Chapter 6: Escape

When I finished thinking about the escape plan, I noticed the two children looking at me with a strange face. They were my subordinates; the one who used to call me boss was named Clayton, and the silent girl was named Eirlys. You could say they were my right and left hand, respectively. They had a look on their faces as if they were wondering if I hadn't gone crazy. I imagine that, from their perspective, I was talking to myself and showing grimaces and expressions for no reason. Apparently their concern got the better of them, and oddly enough, the one who asked the question first was not Clayton, who was more talkative, but Eirlys, who didn't talk much unless it was necessary."Lucien, are you okay, what happened to you earlier?"Asked with concern, to which I didn't know how to answer because I'm still internally conflicted, having an identity crisis and the weight of memories flooding my mind of events I should avoid. But that's not for others to know, so I forced a smile and said."Yeah, I'm fine, it was just a little headache." After saying that, they both looked at me doubtfully, since it obviously wasn't a simple headache. Wanting to change the subject, I started telling them about my escape plan."boss that 'plan is too risky." When I informed them that I was basically going to annihilate all the kidnappers they objected, but I told them that I had woken up and was very strong. They were both surprised when I mentioned that I was an awakened one. so they didn't object anymore and our escape began. Then, making sure there was no one around, I approached the cell door and put my hand on the latch, controlling what little hand I have to move the internal mechanism of the latch. I opened it. Then, I looked at the rest of the cells and realized that there were too many, and I would spend most of my mana that I am saving for escape. So I made the decision to leave them alone for now and find the keys to the cells. The three of us walked towards the only door in this prison. As I approached, I signaled them to be quiet. Then I closed my eyes and focused the mana on my other senses. I could then notice that there was only one person and he was asleep on the other side of the door. Doing the same as with the cell, I opened the lock on the door. I slowly approached the guy, took his dagger and with a quick movement made a cut that silenced him for good. The sudden pain woke him up and he grabbed his neck, but his reaction was in vain. Looking in my direction he wanted to say something, but no words could come out and he simply fell to the ground and died. I could see in his eyes reluctance and other complicated feelings. Perhaps it never occurred to him that he would die today, much less did he think that the children he only saw as merchandise would be the cause of his death.Although this would not be the first time I have ended a life, I noticed that the road I have to travel is stained in blood, causing mixed feelings to resurface. One part of me is not used to blood, and another sees it as normal. Taking a deep breath, I went on with what I had to do.Rummaging through the guard's body, I found the keys to the cells, as well as a small bottle of green liquid. With my eyes of truth, I could tell it was a healing potion of the lowest rank, something only good for healing minor wounds. Continuing my search, I also found a firearm with 4 bullets. It only worked on normal people, but that was enough for this situation. After putting away the things I took out, I turned around and saw my companions, who had a complicated look on their faces and seemed to want to ask me some questions, but this was not the time.So I walked towards the cells and I could notice that all the children were awake and were looking at me with an expression of expectation and fear, the Hera door visible from all the cells so they could witness what happened. Before releasing them, I gave them some instructions so they would not interfere with the plan. After I made sure they understood, I opened the cells. As I counted, I noticed that the number of children was 23, which would assure me of more than 200 (SP). Continuing on, I decided to follow the escape , Beyond the corpse, were some stairs. I climbed them, making sure not to make any noise. and quietly warning the two dozen or so children to make as little noise as possible. Again, there was another door. This one was unlocked.Scanning what's outside with my enhanced senses, I noticed that everyone on the second floor was asleep, probably nighttime, something I didn't notice because no sunlight reached the dungeon where we were being held. The situation is more advantageous than I expected. Signaling the children to stay in place, I slowly opened the door. There were eight men spread out on the second floor, they seemed to be sleeping soundly thanks to the alcohol, probably celebrating for the money they would get for the capture of the children. I approached the closest guy with the dagger in my hands and aimed at his vital areas, sealing his mouth with the other hand, trying not to wake up the others.I continued with the remaining 7. It seemed that they had drunk too much alcohol; none of them woke up until death was in front of their eyes. Then, I concentrated my senses on the second floor, which allowed me to detect 4 presences: two unconscious and two still awake, they were in pairs in separate rooms. Thinking about my next moves as I climbed the stairs, I first entered the room of the unconscious people. There I could see a man and a woman asleep. The woman had multiple wounds. Understanding the situation, I approached the sleeping man and, like the eight below, I cut noiselessly avoiding waking the woman. I decided not to do anything to her, as she did not seem to be linked to the kidnappers. As I was leaving the room to go to the next, an unsettling feeling came over me. A flash of movement caught my attention, but it was too late to react. I could only perceive the shadow of something moving towards me.
