Testing new swords

After the duo left the dungeon, they went straight to the guild to exchange their monster cores.

After that they went back to the traveler's inn.

"So how was it, boys." Hermes said the moment we walked in.

"It was alright." Levi said before going to his room to get some sleep.

'I need to rest up, I have to go back to the dungeon tomorrow again.' He thought before falling fast asleep the moment his body touched the bed.

"So Falgar, how was his first dungeon run." Hermes asked with Asfi by his side, who also had mild curiosity for the boy.

"Well, how do I explain this...

He's a complete monster. Every action he takes is deadly, and he's always on guard."

"Hmm, those are good qualities tho? Why call him a monster?" Asfi asked as she didn't understand his reasoning.

"It means something else happened in the dungeon right?" Hermes questioned.

Falgar hesitated to tell them about the incident, but as the vice-captain of the familia he had to report these things, so he did.

"When we went to the 8th floor-"

But right as he was about to explain the situation, Asfi chipped in with a shocked expression.

"WHAT!! YOU WENT TO THE 8TH FLOOR!?" She exclaimed.

"Relax Asfi, you saw his skill didn't you. It gives an increase in stats. But how much, we don't know. So now the question is how much it increases and if it is a base increase or a percentage increase...

What do you think Falgar?"

"From what I have seen, his parameters should be around D." Falgar responded

"That means he can go up to the 10th floor, interesting."

"IT'S ABSURD, THE CHILD IS NOT EVEN 10!! AND JUST RECEIVED HIS FALNA!! HOW CAN HIS PARAMETERS BE D!?" Asfi commented.

"Well, Asfi. It's probably because of his skill. And it not only seems that his parameters increase, but it also makes him a skilled fighter. Even as an 8 year old, he can outmatch the majority of the second rate adventurers with technique and battle sense alone. From what I have heard.

But now begs the question...

Falgar. Can he become a hero?" Hermes asked, this time with a serious expression.

"No, lord Hermes. He can't be one." Falgar responded immediately.

"Why?" Hermes asked.

"First off, he lacks basic human emotions. And second is from what happened in the dungeon."

"Oh right, How could I forget. You were talking about it hahaha." Hermes said while snapping his fingers.

"Yes, so when we were on the 8th floor we encountered a group of adventurers that were swarmed by killer ants. And Levi waited until the adventurers died before killing the monsters.

And while the adventurers were being killed, I saw no emotion whatsoever. Not even feeling the need to save them. So in my opinion, he can't be the hero you envisioned" Falgar then ended his analogy.

"Yes, that's fair. It was just a gamble anyway. I didn't think he would be a hero with those dead eyes anyway."

"Then why did you ask?" Asfi questioned.

"Well, I don't want to wait 7 more years for him to come." Hermes said.

"...And who is he?" Asfi asked hesitantly.

"Well, now that's a question. And one that I will not be answering." Hermes said with a wink before standing up.

"UGH... And where do you think you're going. LORD. HERMES."

"Well, Asfi dear. If you have to know I am go-" But before hermes could finish, Asfi interrupted.

"Are you going drinking again. Or are you going to the pleasure quarters. Or even trying your luck with Freya once again??" Asfi said coldly with a disapproving gaze.

"Uhm... Well... Toodeloo!!" Hermes said while sprinting to the door and exiting the building.

"UGH, THAT DAMNED HERMEES!!" Asfi screamed in vain.

3 days later

"Well boy, here to pick up your swords I see." Tsubaki exclaimed as the trio consisting of Levi, Falgar and Hermes walked into her shop.

"Yeah, wouldn't come here for anything else." Levi said with a neutral expression he always wore.

"So cold. Anyway, Hermes you got what I asked for." Tsubaki asked.

"Yes Yes. Here it is." Then Hermes gave Tsubaki the products that she asked for.

"Great! Now, take these kid. Here are your swords." She said before giving Levi a pair of swords.

"The blades are made of ultrahard steel, which is one of the best metals on the market. And as you requested, I made it so that you can easily switch to your reverse grip. Happy?" Tsubaki explained.

"Yes, quite." Levi said as he tested out his swords. Swinging it a few times and switching to the reverse grip.

"Amazing, thanks."

"No problem kid." Tsubaki said smiling.

"So Levi, are you going to the dungeon?" Hermes asked.

"Of course." Levi answered with mild excitement in his eyes.

"Alright, Falgar go with him. And come back early, I need to update your status." Hermes said.

After waving Tsubaki goodbye, Hermes left the duo and went his own way to somewhere.

"So, now that you have your swords, we can try your luck at the 10th floor. Maybe even the 11th floor." Falgar explained.

Levi nodded while descending the stairs to the 10th floor.

When they finally arrived, the first thing Levi noticed that there was mist covering the whole floor. Making it hard to see.

He pulled his swords out of their scabbard and then started walking aimlessly through the landscape.

After walking for a while, the duo finally encountered their first monster.

Imps started to appear from the ground. Levi looked around a little and counted about 24 Imps.

After a quick counting session, he didn't waste any time and started slashing the ones closest to him. Not even giving them the chance to fully surface.

After killing 5 of them, the other monsters finally emerged from the ground and surrounded Levi.

"Tch, you think surrounding me will give you an advantage?" After muttering his sentence he rushed a nearby imp, jumped on his head.

Once he landed on it he bended his knee so that his sword could reach its head. Than after positioning himself he slashed and jumped at the same time, launching himself forward, while killing the imp.

'6 killed, 18 left.'

He crouched mid air and when he was about to land on an imp, stretched himself out, crushing his skull while landing. And there were two imps besides him.

The imps were still confused why he was there and not encircled. And Levi didn't waste this chance as he switched his grip and spun around. Killing the two.

'8 killed'

He grabbed his sword to his normal position and started slashing the monsters close to him.

Dealing with three others while two took this chance to attack his defenceless back. But he just spun around and roundhouse kicked them in the head, sending them flying. Killing the first one. But the second one still survived.

'12 killed'

And this went on for a few minutes before they were all dealt with.

"Well, look at you. Not even breaking a sweat. How are the swords?" Falgar asked, not particularly worried as he knew what Levi is capable off.

"The swords are good..." Falgar waited for more details but got none and was met with silence.

"W-well, shall he continue hunting?"

"...Let's go" Levi said before continuing onwards.

After a while, the duo finally left the dungeon.

Levi hunted quite a few monsters like orcs, needle rabbits, more imps and bad bats.

And a few times, Levi got hit because there were just too many of them.

all and all. They finally returned home.

"OHh, you're here! And. How are the swords?" Hermes asked in an excited voice.

Then Levi looked behind Hermes and saw a fuming Asfi.

'They are bickering again I see.'

"They are good, now let's see my status." Levi said while walking to the couch and unbuttoning his shirt. This caused Asfi to blush slightly.

Then he lay on his stomach and Hermes came.

"Let's see how you have grown these past few days."

"Wow... what an increase. I can't believe it." Hermes said with shock visible on his face.

"Are you done?" Levi asked.

"Huh? Y-yeah. All done." Hermes said while looking at the copy with his status.

"Alright, then I'm going." He said before leaving the building.

While Levi was walking through town, he failed to notice that he had a tail.

'Where are you going? Levi.' The figure thought.

He followed him through every street Levi went.

And after following him through countless side streets and multiple corner turns. He finally stopped

'What is he doing? Is he waiting?' Levi was just standing still, leaning against a wall. And after a few minutes. Two people came from the other side of the street.

"YOO, ANIKI!! How have you been!!" A red haired girl said excitedly.

"Oi, Isabel. Aren't you too excited." The dark blonde haired boy said.

"Of course not!! We haven't seen bro in like forever!!" The girl said excitedly

"Isabel, Furlan. It's good to see you again." Levi said, And this time with a warm smile across his face.

'Oh... he can also smile like that.' The person thought
