Chapter 4

As he waited he thought of which god should he join

'Lets see, the only gods I can think of right now, are Hephaestus, Takemikazuchi, Dionisus, Soma, Hestia, Freya, Hermes, Ganesha, Ishtar, Zeus, Hera and Miach'

As he thought of this, he suddenly had a realization.

'In what timeline am I in ? The age of Zeus and Hera, the dark age, did Bell even arrive yet ?'

'Ah, whatever. I'll just ask at the guild what familias are available for me to join'

As he was thinking of these things, finaly It was his turn at the gate

As Jake aproached the gate, he noticed 3 guards that wore some tipe of masks

'Must be from the Ganesha familia' Thought Jake

"Halt ! State you reason for entering Orario!" Exclaimed one of the guards

"I wish to register at the guild and become an adventurer"

"Very well. But before you enter, you will have to place your hand on this orb"

"Why? What is It?" Asked Jake

"It is a device that determines wheather the person touching It has commited any crimes. It was implemented when the organization known as Evilus tried to get more of it's members in Orario from outside" replied the guard

"Fair enough" Said Jake

After Jake placed his hand on the device, It started glowing a bluish color"

"Alright, you may enter"

"Thank you. But, before that, could you please tell me where I can find the guild building?"

"Sure, It's a couple buildings west of the tower, you can't miss it"

"Thank you"

As Jake was going towards the tower, he passed by a building named 'The hostess of fertility'

As he was passing by, he suddenly heard a feminine voice calling out to him

"Excuse me mister, would you like to eat some of the best food in all of Orario?"

As he turned around, he saw a silver haired girld with a green dress

'Oh crap. It's Freya in disguise.' Hopefully She doesn't notice anything special about me. Oh, who am I kidding?! I'm an other worlder! And I doubt the Minecrafter system helps with that.'

'Better be careful, who knows where are her overzealous familia members to guard her'

"Hello miss-"

"Syr. Syr Flover"

"Syr. I would like that very much, but, unfortumately, I have quite literaly no meney on me right now and am looking for the guild building to register"

"Well then good luck on your quest! See you later."

"Thank you. See you later"

"Make sure you don't forget to come back to eat here! It's a promise!"

As Jake was walking away, he suddenly shuddered from a weird feeling and started looking around for the source.

'Ah right. Freya can see souls'

'Hopefully She doesn't notice anything special about me. Oh, who am I kidding?! I'm an other worlder! And I doubt the Minecrafter system helps with that.'

As he continued on his way, Syr, or Freya, held an incredulous expression

The first thing she noticed about his soul was not its color (which was white) (because of big G), but Its shape 'Why is it a cube!?'.

After having the realization, Jake started walking at a faster pace until finally reaching the guild building.

As he entered the guild, he headed straight towards one of the counters.

When he reached the counter, the first thing he saw was the girl behind It.

She wore the guild uniform, had brown hair that went to her shoulders, green eyes and pointy ears.

'That must be Eina. Bell's dungeon advisor'

"Greetings sir. My name is Eina Tulle. What can I do for you ?"

"Hello. I'm Jake. I'm here to register as an adventurer"

Hearing this, Eina held a disapointed look on her face 'Another one with dreams of grandeur that will just meet his end in the dungeon'

"Very well then. Let me just get the necessary paperwork"

As She said this, she went... somewhere, and came back with some documents.

"Please write the required information on this paper"

The info required wasn't anything special. Just name, age, previous experience, familia and place of residency.

After writing down the info and handing the file, Eina asked "Do You have a familia in mind that You wish to join?"

"Actually, I was going to ask If you have a list of available familias I could join" Answeared Jake

Hearing this, Eina handed him the other stack of papers she brought with her.

"I thaught you might" said Eina

"Thank you" said Jake as he went to one of the seats to look through to the list of familias.

As he was searching for a familia to join, a certain name attracted his interes.

'Hestia familia' but he also noticed something else. 'Members: none'

'Looks like Bell hasn't arrived yet. Or at lest didn't join her yet.'

And so, he went back to the counter and said "I chiose the Hestia familia"

"Very well. Please wait a while. We will notify her that someone wishes to join her familia"

After a while, a short girl, with black hair in twin tails, with huge ... *ahem* plot *ahem*, wearing a white dress burst through the guilds door asking about the one that wants to join her.

"That would be me" said Jake

Hearing this, her face started to light up in happiness. 'Cute' Jake thought to himself

"Awesome! Let's head to my place so that you can officialy join my familia."

After a while they reached their destination.

A ruined curch. "I know it's not a lot but, it's home" said Hestia

As they reached the basement of the church, Hestia said "Alright, take off your shirt and lie down over there"

As Jake did just that, he felt a warm and soft feeling on his back as Hestia sat on his back.

"Ok, here we go" said Hestia as She pricked her finger and dropped a drop of her blood on his back

After a bit, Hestia suddenly exclaimed "WHAT THE- !?!?"

"What is it !?" Asked Jake surprised

"Is something wrong with my status ?"

"Well, kinda. You see, what most gods don't tell you, is that we can see our children's past experiences through the falna and excelia. Something is blocking me from seeing anything further back than the forest you came from. And then there are also your skills"

"The forest ? Does that mean you saw-" asked Jake

"Saw what you did ? Yes. I did. Including how you did It. And I have to say, I've never seen anything like It" Interrupted Hestia

"You aren't going to tell anyone about it, are you?"

"Jake, I am the goddess of hearth and home and you are my first precious child. I would never betray my children's trust in me. Not to mention that It would be against wveryrhing I stand for. And as a goddess that means way more than you think"

Hearing this, Jake let out a sigh of relief, as If a weight was lifted off of his shoulders *Phew*

"So, can you interact with my inventory ?" Curiously asked Jake

"I can see It and what the objects in It are, but I can't interact with them at all" Replied Hestia

"Here is your status paper" said Hestia after a bit.

There's nothing really to write home about.

Level 1 with all stats at 0.

The only special things were the skills Minecrafter, which is pretty obvious what It does, and a skill called 'Singularity' that apparently prevents mental status effects.

'Thank goodness, I'm immune to Freya's and Ishtar's charm ability'

"Now then. To choose a mod" said Jake pulling up the mods interface and pressed on the now available plus sign only to receive a message that just says 'ERROR'

He tried It a couple more times only for the same result

"Is something wrong ?" Asked Hestia seeing his frowning expression

"I can't seem to add a mod. Can you see If you can ?

"Alright, I'll try." She said, back in the previous psition

"Looks like I can interact with this one"

'So only the god can add the mods huh ?'

"Alright so, apparently you have a choice of 3-5 random mods to choose from after every level up and also some sort of Reward chest ...?" Said Hestia

"Alright give me the options" 'Hopefully it's something at least decent.'

"Your options are... only 3 of them Thaumcraft, Botania, and Thinker's construct"

"Which one do you want ?"

"Hmm, Thaumcraft is a definite no, I don't want to bring the taint here, so that leaves only Botania and Thinker's construct"

"Taint ?" Asked Hestia confused

"Let's just say it's a virus that can consume worlds and leave It at that"

"So a definite never" said Hestia a little scared

"I'll take Thinker's construct" decided Jake

Hestia implemented just that and a the Reward chest appeared in his inventory

Jake opened the chest with no hesitation and received a ...

A lava generator
