constructs.
I gritted my teeth, Klarion isn't attacking me but at the same time, he won't aid me. I have to somehow figure this out on my own.
I began to shift back and forth between my solid and mist state, dodging the maelstrom of magic zipping across the battlefield.
I saw the book on the floor, running at max speed I was a step away when I sensed danger, and I turned into mist. Alas, I overestimated the intangibility I possessed in this form, glass shards coated in order magic pierced through me, *shicckkk* forcing myself to turn into my solid state.
"Argh," I gritted my teeth in anger, this hurts more than the sun
"Bloody vamps," John cursed while preparing to throw a fireball at me
*pahchk!* "ARGHH!" John groaned in pain his whole body jerked back
"Got him," Dembe's voice rang in my ears
"Ahh, Thanks," I said panting in pain whilst I pulled out the glass shards
*crash!* suddenly the glass above me shattered
Rolling to the side I dodged my attacker, eyeing him I whispered, "Batman,"
We both ignored the fallen John Constantine and the battling magi.
Batman didn't waste any time chatting he rushed me with intent, his stance, and his demeanor showed a true skill in martial arts.
He jabbed toward my stomach, hitting his fist away with a timed backhand I swept at his legs, and he backed off at the perfect time and then rapidly approached faster than before.
*pah!* his fist slammed into my forearms, capitalizing on this moment I grabbed his right arm and pulled him close using a bit of my super strength I kneed him in the stomach *Pah!* his left hand met my knee blocking my strike, I could see the faint twitch of his lips indicating his hand felt more pain than he thought.
We continued to fight, constantly trading blows, he was focused in on my every move, and I was double tasking.
Closely I waited for an opportunity to get the book.
It happened in an instant, Klarion landed a solid strike on Zatanna dropping her to the ground, and Zatara lost focus to help her, Dr. Fate managed to chain Klarion in order constructs. But, he wasn't unscathed himself.
I seized the opportunity, speeding up my movements I blocked batman's elbow and swiftly kicked him in the stomach launching the bat backward.
I moved in an instant covering all of the ground I needed, scooping up the book I tried to make a run for it, only for a well-timed fireball to strike me in the back.
The fire began to burn me badly I felt like my insides were turning to mush, "AARGHH!" I groaned in pain
"NEW DEAL! DRINK MY BLOOD AND SAVE ME YOU CAN HAVE THE BOOK!" I heard Klarion scream
I acted on pure instinct, rushing over to Kalrion my body still alight I tried to dodge a bright spear made from Order energy but I couldn't, the spear struck my arm.
"AHHH!" I screamed in unimaginable pain as I watched my arm disintegrate
The book was held in my other arm luckily, I ran faster than ever toward Klarion, the bottom of my mask already gone I sunk my fangs into his neck.
"NO!" I heard a shout
"YAWA!" I heard another strong voice
I felt a forced run into my body, like I was hit by a car, but I didn't move, my whole body felt like it was on the most unimaginable drug.
klarion's blood made me feel strong, I felt invincible.
My arm grew back instantly, the fire was now just a tickle, and it rapidly dissipated. My hand shot out and grasped the chains, they felt brittle.
I pulled.
*shwoom!* the chains tore from around Klarion, I grabbed his body and jumped as high as I could. Landing on the roof I ran hoping from rooftop to rooftop
Once I was an adequate distance away I dropped Klarion, "see you next time," I said to him as I turned into a bat and flew away
As I flew I felt free, Klarion's blood is dangerously addictive, and I felt like I could battle the justice league.
I flew to the meeting point Dembe and I established.
Just one question rang inside my mind, what the hell is this book?

I got up, my whole body was in pain, I am going to feel terrible tomorrow. My opponent was far stronger, faster, and smarter than he led on, bi's skills were none short of masterful, he lulled me into a false sense of security that he was a baseline human, only to strike when he found the right moment. I failed, next time I won't.
Looking at the defeated group of magi I couldn't help but scowl.
"A whole group of you and you couldn't defeat one boy?" I asked with a dangerous tint to my tone
"If Giovanni didn't stop to protect his daughter we would have won, and Klarion isn't a boy," Dr. Fate replied
"Oye! If your host is so bloody weak why are you using him!" The British man yelled
"My daughter is worth more than the book," Zatara scowled
"She isn't," Dr. Fate replied
"What was that book?" I asked
The British man looked at me, amusement gone from just eyes, "trouble mate, trouble,"
That didn't help.

I sat, no laid in the passenger seat of the car as Dembe drove, apparently, there is a serious crash that happens after you drink the blood of someone like Klarion. I felt as if I just stayed out in the sun for weeks.
Not to mention I felt mentally drained, there were way too many big shots there for my liking, this book has to be something special.
It was only by sheer luck I was able to escape in the first place if Klarion's blood didn't give me that boost I would be dead right now.
I overestimated myself majorly.
"You did good today Dembe," I said in a tired tone
"It's my duty," he replied eyes firmly locked on the road
"You saved my life," I said a small smile forming on my lips
"Sir, I did what any bodyguard would do," he told me in his serious tone
"Dembe, not all bodyguards would disguise themselves as me to kill someone, go along with my plans and schemes, and act as my sniper, admit it we are friends," I said in amusement
"I'm your bodyguard first," he replied shaking his head
I snorted at his answer, I slowly began to drift into something I found foreign to me.
Sleep.
"Friend second," I heard just before I greeted Morpheus
