"The eye of the irrational storm. Whatever 'Enchantress' is doing. She's doing it from there." The Amazonian Warrior, Daughter of Zeus, Champion of Themyscira, Diana Prince, Wonder Woman shielded her eyes from the dust storm picking up intensity.
Rural Oklahoma had always been troubled by dust storms for a while but this…
"You know Batman thinks she's simply gone insane? I mean….magic?" Another figure stepped into the clearing, having powered his way through the intense dust storm. A slick, metallic shaped figure came through. "I know I don't have alot of experience with it, but….nevermind." Cyborg says as a singular eye shield retracts into his metal covered forehead.
"Cyborg? Your pacemaker has risen to 48 beats per minute, and im picking up alot of 2-methylphenol in your oil." Boots greet the ground, picking up some dust. A red and blue costume greeting the pair of heroes.
Cyborg takes a moment to form his response. "Sure, Superman. I'm anxious. Always anxious around…'magic'. If you're not, you should be."
"You make a valid point." Superman says as his sharp eyes scan the eye of the storm. A lonely, broken down country house. Everything around it looked dead, the singular tree next to it and even the grass that surrounded it for miles.
"Something's coming." Wonder Woman warned as she gained a combat ready stance.
*FLLLOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!*
Ethereal emerald seeps into the sky after an ominous noise enters the storm. A shadow covers the already bleak looking place. As they look up, they see a figure. An extremely decrepit and malnourished elderly woman with a green hood that flowed from her head into nothingness.
Her arms were so skinny that there was literally no muscle in it that Superman could observe. "And you wondered why I don't like magic." Cyborg comments as he jumps back, his white noise cannon activating from his arm.
[Magic is simply something that which is not yet understood. You three break every physical law under the sun.] The brooding voice of their comrade, Batman, tells them in their ear.
Cyborg gains a smirk. "Not me, im an honest-to-God product of science and technology."
[The science and technology of a extremely advanced alien species that have access to portals and their leader can destroy planets.] Batman responds blandly.
Before he could shoot back, Cyborg was interrupted to a foul smell. "My God….that smell, it's insane!" Superman exclaims as he attempts to cover his highly enhanced nose.
"Bones?" Wonder Woman mutters to herself as a sea of bone fragments storm around the trio, surrounding them. "Teeth? Flying filthy teeth!"
Cyborg's cannon blasts out, "Batman was right! Only a crazy person would have conjured something up like this!"
Superman raises his arm in front of his face, hoping to block the sight of filthy teeth from even touching him, until he feels as pain comes from everywhere on his body. "SUPERMAN! YOU'RE BEING CUT TO RIBBONS!" Wonder Woman says wields her shield.
"Old witches teeth hurting Superman, thats all wrong!" Cyborgs continues with boasting the seemingly endless sea of teeth away from him.
"Look at them, they're too small to be an adults." Superman voices as his heat vision come alive. "I-I-I think they're children's!" He hesitatingly says.
"UGH!" The moment Cyborg stopped blasting in shock of Superman's words, he was swarmed immediately.
A glowing lasso wraps around him, keeping him from being sliced away. "Were in her world now, Victor. Here…she makes the rules. You were right to be anxious!"
"You're right! Im about to release it!" Victor says as he takes place in front of Superman who's having some trouble as most pf the teeth stormed around him. "Activate: CX PURGATORY"
{Activated}
Cyborg's chest opens up and a pulse erupts from it, obliterating anything and everything deemed as hostile in 8 mile radius. As tiny, barley visible shards of bone rain down, "Clark! You need some medical attention!" Wonder Woman comes to his side. She was bleeding heavily but it didn't seem to faze her as much as it did him.
[What happened? You weren't answering for a little bit."] Batman's authoritative voices comes in.
"Ehhhhh, we might need some help." Cyborgs replies.
———
"Diana, what can you tell me?" Wonder Woman turns to see a man in a bat costume walking up to her. She had just got Superman back to the infirmary where he could get checked up.
"Batman, we encountered….basically a flood of teeth that could cut through skin." His eyes slightly widened at her words but they immediately narrowed at the implications.
He only knew Clark for 6 months, first meeting him when they were called upon to defend the world from an alien invader called 'Darkseid'. The fight took every ounce of their being to pull through and even now reparations were still being done throughout the world, especially New York.
"Do you think it was magic?" He asked hesitantly. He always tried to keep his mind open for any and all potential dangers and enemies but magic…how was he supposed to combat such a foe?
"The Enchantress was there but only for a moment…I sensed a foul magic at play, Batman, what we face-"
Batman interrupted her, "-We need help."
She nodded. "I think I've got somebody." He finished.
