Chapter 168

Felix Salvatore's POV

I saw a familiar face come inside our tent together with the messenger I sent to the Castellans. Sky came in, geared up in his armor with a serious look on his face.

"Sky, why are you here?" Yan asked as he saw our close friend come.

"Lix, I am here as a representative of the Castellan." Sky answered. "We, the Rutchels and the Polits have made an alliance to fight with them."

Yan was speechless at the information.

"I came here to tell you of the plan we had made with them so you can work with us." Sky added.

I nodded at him. "Speak."

Sky gave us all the information we need in order to help the Knights of Noktis protect the land. He also gave us a rough description of what will happen during the fight.

"So you're telling me that the Knights of Noktis will be the first ones to fight the demon beasts and we will take care of the ones who will get past them?" I asked him.

"Yes." Sky nodded. "And she said that you would be more useful that way."

"She?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Lady Castellan." He answered. "She was the one who made the plans."

This Lady Castellan is also a tactician?

An Archduchess who cooped up and hid in her territory after being attacked was a tactician?

"The Archduchess must be very knowledgeable to come up with such a plan." Yan spoke up after listening about the plan. "But does she think that their knights are invisible? It's like she is sacrificing their knights."

"The Archduchess?" Sky looked at Yan. "She has nothing to do with the plan."

"What?" Yan and I asked in sync.

"The lady Castellan that I spoke of is the eldest daughter of House Castellan and the vessel of the goddess Parsua, Melody Castellan." Sky stunned us with the information.

"Wait.. Isn't the eldest daughter only a year younger than us?" Yan asked, his eyes going wide.

Sky nodded in confirmation.

"You're telling me that a ten year old girl made that suicide plan?" Yan exclaimed as he held my arm.

Sky nodded again.

"And that ten year old girl will be leading their knights on that suicide mission?!" Yan exclaimed still grasping my arm.

"Yes, and she is also bringing her younger sisters with her to the front." Sky answered with a straight face.

"Is that true? How old are her sisters? They are basically just kids! The youngest should be around Susan's age and she will bring them to the frontline? AND you agreed?!" Yan held Sky on his shoulder and shook him.

Sky slapped Yan's hands away and looked at us. His face was serious and he had on a determined look.

"Do not underestimate those girls." He spoke in a low voice as if revering those girls. "They are far stronger than you could ever think."

Those were Sky's last words before he left our tent to go back and lead their knights. Without his father, Sky was the next leader of their knights. His mother had also participated in battles before but she was a healer, she cannot fight and lead the knights herself.

I glanced towards my friend, he was standing on the other side, in front of his knights. Just like me. But he was calm and alert, just like his father. We have played together, saw each other almost everyday as we are of the same age and our parents are quite close with each other. We have trained under the same master. All three of us were like brothers, him, Yan and me.

Now I see him trusting someone else, I felt betrayed, just like how Yan is feeling right now. I know he trusts me too because he came to us before going to the Castellans, but seeing how much he trusts someone else, I felt sour. Jealous is not my thing.

I looked at the group of knights in the far front. They were wearing black armor and stood straight as a pole. There were only around twenty of them but it felt like I'm looking at a whole army, ready and strong. It was obvious how well they were trained in case of a battle, so well that one cannot feel any fear from them.

What aroused my curiosity was the three girls in front of the knights, wearing dresses. They looked like they were just looking around, not minding the beasts that were about to come. They had silver hair and was facing away from me so I can only see their backs.

Castellan.

The family blessed by the gods and goddesses, the protectors of the kingdom. They used to be revered by people but after they kept to themselves for years, people thought that they lost the blessings from the gods as started to spite them. Yet now, they stood in front of us, protecting a territory that does not even belong to them.

"How amusing." I spoke to myself as I watched the three girls talk among themselves.
