"Tell your father to call me soon, won't you?" Rugar said to me before I stepped off of the plane.
"Of course," I tell him. As Tara and I made our way to our luggage, she kept bragging about Rugar's son and her being soulmates... let me tell ya... I was annoyed... but the bundles of nerves going through me at this moment and the constant thoughts going through my mind are keeping me from telling her to shut up. Once we grabbed our luggage, Tara followed me.
When I saw a sign with my name on it, getting held in the air, I slowed down and sort of took my time to get there, it was a little difficult since Tara would keep dragging me.
When we got to the possessor of the sign, my emotions were mixed between nervous, excited, happy, and wanting to cry.
"CAMBRY," She screamed while jumping on me and hugging me to death.
"Hey, Leilani," I say, with the same excitement in my voice as her.
"I freakin missed you," She says while pulling away... that's when she finally noticed Tara. "You must be Tara," She asks, giving her a fake glare, and I could tell that Tara was getting a little nervous. "It's so nice to meet you," Leilani hugged Tara with excitement if that's even possible.
"Should we get going, Ms. Jaxon?" A voice asked, surprising me.
"Bryan?" I ask, a little surprised. "You still working for my parents?" I ask, still shocked.
"Of course, Ms. Jaxon," He says, acting his normal professional act.
"Bryan... I really missed you," I say, giving him a smile while hugging him. Bryan... he's the butler of our household... he was practically my uncle... the best uncle... he would treat me like his child... he and Lisa couldn't have children...but he said he didn't care because I was his bundle of joy... we would do everything together practically... and he would be there when I had nightmares when my parents were gone... which was a lot.
"Yes, Ms. Jaxon," He says, hugging me back.
"Bryan... it's Cambry, remember?" I ask, nervous as to why he's acting this way... I figured he'd at least show a little happiness for my arrival.
"Yes, Ms. Cambry, we must be going now," He says while leading us out of the exit. Wow, so much for a welcome.
"What's up with him?" I ask Leilani.
"Don't let him fool you... he was excited in the car on the way over... he just doesn't want to show his excitement because he's embarrassed," She says while pulling me and Tara with her. "And don't think I didn't notice your accent gone... we'll get that back," she says, making me chuckle along with her.
"Where's mom and dad?" I ask a bundle of nerves fills my chest.
"They're just finishing something up," She lies... it's not hard to tell when my best friend lies. She finally looked up into my eyes to notice my glare. "Okay, fine... they were talking to people about dinner tonight," She says.
"Whatever," I say, kind of sad... I've been gone for five years and they can't take some time from their schedule just to see their daughter.
"By the way..." We get into the car. "You look really cute," Leilani says, talking about my outfit which was a black shirt that had the word ARMY on it, a red beanie, black ripped jeans, and white converse.
"Thank you... you look amazing too," I told her while side hugging her. "And you do too," I side hug, Tara.
"Aw... thanks," They both say.
"Are you ready?" Tara asks me, concerned.
"As long as I have my best friends with me, I think I'll be fine," I tell them while hugging both of them.

When we arrived at the house, Tara, Leilani, and I all got out and made our way into the house while Bryan grabbed me and Tara's bags.
"Mamá," I call as we all walk into the house. Even after the years that have passed, I still haven't abandoned the name I've always called her.
"Cambry?" my mom questions while walking into the doorway hall from the kitchen.
"Hey," I give her a sweet smile even though I was having a heart attack at the sight of her... she's changed... her hair was her natural brown hair and greyish hazel eyes... the genes I enjoyed from her... But now... she dyed her hair black... she still looks beautiful though.
"Oh... my beautiful girl... my baby girl is back," She says while letting her tears fall on me while she has her arms wrapped around me.
"I'm back," I whisper while hugging her back.
"I missed you, my baby girl," She says while pulling away and wiping my tears... tears that I didn't feel fall.
"I missed you too, mamá," I told her while giving her a smile.
"My daughter?" My father asks while walking out of the living room with his usual drink: A whiskey on the rocks.
"Father," I say to him in a monotone voice.
"Look at that- you have grown to a beautiful young woman," He says while wrapping an arm around me.
"A man: Rugar Jonas says hello," I tell my father while pushing away from him- I've never liked the smell of whiskey and smoke mixed together- but that seemed like my dad's signature cologne.
"That old man... he was a great friend... I invited him... he said he will try to make it to dinner... but I think the old chap has a family to get home to," He answers. "Anyways... Bryan should have already taken your bags up to your room... Tara was it? Your bag should be in the guest room... I believe Cambry can show you where that is," He says while making his way down the hall... probably to his office... he spent a lot of his days off there instead of with mom and me... but mom still believed that he loves us.
"Wear a nice dress, all three of you," My mom tells Tara, Leilani, and me.
"Yes mom," I tell her while heading upstairs.
"Hey, Cam... I think I'm going to go home to get ready... I'll see you at dinner," Leilani says to me before walking out the door.
Once Tara and I got upstairs, I showed her to the guest room which is temporarily her room, and headed to my room... it was still the same... the black curtains that went to the floor... which was helpful since it was blocking the sun for coming into my room from the balcony... the grey and white rug in the center of my room was still the same... my bed covered in the same XXL black Minky... my thick grey carpet was kept up... along with my room... it was clean from any dust or particles... the grey and black walls made it that much nicer... the two colors always seemed to go together... like peanut butter and jelly or milk and cereal... my rock out posters were still on my walls... My Chemical Romance posters... Panic At The Disco... Imagine Dragons... Blink 182... plus the wall that I painted... I remember when I finished... my parents were so pissed at what I painted on the blank white wall that they left open...
my parents were so pissed at what I painted on the blank white wall that they left open
I always felt tied to that picture... My parents have controlled me like a puppet since I was a baby... from what I wore to what I did... I wanted to feel free... plus all the fighting I did... the rebelling... they didn't understand... I just needed their attention... I needed them to take days off to hang out with their only daughter... but they couldn't even take three seconds just to say "I love you"
Plus the ceiling that I painted:
They didn't notice I painted it until I left
They didn't notice I painted it until I left. I know that because about a week later after I arrived at the school, they called the school to yell at me. That was the last conversation I had with them since I last saw them, and now here I am.
Once I have checked everything out, I decided to see what kind of dresses I have, which were a lot. I never took them with me. Okay, that's a lie. I took two with me and I was lucky because they have a dance to celebrate our year. Guys from a school in a city come over and we all dance together. It may sound boring, but it was so fun.
Instead of deciding now, I decided to get into the shower and wait to decide.

Once I was finished getting ready, I checked myself in the mirror. The beautiful silky baby blue dress complimented my hair very well, my makeup was done to perfection. Well, all I put on was some mascara and lipgloss.
When I opened my door, Tara was standing outside my door, almost nervous
When I opened my door, Tara was standing outside my door, almost nervous.
"You alright?" I ask, concerned.
"Yeah. It's just- I feel so out of place. I mean look at me. You, your mom, and Leilani are so beautiful- then there's me-" She points to herself in her beautiful black dress and her beautiful complexion which wasn't in need of makeup. She was naturally beautiful and she feels this way? Dang, this girl.

"You look beautiful... I mean... look at you... you pull that dress off better than anyone ever could... you look better than me... and you don't wear makeup... get that through your head... because it's the truth," I tell her... it's the truth... and she deserves to hear it... "I'm not even joking... the black dress looks amazing with your red hair," I tell her.
"Thank you," She says with a small blush as I take her hand and make our way downstairs.
