Wraith moved forward in great skill and speed, her body flexed in her excitement of the hunt. She had her unnatural colored eyes upon a stygimoloch who was a royal blue shade with a white face. The herbivore was so much smaller than Wraith, which meant that they would not cause much harm against her.
Of course with Wraith's mutations, the herbivore won't last long.
A sharp sound of movement, Wraith ran out in a sharp yet powerful sprint making her almost appear as a blur as she ran up. The herbivore looked over in pure shock, their voice was a sharp sound of terror.
Baldur watched and blinked as a large herbivore swung their tail fast at Wraith.
"..!", Baldur could not believe that a conscious parasaurolophus could launch a attack against a carnivore like Wraith. Usually their kind ran away from the first sight of danger, however he ran right into battle with no hesitation.
Wraith crossed her arms in her attempt to block the attack, she landed on the ground afterwards as she looked up at the parasaurolophus with narrowed eyes.
The parasaurolophus was without a doubt a male, his crest upon his head was a sharp color of teal. His body was a dark brown with a white underbelly. He stood before the smaller herbivore as he glared at Wraith.
"I suggest you leave.", snorted the parasaurolophus.
Wraith smirked standing up, she was not hurt from the attack by his tail. But he did attack her pretty hard, which meant that he was not afraid to get roughed up. "Why should I leave? Besides, I'm in the mood for some rough play."
Wraith had a smirk upon her onyx lips, she looked at the herbivore he was guarding. She looked up at him with a cold sneer.
The parasaurolophus glared, and at his side appeared two therizinosaurus who were both heavily armored from head to toe. Wraith blinked and glared. It would seem that these herbivores could handle themselves well. They obviously didn't play around either.
Baldur smirked at the sight of the herbivores, they obviously could hold their own. This also meant that this would be a challenge, and with every challenge it meant more fun.
Baldur gave a sound toward Wraith, Wraith of course heard it and she hissed loudly in pure anger and annoyance. She wanted to hurt something!
But it would seem that she would have to wait.
Baldur knew that Wraith could handle herself on her own, but these herbivores were going to fight back against them. If anything she helped him see how serious the herbivores were, and by discovering this was he going to put his clan to the test.
If they could defeat these herbivores, then they could definitely defeat anything in their way.
Tonight his clan would attack these herbivores, and he didn't doubt that the herbivores would be ready for the attack.
Wraith slowly walked away, she glared at the parasaurolophus as she did so.
The parasaurolophus watched her leave, he had armor on as well. His armor was a mixture of wood and some bones, his crest upon his head had sharp yet colorful leaves tied to it by vines.
Carnivores used skulls to show to others that they lead a clan, herbivores used colorful large leaves that they dye to show their leadership.
Herbivores could use skulls, but to them that was disgusting. Not to mention it was against their code.
Different factions had different views. This was clear.
Wraith looked at Baldur quite upset, but she blinked when he smiled.
"Just wait.", spoke Baldur in a cold tone. "It will be worth it tonight."
Wraith didn't say anything in response, she walked away toward the others.
Baldur smirked as he looked back at the herbivores, the parasaurolophus was watching them from a far. He clearly didn't like carnivores, why else would he rush over and attack one recklessly.
Baldur turned away smirking, they would return tonight.
As Baldur disappeared into the trees, the parasaurolophus kept his eyes on that general direction. His green eyes didn't blink once as he stared.
"Hawkeye, Thank you for saving me.", softly spoke the stygimoloch who looked up at him with her hands to her chest.
Hawkeye stared for a moment more before looking at her with a smile. "Don't mention it, Rain."
Rain smiled shyly before looking in the direction that the carnivores had went. "Who were they...?"
Hawkeye gave a sigh, he closed his eyes before continuing, "They are exactly what they are. Carnivores."
Rain looked at him with saddened eyes, "Why do they attack us? Even though they could think or feel they..."
Hawkeye slowly turned to look at her, he lowered his head to look at her. "This is how it always has been for years. I guess it will never change."
Rain looked down, "I wish that things can change..."
Hawkeye frowned, "We have to pray and be grateful with what we have. Before to long we may not have all that we have."
Rain looked at him as she slowly nodded, "I know. Never demand. Never be greedy. Right?"
Hawkeye chuckled, "Right."
Rain giggled as she nodded. "Hehe!"
Hawkeye looked at the two therizinosaurus that were guards. He looked at Rain as he said, "Let's go gather some more food."
Rain nodded as walked beside him with a smile.
To some, there was not much difference to how some live. But there was a difference, and that was why did they continue to live when things were difficult. What were they living for?
They were living so they could see the future. A future that they can create.
The future would be different from another all depending on those who would persevere till the end.
Would the future be a utopia or would it be a hell?
That was uncertain.
Confrontations. Disagreements. Pain. Death.
The world right now seems like hell, but would it get better?
The herbivores believed that everything was meant to be in order. Without order there would be no structure for a so called 'paradise'. That was why so many were working hard to put things in order.
They dare not cross lines but that didn't go for some carnivores. It would seem that no matter how hard they try to get along, they will always be enemies.
As Hawkeye sees to his people, Baldur sees to his.
"Stupid herbivore!", hissed Wraith under her breath.
Scarecrow looked at her, "Did you seriously attack them?"
Wraith didn't look at him as she spoke, "Yes, so what?"
Thrash smirked, "Don't get all pouty! Wait till tonight!"
Wraith glared at Thrash as she showed her fangs.
Baldur smirked looking at Wraith, he soon looked at everyone else. "These herbivores are going to fight back, so you all better return the favor tonight."
Fiend smirked with a scoff, "Just don't die alright?"
Baldur smirked at his words clearly not worried.
Razer chuckled, he flexed his claws in anticipation. "I can't wait to get my hands on some herbivores!"
Juggernaut smiled, "It will be amusing once things start heating up."
Sawtooth looked to be in thought, he looked at Baldur in silence.
Baldur and his clan were ready for pain, while the herbivores continued to work together to live.
It just now depends on teamwork and what side was strongest. This will of course be determined tonight.
Two different factions facing off like they had done so many times before.
As the sky took on a dark color thanks to the evening did Baldur and his clan move out. They were ready for the fight.
They slowly stalked forward like the carnivores that they were. Baldur of course was leading them with a large yet nasty smirk.
As they moved closer to the herbivores, Hawkeye took notice of the change in the air. Something that he had mastered so long ago. He had already put his words into action, those that could not fight like Rain were told to hide.
Hawkeye had his armor on much like the others who could fight, he had a plan which he was going to use it. He doubted that the carnivores had a plan, for so many years one thing has not changed and that was their reckless decision to charge in.
Sure, some of them can be smart. It was just that they chose to not be smart. Perhaps it was to difficult for them to think up a plan?
Hawkeye soon saw the carnivores approaching, he of course walked up and he spoke. "I suggest you turn around if you know what is good for you. I don't want any trouble."
Though it was not night, the crickets chirped to let many know that night was approaching.
Baldur smirked, "To bad, looks like trouble has found you."
Once Baldur spoke these words did Razer sprint forward due to his excitement. Hawkeye stood tall not at all backing away.
Soon Baldur ran forward much like everyone else but they all blinked seeing Razer fall, his massive frame hit the floor hard.
"What the hell!?!", snarled Thrash.
Razer struggled to get to his feet, both of his feet were caught in a hole. He hit the floor hard, and his ankle was swollen.
Hawkeye had prepared for this, and had made holes around the outside of his camp. Razer blind to the holes, fell into one of them.
Juggernaut looked at Razer before glaring, "You cowards!"
Hawkeye retorted, "There is a difference between cowardice and intelligence. I clearly have intellect unlike you lot."
Thrash snarled loudly, "You little..!?!"
Razer struggled to his feet and limped over to Baldur and the others with his swollen ankle.
Fiend looked at Baldur, "What now?"
Baldur glared walking forward, he focused on the ground. It was quite impressive, he couldn't see where any of the holes could be. This herbivore hid them well.
Wraith clicked her tongue as she ran forward, she jumped from one side to another in a skilled manner. She had skillfully dodged the holes and once she made it through the entrance of the camp was she met with a spiked tail from a well armored stegosaurus.
She dodged the attack, the power from the tail swipe made her darkened feathers move.
Wraith did a backflip to another attack from the stegosaurus.
While Wraith made it to the camp, Baldur had entered the camp after watching the ground carefully. The moment his eyes left the ground was he rammed into by a triceratops, one of the trikes horns had stabbed right into his side.
Baldur glared clearly pissed off about the attack that he grabbed the trike by the head and pushed its head back sharply.
This caused the head of the triceratops to go backwards, thus breaking its neck.
"..!", Hawkeye blinked and glared. After seeing the death of one of his comrades he dashed forward. While Baldur was focused on putting the dead trike down, Hawkeye turned himself fast to deliver a hard tail whack to Baldur's face.
The sound of the impact was loud and hard.
Wraith blinked having seen Baldur be hit, she dodged another attack from the stegosaurus before being hit by one of the therizinosaurus. Baldur fell backwards from the hit that his back landed in a hole that was uncovered.
Juggernaut stood beside Razer to give him balance, he looked at Fiend who frowned.
These herbivores had some tricks up their sleeve.
It was clear that they had experience with carnivores before. "Let's go.", spoke Juggernaut who walked away.
They couldn't get close to that camp anyhow thanks to those invisible holes that the herbivores hid well. Baldur stood up and watched as Juggernaut, Razer, Fiend, and Scarecrow began to leave. Sawtooth followed after them, it would seem his thoughts were right. This was proof that this attack was destined to fail.
The tyrant glared as he moved away from the the herbivores. Baldur had learned a hard lesson, if he didn't plan ahead they were not going to win.
It was infuriating! To lose to herbivores.
Wraith soon ran away after her new clan, her shoulder bled thanks to the talons from the therizinosaurus.
As they fled, Hawkeye watched them leave. It would seem that brains had defeated the carnivores, for now. They would return, that he knew.
This first battle was won, but he had lost one of his comrades. Hawkeye didn't have many large herbivores to fight, which was why he thought of a plan. This plan saved them from many deaths.
Hawkeye would perform a funeral for the fallen trike, that much he deserved.
As Baldur chased after his clan, his blood was boiling do to his rage. There would be harsh words shared tonight.
Baldur led a clan, but he clearly had much to learn. He couldn't rule the lands if he can't lead, in a clan you work together to overcome the many struggles. If you only do things yourself, you were not going to get far.
So it looks like Baldur is not a good leader, but of course he only cares about himself.
Then there is the herbivore clan led by Hawkeye, who has proven that he is a capable leader. What will happen when these two clans meet again? Find out in the next chapter!
