As he spoke, Selwynn began to unlock the straps and pockets around his body, letting the heavy gear fall to the ground; his slender fingers pulled away his armor and inserted all the weapons into his belts. Finally, he was only left with a thin bulletproof vest and combat boots.
Anson glanced at the clothes on the ground and at the dock, where there were several speed boats, and instantly understood what he was about to do.
Without a word, he pulled off his gloves and began to pull off his gear as well. The cumbersome things would only hinder their movements in this pouring rain.
After dropping everything, Selwynn and Anson tacitly chose the only boat that was tied to the dock and was anchored down.
Selwynn hopped on the boat and went straight for the cockpit while Anson found the lever and began dragging the anchor up. The chains rattled as the heavy metal was slowly pulled from the ground, liberating the boat.
