Chapter 627: Shiller is Really a Good Person (Part 2)_2

"I first went to Bremen, then to Berlin, the capital of Germany. Originally, I wanted to go north, but I found the ecosystem here quite interesting, so I decided to stay a bit longer," he said.

"Were you first in the east or the west?" Shiller asked.

"The east, in the Soviet Union's occupied zone," Lucifer replied, and Shiller nodded.

It was the year 1989. The Berlin Wall had not completely collapsed and Berlin was still divided in half, with Soviet Union occupying East Berlin.

"I went west, trying to climb over the wall. I could have flown over it easily, but halfway through, I ran into a group of refugees, I suppose they were refugees, who also wanted to cross the wall."

"They seemed so desperate for the world on the other side, but they had no way to bypass the well-guarded checkpoints. So, I decided to help them by blending into the crowd. When we were close to the wall, I knocked out the guards using a spell, allowing them to successfully pass."

"But who would've known, as soon as they crossed over, they raised their guns and began shooting at me, calling me a monster, invoking God for help in punishing me."

"I thought since they see me as a monster, they wouldn't want my help. So, I sent them back where they came from," Lucifer shrugged. Constantine snickered, "You're still as twisted as ever."

"The gunfire near the wall was intense and I didn't want to get my clothes dirty, so I spread my wings and flew up."

"I flew over the wall and landed on the other side, looking for a quiet place to land. After all, sightseeing from the air doesn't give the same immersive experience."

"I purposely flew far away from the bustling streets and found a reasonably quiet alleyway in an old neigbourhood where I could land."

As Lucifer told his story, a scene unfolded before the two. In that particular era, every image seemed to be covered in a fog, becoming somewhat old and yellowish.

In the no longer bustling neighborhood of Berlin, the cold wind blew through the streets. A woman with a basket of bread hurried along, tightening her scarf, seemingly unaware of the sparrows she startled in her wake.

A silhouette landed in a quiet alley. The sun's rays shot directly into the alley, casting an unusual shadow against the grey brick wall. The figure in the alley looked tall and imposing, but also had a large pair of wings.

Lucifer's golden hair and grey feathers fluttered slightly in the wind. As he was adjusting his disheveled hair from flying, he heard a steady "tat-tat" of footsteps from behind.

The grey-winged angel turned around to see a young boy wearing a beret, a trench coat, and waterproof boots.

"How poetic, like a scene from a religious opera. A fallen angel lands on earth and meets a pure young boy. Is the next act him saving you or teaching you a lesson, and then you taking him to heaven?" Constantine sarcastically commented.

Shiller snorted and moved a bit further from Constantine, he reached for his water cup, ready to drink.

"No," Lucifer shook his head, then said, "He ran over to me...and then plucked one of my feathers."

"Cough! Cough!"

Shiller choked on water, and asked, "What did you say? What did I do???"

"You ran towards me, I thought you were going to hug me so I crouched down and wrapped you up with my wings, and then you reach out and pulled out one of my feathers."

Lucifer rested his elbow on table and his chin on his hand, looking sideways at Shiller.

Constantine's mouth fell open in surprise, "Isn't there something wrong with this story? Shouldn't you be holding him and teaching him some sort of valuable lesson?"

"That's what I thought as well, so I ended up losing a feather," said Lucifer, barely holding his laughter.

"So that feather wasn't given by you willingly but plucked by me?" Shiller asked.

"Why would I want to give you a feather?" Lucifer looked at Shiller and asked a very critical question. Shiller flipped his hand in surprise and said,"...Isn't it some sort of a communication device?"

"If it was a communication device, why would I need to come find you here directly?" Lucifer asked another soul-searching question.

"Wait, I have a question!" Constantine suddenly interrupted Lucifer. He asked, "Where was your defensive power? Even bullets and cannons can't harm you, you were actually plucked by a child? He could hurt you?"

Constantine knew how strong Lucifer was, he suddenly looked at Shiller differently, but Lucifer shook his head and said, "No, he didn't actually harm me."

"What you see now is not me, it's just a disguise. To make you feel like I'm one of you, I look like this."

"In reality, I'm everywhere." Lucifer suddenly disappeared. His voice still echoed in the room, "Just like this, I undid the disguise. I can still talk to you and still exist in this room, just in a form that you cannot observe."

After that, Lucifer reappeared on the chair. He continued, "That's why, when he pulled out my feather, he didn't hurt me. I can't be hurt."

"You can say that he ruined part of my disguise, making my appearance in the world less complete, but in reality, I did not lose any energy."

"Why was he able to pluck your feathers?" Constantine asked.

Touching his chin, Lucifer said, "I have been thinking about this. The most reasonable explanation is that, young human children seem to be able to see through and destroy my disguise with their pure and undistracted thoughts."

"Which means..." Constantine looked at Shiller, expressing a somewhat complex emotion. Lucifer nodded and said:

"The young Shiller purely, without distraction or ulterior motives, and for apparently no reason, just wanted to pluck one of my feathers."
