[Shinoa's POV]
I rarely became serious because of my personality and the demon waiting to penetrate and possess me.
However, the habit stayed even though the demon could no longer directly affect her because of the potion.
The emotions I felt when I realized that one of the Progenitors was in front of them were real, and I was genuinely scared.
Nevertheless, I had seen what remained after one of such vampires.
Of course, I had become stronger because of my aura, but I was not strong enough to fight on equal terms with someone like him.
On the other hand, Tony easily forced this vampire, mocked him and other vampires, and defeated three Progenitors...
I knew he was strong, but I simply didn't know how strong.
Vampires like Crowley were the strongest and best monsters there were.
They wouldn't have been able to handle it even with Cursed Gear Stimulants that made them one and a half times stronger.
Now Horn was crucified, and next to her hung another in the same position without a hand.
Looking at Tony, my heart beat faster, and my panties got wet...
...
[Anthony's POV]
"Those like you are truly strong."
I said this after casting a spell to analyze his body and asking some questions.
"Shinoa, do you need to go to the wall?"
I glanced at Shinoa who was looking at me strangely.
"There's clearly a battle going on."
I said, and they could indeed see clouds of smoke from there.
"Yeah, we probably need to."
Shinoa nodded and glanced at her squad, and Yuichiro came forward and headed straight for me.
"How do I become as strong as you?"
Yuichiro asked directly.
"Do you really want that?"
I raised an eyebrow.
"I... I'm weak compared to guys like him."
Yuichiro's gaze fell on Crowley kneeling in front of him.
Yes, I did put him on his knees even if it was with magic.
"I couldn't even see his movements, and the first time I managed to deflect his blow aimed at Shinoa was only because he was careless and didn't take us seriously."
"It's nice to have those who understand that. Even if you're... human,"
Crowley intervened, and Yuichiro clenched his fist.
"Mitsuba and Shinoa told me he's a monster... What's the point of this cursed weapon if I still can't defeat someone like him?"
Yuichiro got angry.
"There are things that cannot be changed."
I said this after a short pause.
"Humans are not as physically strong as vampires, but they are much more talented at inventing new ways to win. A hundred years ago, vampires exterminated humans without much danger, but now there are enchanted weapons, and now there are cursed ones like yours. It's precisely because of this creativity that humans were at the top of the food chain... but it also led humans to the apocalypse."
I said this while considering what to do.
"Do you know the best example of human cruelty even if it's necessary?"
I asked Yuichiro.
"Your school in Shibuya or Hyakuya Orphanage..."
I said, and I could tell he was getting angry from his expression. He wasn't mad at me but at something in his mind.
"You... do you know about my past?"
Yuichirol lowered his head and asked.
"Yes. You know that you're an experiment of the Sect, and there were many like you in this shelter, and that's precisely why the vampires attacked it. The Brotherhood of a Thousand Nights, or the Hakuya Sect... committed horrible acts from a moral standpoint. But these same actions were committed in the Imperial Army, and you, Yuichiro, are proof of that. Just like all of you."
I glanced at the whole squad.
"Me? But I... I'm human."
Yuichiro said while furrowing his brows after a short pause.
"Not entirely. You're a Seraphim."
I said this when I noticed Crowley casting an assessing glance at Yuichiro.
"Seraphim? What's that?"
Yuichiro clearly didn't understand.
"And what do you mean we're proof of something?"
Shiho asked.
"In your school, you're an experiment. There are tests conducted there to see if you'll be possessed by a demon whether you'll submit or not, and become perfect soldiers, and many students died during this process."
"We knew what we were getting into..."
Mitsuba spoke much quieter than usual.
"It's our duty and the opportunity to become stronger."
"I understand and accept your point of view."
I nodded to Mitsuba.
"All of you are slightly stronger than the average person, and the connection with the demon makes you even stronger. But you, Yuichiro... you're the Seraph of the End. This... is something like a living weapon capable of standing up to the strongest vampires at the peak of their power. It's hard to explain in terms that you'd understand, but consider it another form of possession aside from the demon."
"So, I'm this Seraphim?"
Yuichiro clarified.
"Yeah, so you can become ten times stronger. The Imperial Army probably has more Seraphim for emergencies, and if many knew that you're the same... you'd be lying tied to a bed pumped full of different drugs to control you. People are capable of even worse."
I said.
"Hmm, people are much crueler, but nothing surprising about that."
Crowley remarked.
"How long do I have to stay in this position?"
Crowley asked.
"As long as I want."
I replied to him.
"And how do I use the power of the Seraphim?"
Yuichiro asked eagerly.
"Strong emotions can push you or be possessed by a demon. It will shake your mind and emotions, and you'll automatically enter a state of transformation... but I wouldn't recommend it. In this state, your 'self' disappears, and you'll attack everyone around you especially humans."
"It's like possession."
Shinoa said quietly.
"We should go. Tony-kun will handle everything here himself, and we have a mission."
"...strong emotions?"
Yuichiro whispered, and then his gaze swept over Yoichi and the rest of the squad, and uncertainty was reflected in his eyes.
"I understand, thank you for telling us."
Yuichiro nodded to me.
"Oh, I can't just let you go like that. Stay put,"
I said to them, and magical seals appeared under their feet.
"Don't move, I'll enhance you for about an hour, and all your physical characteristics will triple. In this state, you can safely take your stimulants to two tablets, and there will be no consequences except for some muscle soreness."
I finished casting the spell on them.
"I... I can feel it."
Yoichi exclaimed in amazement.
"Tony-kun, you're amazing!"
Yoichi exclaimed.
"Yes, yes, and he's mine, remember that."
Shinoa looked back at me and licked her lips seductively... and they all ran towards the huge walls as a squad.
"Oh, you've already recovered."
I noticed that Horn and Chess accompanying Crowley were trying to break free almost ignoring the pain from their pierced limbs.
"What are you going to do?"
Crowley asked.
"I'll show you the way of the Lord."
I murmured and drew my sword from the ring while feeling an additional boost in strength from the Eighth Metal.
"Hturt llet"
I said, and now he couldn't lie.
"Are you glad to be a vampire?"
"It's pleasant to feel all this power, but it's meaningless. I'm like a puppet, only sometimes driven by curiosity,"
Crowley said, and I understood that he couldn't lie maybe he didn't even want to.
"I remember that it used to be brighter, the world was colorful... but now I can't even imagine what that's like anymore. These colors return a bit as I get absorbed by human blood. Now, I don't even know who's standing in front of me; you smell strange, but definitely human... There's nothing to compare it to, and it's amazing. Your strength, your abilities... are there others like you? And what's your goal?"
"My goal is simple to become stronger. And for that, I'll exterminate vampires but not all of them. You have too many obvious weaknesses, and I've already come up with several ways to practically reduce your race to zero with technical means even with a virus."
I spoke and created a regular steel sword in my hand, then tried to stab it into her shoulder. It worked, and their skin wasn't super tough.
"Hmm, and do you think you stand a chance?"
Crowley inquired while ignoring my antics. After the sword exited his shoulder, the wound quickly healed.
"Yes, but there are a couple more problems... manipulation of the first vampire himself."
I admitted.
"Alright, sgnileef namuh nruter,"
I said, and nothing happened for a few seconds except Crowley freezing in place, but then... he let out a piercing scream, and his aura flared up as if trying to fix something.
I watched closely, and it reminded me of a demon transformation somehow. At least, that's how I imagined it.
Crowley was heavily strained in his soul, but then it all stopped, and he fell to the ground face down.
"Interesting effect."
I admitted.
"What did you do to him? Lord Crowley! I'll kill you!"
Chess screamed while trying to break free with a lot of force. She could easily throw cars.
"What is this... impossible."
Crowley whispered, his eyes still red. He remained a vampire but gained what all the other vampires lose... human feelings.
He didn't gain them but rather got them back.
"This... is what life is like."
Crowley sincerely smiled.
"Lord Crowley!"
Horn exclaimed, and Chess followed suit immediately drawing the Crowley's attention, and he quickly stood up.
"Are you alright?"
"Well, do you want to lose it again?"
I asked.
"No."
Crowley shook his head.
"I feel like I've regained the meaning of life, and even colors and scents have become much brighter. Girls, everything is fine... I just regained my human feelings."
Crowley said, and his gaze turned back to me, and I clearly noticed the flicker of nervousness and fear.
It wasn't there before even when I tore off Horn's hands.
"It's still not all rainbows. Your vampire essence will slowly return everything to its place, and all of this is only temporary... maybe for about a week you will continue to feel everything fully."
I muttered and waved my hand for the show.
The crucifixes crumbled into the ground, and the two girls jumped sharply to Crowley and hugged him while pressing their bodies against him.
Hornn even picked up her severed hand and attached it back.
"Amazing loyalty for vampires... it seems that during transformation, you were the center of their lives, and that part of their personality hasn't changed."
I nodded to this hypothesis.
"What do you want to do with us?"
Crowley asked calmly while embracing the two girls.
"Your girls... their aura is darker than yours. They enjoy playing with humans, right? You're lucky that your lord can actually be useful, otherwise your souls would have been forever locked away. From now on, you will not forcibly drink blood from humans, understood?"
I looked at them.
"Bu..."
Hornn wanted to say something but felt a slap on her butt and fell silent.
"Whom are you more loyal to, the vampire council or Crowley?"
I asked them.
"Hmm, of course, to Lord Crowley."
Chess chuckled somewhat carelessly almost childishly.
"I won't last long without blood and five days maximum, and I'll start losing control."
Crowley informed me with a smile as if he hadn't been tossed around like a rubber ball from building to building just recently.
"We'll have enough time for that."
I nodded.
"What was your task here?"
"I was just passing by and heard the noise. I was walking around expecting to encounter something interesting... and I wasn't wrong."
Crowley said.
"Lord Crowley, I was supposed to inform you that the Seventh Progenitor Ferid Bathory requested your presence on the front line."
Chess said as if remembering something.
"Geez, you should have said that at the beginning."
Crowley chuckled, still holding his hands on their waists, which they definitely liked.
"Well, there was troublesome food here... cough."
Chess pretended to be embarrassed and stuck out her tongue.
"The vampires' task is to destroy the Imperial Demon Army of Japan, right?"
I asked, and Crowley nodded.
"Krul Tepes declared war on humans at the meeting here."
Crowley shrugged.
"So yes, now the vampire army is attacking the wall,"
Crowley pointed behind his back where explosions and gunfire could be heard, and I even saw helicopters darting about.
...
[3rd POV]
"This is awesome! Now I understand. We're going to chop up all the vampires!"
Yuichiro yelled, continuing to run fairly fast towards the wall.
"Shut up!"
Shiho snapped at him.
"And keep running. We need to help our people!"
Shinoa ran after them with a pensive expression.
Experiments, Seraphs of the End... humans create a lot for survival and to become even stronger, so there's nothing surprising about that.
The cursed weapons are also an experiment; she agrees with Mitsuba that they are ready to go that far for power.
Tony's interest in her virgin cave piqued her interest... What else doesn't she know? Her "family" at the head of the Imperial Army of Japan... meaning things are far from simple.
"Yoichi! Shoot down the helicopter!"
Mitsuba shouted just as an explosion went off nearby from a missile.
Vampire helicopters were already flying over the city and bombarding human stronghold points.
"Got it!"
Yoichi exclaimed, drawing the string of his cursed weapon and immediately forming an energy projectile that he launched straight into the chopper and pierced it through.
"Hey, where's the main front line?"
Mitsuba asked the man with the headgear indicating that he was not just a regular soldier.
"I-It's on Fifth Street!"
He said this when realizing that he was facing Vampire Exterminators.
"Got it."
Mitsuba nodded.
"Squad, quickly deal with the vampires here and move to assist Lieutenant Colonel Guren."
Shinoa said, and everyone nodded.
They were easily dispatching the vampires here. Shinoa couldn't help but be impressed by the "enhancement" that exceeded the effectiveness of even their stimulants.
It was evident when Mitsuba struck a vampire with such force that he widened his eyes in shock.
The last thing he saw was Mitsuba's cursed weapon.
But there were still plenty of vampires around, and Shinoa didn't see any other elite squads of the Imperial Army.
Apparently, the Moon Demon Company squads were currently on the front line.
