Su Feng approached his Bugatti with Song Ren; he opened the car door for her like a gentleman, as she hopped in.
The ride to the restaurant was silent.
They went to the top level of a hotel where an exclusive lounge and restaurant located. A waiter took them to a private booth with a skyscraper window view. Song Ren removed her coat and immediately picked up the menu.
Su Feng ordered drinks for them, and when the waiter came around again, she asked, "What will you two like to eat today?"
Su Feng picked out many dishes with all the food Song Ren liked: Snow crab, Calamari, rice, fried noodles, and soup. Song Ren wondered why she felt nervous. Su Feng must have picked up her favourite dishes since he began to stay at her home. There was no point in glancing at the menu.
Shortly after the waiter left, Su Feng said, "I'm moving back home tomorrow."
Song Ren glanced up at him and nodded, "All right."
Su Feng hoped that Song Ren would have felt sad about him leaving, but he knew that Song Ren was not the type to admit something that made her feel vulnerable.
"I was hoping that you can visit me sometime," he said.
"Why would I do that?" she questioned genuinely. Su Fent felt a tang of pain in his chest. He cleared his throat, "Is it okay if I visit you?" he asked.
Song Ren met his gaze, and loosed a breath, "I guess you can," she said.
At that, Su Feng smiled like a boy speaking to his crush. Song Ren could not help but feel her cheeks heat. Why does he look so happy? She didn't do much.
The dishes came, and Song Ren began to devour her meals as she had not eaten anything since breakfast. After some time, she glanced up to see Su Feng staring at her with a sly smile.
"What?" she questioned softly with a mouthful.
"Nothing," he said. Su Feng did not want to tell her that when she ate food, she would unconsciously smile. It appears that she did enjoy eating, despite being too busy to go out for meals. He was afraid that if he told her that Song Ren would reserve her emotions. Every day, he was beginning to see more sides of her; and was worried that she would push him away if he did or say the wrong thing.
"I want you to meet my family," he said, out of the blue.
Song Ren froze. She knew that meeting his family was inevitable. Su Feng had already met her parent's, and it would be the same in return. But she came from new and old money, and she was afraid that his parents would dislike her despite approving their engagement.
"When?" she asked.
"Soon," he responded while cutting a piece of medium-rare steak.
Song Ren nodded, "All right," she agreed.
Su Feng smiled to himself blissfully. He could not help but feel warm because the girl he liked was going to meet his family.
