Saying goodbye to Atlanna, Orm, and Hila they left the next morning. They went to visit Louisiana. The spell would take time to form. As well as a lock on to his cultivation that was separated from him. Noveria did quite a number on him.
Pamela and Harleen joined them on this trip. Not willing to miss the chance for the sights. Mercy, Trigger, and Harleen were in town as Max, Pamela and Morgan were in the swamps.
Max was visiting someone he gave help to and a warning to a few years ago. He did not listen to him. As was apparent with the violent outburst Max received.
"You knew this would happen!?" A hand made of grass and leaves came towards Max. "You said you were my friend!"
"Humph!" Max snorted out flames. They burned the hand with ease. "I told you I will remain your friend no matter what you have gone through. If you calm down we can discuss some things."
"I am a freak! A monster!" The creature roared indignant.
"Yeah.... I wil turn you into mulch if you dont calm down. I told you to leave the wetlands. But no, you just had to do this last thing. I gave you ample warning to change your fate." Max jumped back from a swinging root. Gliding in the air with the spell float. "You did not have to become "Swamp Thing" to help the the Green!"
"You could have tried harder!" Swamp thing roared.
"What am I, your father?" Max floated in the air and stretched his left hand out. His Alchemsit fire igniting instantly. With a toss, it went out like a wave. "You need a lesson."
*Fwwoosh!* A torrent of fire burned Swamp Thing and caused him to retreat into the swamp.
"If you ever want to be human again, you better calm down." Max floated in place. To the side, Morgan and Pamela just stared. Pamela was upset about the land Max scorched. Morgen mad about the magic that was in someone else's hands. "You have three hours."
"So... you will give me some of that yes?" Morgan asked sulking. "Since you started just giving things away now."
"I did not give it away. The green choose him. Besides, I am pretty sure your environmental intrest is to low to do this." Max looked from her to Pamela. "I will fix what I burned you super tree hugger."
"You better." Pamela grumbled. She walked over and tended to the tress caught in the fighting. "There there, I will fix you right up." Her magic going out helping to heal the damage.
Pamela was diligent in her studies and her work. So Max gave her leeway with her flippant tongue.
"If she was not important to you, I swear she was crazy. " Morgan said from the side.
"You all are important to me. Just need to understand that some things are to hard for me to change. And very dangerous for me to do so." Max grabbed Morgan by the waist. "You are getting power hungry again. It is really hot."
"Oh stop." Morgan bumped him with her hip. "We are in public." She saw the smirk on his face and looked away slightly embarrassed. "You wouldn't dare."
Max ran his hand behind her back and pulled her closer. He gave her kiss on the cheek all the way to her mouth. His hands cupped both of her ass cheeks. Spreading them in her Jean's.
"That feels good." Morgan wrapped her arms around his neck. More intimate contact she had with Max lately, the better she felt about her choices in life. "Ok I feel better now."
"Good." Max kissed her gently and sucked on her tongue. Morgan grip tighten as they started to kiss more. Pamela gave them a small smile before focusing back on her work.
"Ok, I feel really good. Just.. no. Nothing. I think I need to cultivate more. My mind goes to bad places lately when you are not around."
"That is what it means to be human my dear Morgan. You are returning more as you get stronger. It will get difficult at times, but that is why you have us." Max smiled down at her. "Just never forget to ask for help if it gets to difficult. "
"We will see." Morgan buried her head against his chest. She looked out at the swamp and could see the magic in it. But as well as a few waves of black magic. 'That is troubling. No wonder he didnt think it best for me to get involved with the green.'
"The black magic involved.. or more closer the Rot. Is very dangerous. It takes a lot to understand it. Even more to weild it properly." Max said calmly. Hand outstretched as he communicated with it. "I have use for you. A way to allow you to spread to places. Places that are extremely volatile that are destroying the enviornment itself. But you must obey me. No wiggle room."
A black mist appeared above the swamp. Not touching the water as if afraid to.
"Raaaah... so be it.. child of Gaia!" The voice came out hoarse and caused Morgan and Pamela to gain goosebumps. The power inside was ancient and deadly. "We will join.... you..."
Black smoky wisps wrapped around Max. The contract had been signed and reviewed by Gaia herself. Places that were hurting the planet with chemicals would become worse after they get started on some things. As the chemicals themselves will be dealt with.
Over the centuries, several different creatures made it to Earth. Polluting it along with other things.
For the Rot unlike the green, stretch much further through the Cosmos.
The Rot was quite satisfied with its host. Especially since it could not travel to different Dimensions now. Spreading and evolving to what it use to be. A force the same as Gaia herself was.
The three hours passed and Swamp Thing returned. Red eyes almost kind of like a scalded child.
"What do I have to do?" Swamp thing walked out of the swamp up to them.
"Here." Max passed a contract over and waited till Swamp Thing read it over. "Do you agree?"
"This is everything you told me before... Just a few additives because of my condition." Signing, a burning sensation went through his body. "So warm!" A dreamy look in his eyes as he reverted back to normal.
"I will stay here and help the clean up legally still." Pamela said suprising Max. "You may have the Rot contracted but that will not get rid of the people who are still doing things. It will take a good bit of work on the company's part to appease the people."
"I am staying as well." Morgan said. "I wish to study the land more. More secrets left besides just what the Rot influenced. Since you will be busy soon, it helps. And young Pamlea needs someone to wath things over with her."
"I am not a child!" Pamela pouted. Unlike the others, she mastered a technique to allow her growth to match her age from the time with the Amazons. Back home a spiritual clone made from plants would take her place at school.
"It is not about you as a child. You are a young woman with an agenda and quite lovely." Morgan teased. "These southern men will try all sorts of things to get close to you. And quite a few women. I rather not have to see on the news what you do to them."
Max just watch them for a bit before sensing something. Someone wanted to speak with him but it was odd since they did not reside in the current dimension. He excused himself and walked off.
A creature floated in spectral robes. A green visage that looked to be that of a reaper. The Entity known as the Spectre.
"What do you want?"
"You." The Specter floated around. Wanting to make him pay for things he had done but was unable to. For a number of things such as the fact, he was a Champion. And the Spectre was just another entity without a host. "Such Vengeance inside you. Such wrong committed against you and by you."
"Yeah.. comes with the territory." Max said simply. "So you can come with and find out why or just float around till you find another."
"I WILL COME!" The Spectre launched at Max. It was trying to effect him usuing all if its sterngth. However, Max's cultivation may not be around but his magic worked under the same principals. "NNNOOOO!!!"
"Sucks to be you brah." Max walked off back to the others. "Get easy to imprison things. When I get my cultivation back, you are in for it even more so."
Several magical bindings worked against the Spectre. The Rot was also having some fun with him. The power of with weakening it further for the magic to work better. It was turning into a good day for Max.
