Chapter Twenty One_Denumbered

Chief paced slowly in his spacious office, smoking his cigar with deep contemplation, while she looked on with dull eyes, equally smoking her own cigar.

He paused to pull out his cell phone from his pant pockets, and dialled a number.

It rang, and someone picked up.

"Cher, send me Al," he commanded.

He ended the call after getting a response.

The man called Al soon came in, chewing a gum lazily.

Chief waved him to a seat.

"Please draw up her dues, everything we owe her. You know the drill," Chief ordered.

"I want her de-numbered." He continued icily, then took a deep drag from his cigar.

"Why?" She asked, wanting to know.

"You've blown your cover. The whole City, and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies are after you, if you don't know," Chief explained, frowning.

"I cannot risk this Organization for one person," he said again, then bitterly spat, "You are now useless!"

She blinked at the sudden outburst, and turn of events.
