Police station

(Investigation room)

Leo was in charge of the John case.

Leo – "What is your name?"

John – John Hames.

Leo – "Age?"

John – "23."

Leo – "Where are you from?"

John – "Dennardo."

Leo – "When did you reach here?"

John – "I reached Dentaro around 8 am."

Leo – "What are doing during the 8 am – 12 pm?"

John – "Looking for the G1J1 house of my friend."

Leo – "Why did it take so much time for you to find your friend's house?"

John – "This was my first time to Dentaro and I also got lost."

Leo – "Why did you try to break into the G1G1 house?"

John sitting in the interrogation room – "Sir, it is G1J1 house."

Leo – "Yes, G1J1 house."

John – "Sir, it is my friend's house."

Leo – "Then call your friend."

John – "His phone is on out of network coverage area."

Leo – "See, you can't prove you are his friend."

John – "Sir, I showed you my picture with him."

Leo – "It doesn't prove you are his friend. Also, it doesn't prove he allowed you to enter his house."

John - "Sir, I even have the key with me."

Leo – "But the key doesn't seem to work."

John – "…"

Leo – "You have to wait for him until your friend come back and give his testimony."

John – "When he will come back?"

Leo – "How should I know about that?"

John – "Then, call him and ask him."

Leo – "But he was in out of coverage area."

John – "…"

At the time James entered the investigation room.

Leo – "Captain"

James – "Still, the investigation was not finished?"

John looked blankly at the two police officers as he was innocent, to begin with.

Leo – "No, he is stubborn to accept his crime."

John – "…"

James – "Let's leave it alone for now. Put someone in charge of the case. We have a new murder case."

Leo – "Okay, cap."

With this, both of them left the investigation room. Later another policeman came into the investigation room with some notes.

Pedro – "Why did you try to break into the G1G1 house? Can you prove it's your friend's house? Then call your friend. See, you can't prove you are his friend. Even if you have the group picture with him, it doesn't prove you are his friend. Also, it doesn't prove he allowed you to enter his house. Maybe you killed him and buried him somewhere. Later came back to destroy all the evidence. Then, you got caught by the police."

John – "…" and he thought "What's with the sudden change in route of the case? When did I become a murderer?"

The investigation continued for 30 minutes.

Seeing that John was acting innocent even after 30 minutes of investigation, Pedro left the room in anger.

John who was left alone in the room felt sleepy. Later John fell asleep due to the tired of travelling from long distances.

Around midnight John woke up from sleep, with tears filling his eyes. It showed the sadness built in the dream.

John's eyes were red remembering the mother's face in the dream. He felt sorry for his mother Elizabeth, anger followed when he remembered the tragic death of his mother. His anger was towards his father Steven Hames and his step-mother Laura.

Flashback

John used to have a happy family. But his father cheated on his mother and kept it hidden for 6 years. Five years before his mother found about her husband's affair, lived like her soul was lost. She trusted her husband and loved him more than anyone. Feeling betrayed, she got a divorce from Steven. Steven married his lover Laura as his wife, and Laura become the step-mother of Steven. They even have an 11 years old son in this affair.

John supported his mother, thus moved with his mother. But last month Elizabeth died in a car accident. John was sad losing his only family, as his father never cared about him after his second marriage. But John accidentally found that the accident of Elizabeth was a planned murder by his father and step-mom. The reason was to obtain the properties from Elizabeth after her death by exploiting John. Unexpectedly, Elizabeth has already transferred all the properties to John's name but kept it secret. John wants to go to the police department but later found his father influences the local police department. Fearing his safety john left the Dennardo and planned to move with his friend's home in Denaro. But he got arrested for the wrong charges. John wanted to revenge for his mother's death.

John lost his sleep and the smile he had in the morning. He just sat there in the chair looking at the bulb thinking deeply about something.

Next day

John's friend Samuel who came back home in the morning found about the situation from his neighbour. He drove his car towards the police station where John was detained.

After completing all the procedures, Samuel bought John out of the police station.

John – "I will never forget this scene in my life."

Samuel – "It was my mistake, as I should have mentioned the door's lock was malfunctioning."

John – "It's okay. But they said I killed you. That the hard thing to accept."

Samuel – "Hahaha"

John – "Laugh, Laugh. I am in this mess because of you."

Samuel closed his mouth, but you can still hear his smiling sound.

John felt helpless. He came yesterday but he still hasn't entered his friend's house. But he became a guest in the police station for a night. "Ha, What a fate?"

When both of them returned to the G1J1 house, the news of the misunderstanding already spread in the neighbourhoods.

John noticed also noticed this. He felt sorry for himself as he became a joke for the neighbourhood.

Sarah also heard about this, when she came to the supermarket. As John was the hot topic for the day. Sarah found it was John she met yesterday, with all the circumstances she remembered.

Sarah was staying on the first floor. She was cleaning her apartment. When she opened the window towards the backyard. She saw John in the opposite window, who just opened his room window.

Sarah and John were surprised to see each other. As each of them remembered yesterday.

John shouted loud – "Hey, you should have told. That you were my neighbour."

Sarah shouted – "I also don't know."

John – "Then, as punishment can you buy me a lunch?"

Sarah hesitated for a moment and replied – "Okay. But it can't be anything costlier. As I was jobless."

John was happy for free meals and said – "Okay. Then, what about your phone number?"

Sarah – "*********"

John registered the number and called Sarah. Sarah saved the number. With both of them confirming this lunch, they went to do their work before lunch.

Around 1 pm both of them went to the nearby restaurant.

John – "Free foods are always tasty."

Sarah – "But it was not for me."

John – "Don't blame me. I just got out of the police station this morning."

The nearby customers hearing this looked at John with strange looks.

John got used to it and continued his talk with Sarah.

John – "At the same time, Samuel left for his work."

Sarah – "Don't you have work."

John – "I just came yesterday. But you are already asking about my work. Then, can you arrange a job for me?"

Sarah – "No, just curiosity. I am also jobless, so don't expect anything from me. I am also helpless."

John – "It's okay. I have some money, for now, to get through. But I am planning to look for a part-time job. What about you?"

Sarah – "Ahh, I don't know. But I have to look for it."

But before she can continue, she saw someone and fear filled her face. John also saw the changes in Sarah.

John turned back to see, who she was afraid of. John saw a man with his girlfriend behind him, walking towards them. But they didn't seem to see them, as they were chatting.

John saw Sarah, moving her head down trying to hide her face.

The man and his girlfriend passed their table, moved towards the second floor of the restaurant. But John heard the voice of the girl saying "Hey, Charles I think I saw the bitch who charged the false rape complaint towards you and your friends."

Charles – "No way, how can she show her face in public after that."

Girlfriend – "Maybe mistaken. Just forgot about this."

Charles smiled, but after turning face. His face got distorted with anger. Charles has seen Sarah having lunch with another man. In mind, Charles thought, "How dare she? She rejected me before and got her lesson. But now having lunch in public with another man. Did she forget about the previous lesson? Maybe she needs more, to be obedient." But Charles faces only showed a smile and acted as a good person.

John pretty much guessed what happened, but didn't mention the matter to Sarah. As he doesn't want to build a wrong idea towards a person with no evidence and without having known about truth like in his mother's death.

After Charles entry, Sarah was not active as before. Both of them walked towards their place of stay.

Sarah – "Don't you have anything to ask?"

John – "About what?"

Sarah – "The incident in the restaurant."

John – "If you wanted to say, you would have said it to me. I don't think it is a good habit to force someone."

Sarah – "You are pretty much different from everyone."

John – "I don't think so. Everyone has their secret to hide."
