Rebirth 1

"Hi there. I am God," the youthful man greeted. He had short golden hair that reached his neck and silver eyes that outshined any metal in existence. His skin tone was light brown and his clothes consisted of a bland white T-shirt and simple black shorts. While he seemed skinny at first glance, there were slim muscles that made up his entire body.

The boy that was greeted was on the young side. His hair was as dark as the night and his eyes took on a darker shade of blue. He was fair-skinned, but he had three distinct tattoos on his body. On the left forearm was a tattoo of a heavy lightning storm with a black background while his right forearm had a black tribal fire tattoo. His last one was of a pair of angel wings that stemmed from the middle of his upper back and passed by his shoulders to go down his arms. It nearly made contact with his other tattoos. Conveniently, he and God wore the same clothes, but in reverse colors.

He replied, "Hi. Nice to meet you. I am...I am..."-he became quieter as he tried to recall his name-"I don't know. Who am I?"

"Good question. Do you want the answer?" he asked. God was a little surprised at the nonchalance the child was expressing.

"Why not?" He shrugged. "I've got nothing else to do."

"You know...you seem awfully calm for someone who died this early of an age. It's especially weird since you made yourself comfortable quite quickly in my humble home."

"I don't know what to tell you." He yawned. "I have always been like this. I may not remember my identity, but I somewhat remember how I was. It freaked people out sometimes, and I could care less about it. Their issues are not of my concern."

"I see. Then let's start. Your name is Gale Hearth. You were in a car accident that cost you your life at the age of eight. You were the prodigy of the rich Hearth family and yet you lived a life of simple desires. The only things that have fascinated you were food and a few animes."

Gale closed his eyes and began to recollect his memories. Some time passed until he opened his eyes with a little more energy and looked at the young adult in front of him.

"I remember. Now what?" There was no energy in his voice as he spoke and Gale didn't seem to care.

"Pick one."

"Excuse me?" Gale was thrown off.

"Pick the anime world you want to be reincarnated in," he replied in a bored tone. It was almost like he had done this before.

Gale contemplated it before he answered. "I mean. I thought I would go to Heaven and stuff, however, since you are offering...I would like to pick Danmachi."

He nodded. "Okay. What are your wishes?" Gale's eyebrows raised in confusion.

"I don't understand. Wishes? As in Alladin magic lamp type of wishes?"

"Yes. You have five." This puzzled Gale even more.

"That makes no sense. Why five? How did I earn that?" he inquired.

"It doesn't have to make sense. Just pick your powerup and get on with it. You don't have to make it complicated."

"Oh. My bad I guess." He brainstormed a few ideas and eventually, he came to a decision. "I want no wishes. I want to be reborn in Danmachi at around the time Bell meets Hestia in Orario with me being a month younger than Bell."

"...why?"

"It's quite simple. I've always been really smart. School was as easy as eating and I've barely done anything physical. In Danmachi, one of the ways to gain any form of currency is to be in the dungeon, and I want to achieve physical greatness with my own effort. If life becomes too easy by the wishes, then you might as well not allow me to be reborn."

"Interesting," He smiled. "How about this? I will give you a small gift and teach you how to use it until you become your desired age. Then, you can leave and continue on your quest. Deal?" He

bent down and raised his hand to do a handshake and Gale completed it by being on his toes.

"Deal."

(Gale POV)

That was quite an eye-opening experience. Magic is very interesting and I always find myself being drawn towards it. Wow. How long has it been since I have been this excited? Probably a few years? Regardless, the past is gone and I have a new present to look forward to.

"Gale. Just remember to be careful." Ahhh. The mother hen. Not once does he stop saying that.

"I will. Thank you for everything." The level of gratitude I have towards you is something that not be measured. I hope that I can repay you someday. Although, I don't think I can repay God...

"Good. Then off you go." Gale waved and walked through the portal. "Silly boy. Did he not even realize that I can read his mind?" He chuckled to himself. "Having a son is a pretty nice experience. Maybe I should adopt more kids..."

[Outside Orario]

Once again. Wow. I knew that Orario was huge, but this is majestic. Holy hell! The walls were huge! It was like being in Attack on Titans. Then there was the tower. I've seen it so many times in the manga and yet, I find myself in awe by seeing the real thing. I can't forget the mountains and forestry either. They look just as amazing.

Thank God that I am floating down to my destination. Otherwise, I wouldn't have discovered this sight until much later. Oh, wait. God is real so really, thank you, God. Hahaha. I can actually thank him for real. My life is this great huh? I honestly can't wait for the future.

Hmmm...now that I'm thinking about it. I think I should be more grateful. In front of me was the same exact view of the ones in the anime and the manga. Meaning, I have become an actual anime character. Crisis averted. I would've probably cried myself to sleep every night if I had to deal with real-life people again. Not to mention the cosplays. Real people should not dress up as anime characters. They just ruin it. 2D characters must stay 2D. So for this simple favor, I find myself doing a silent prayer in order to convey my feelings.

(Normal POV)

Landing on a tree, Gale jumped down and ran to the entrance. Activating his created skills, he waited for the guards to open the gates to walk in with the unsuspecting merchant. Going to an alley, Gale undid his Invisibility Skill and headed for the Guild. Gale hoped that it was located where it was supposed to be.

Bad? Good? Let me know.
