Between the grape arbor and an old poplar tree, Clara had strung a rope to hang the clothes, which were not particularly valuable. She simply hung them up to dry in the sun.
Under the blazing sun, Clara hung the clothes one by one. Watching the linen garments sway in the breeze brought her a sense of happiness. She knew there would be more clothes and more happiness in the future.
Once the clothes were dry, Clara saw Mateo and Rowan starting to light the furnace from a distance. Since it wasn't cool weather, Clara went back inside to soak some green beans to cook for everyone later.
Rowan and Charles were in charge of lighting the furnace while Mateo and Henry went to fetch iron ore. Clara remembered Mateo mentioning finding black stones last time, so as he was about to leave, she grabbed a hat and said, "Wait for me, I'll go with you to see the black stones."
