Chapter 38

“Well, darlin,’ guess I better get cleaned up,” Hank said.

“Yep, I need it too,” Brad replied.

“I’ll call ya when we leave Macon for Lexington in the mornin’. Bye for now.”

“Bye for now,” Brad replied and blew a kiss into the phone.

The kiss was returned.

Brad smiled, took a deep breath, got up and put on his robe to go to the bathroom to shower. He met David coming out of the room he shared with Andy.

“Hey, Brad,” he said with a wink. “How’s Hank?”

“Uh…what?” Brad stammered.

“I sure hope that was him you were talking with just now,” David said, smiling and winking once more.

Brad felt heat rising in his cheeks. “Um…yeah it was,” he managed to get out.

David laughed again, tousled Brad’s hair, and let him pass.

“Holy crap!” Brad shouted. “Can’t these fuckin’ weather idiots get anything right?”

“Bradley!” Bertha reprimanded as she came into the family room where Brad stood watching The Weather Channel.
