Chapter 3

After he was sure that they would not catch up for a while, he leaned tiredly against the dry bark of a tree. His bloody hands pulled out a syringe from his pocket and pushed its contents unflinchingly into his veins.

Selwynn leaned his head back and breathed in shakily as the faint numbness quickly eroded the pain.

The snowy night was silent.

All sounds seemed to have been absorbed by a soft sponge, only his heavy breathing resonated in the still forest.

The cold winds cut like a sharp knife and the wounds on his abdomen burned with fierce pain. Sweat continued to pour from his temples, dripping from the tall bridge of his nose. He hastily tore his shirt and took out a set of small tools he carried with him.

Biting his teeth into the flesh of his lips to suppress his groans, he used a steady hand to skillfully cut away the rotten flesh around the gaping hole in his abdomen, to get to the bullet.

Gasping heavily, warm blood spurted from his wounds and dotted the frosted ground red.

With an icy expression, he quickly pulled the bullet out, and roughly sprinkled some special hemostatic agent on the wound before tying a makeshift gauze with a piece of his shirt.

The communication device on his ears had been cut by the broken glass, blood and metal fragments flowed from the wounds behind his ear into his collar, and he wiped the snow with his hands.

The starless night was dark and cold, and the forest was densely covered by a tall canopy of leaves.

Selwynn was soaked all over, his clothes sticking tightly to his body, and the outline of his tightly packed muscles was clearly visible, after spitting out a mouthful of blood he stood up, cleaning up the traces, and pushed forward deeper into the woods.

The snow in the forest was so cold that it made his blood freeze, his stretched limbs trembled slightly, and there was a large amount of blood loss from the several places where he was grazed by twisted bullets.

The special injection temporarily suppressed his pain, but if he couldn't get timely treatment, the subsequent inflammation would be enough to kill him.

This kind of perilous experience has happened countless times.

The only thing left in the eyes of interested people was his position and the power he held in his hands.

He fumbled out a small piece of broken chocolate and ate it, the partially melted chocolate soothed the dry burning in his throat.

The topographical map of most of Norwegia had long been engraved into Selwynn's mind, nevertheless, he could barely identify his current geographic location.

The end of the woods that he was walking through was inaccessible and led to another snowy mountain.

He couldn't go back the same way either, so he could only find a new way out, but he wasn't sure if he could survive his injury and climb out from hell before backup arrived.

The night was dark, and the wind and snow carried with it a faint stench of blood. He took out a short knife strapped to his thigh and held it in his hand.

The sound of snow crunching underfoot echoed softly, every sound was infinitely magnified in the silence. The howl of a wild wolf could be faintly heard in the distance, spreading disturbingly under the vast night sky.

The wind shifted abruptly.

"Boom!!"

The danger came without warning!––

Selwynn dodged, rolling onto the snow almost subconsciously, the bullet brushed by his ear and blasted the wood tree trunk beside him!

"Bang, Bang– Bang!"The snow flew up in a flying row beside his head.

He twisted sharply to the left, barely dodging.

He tried to spot the location of the ambush, at the same time he flashed behind a tree and raised his gun coldly.

There was a short suspended pause and he calmly listened to the environment...

A chill passed over his head.

The muzzle pointed to the depths of the darkness was suddenly lifted, and the bullet shot upward!

But at this moment, the shadow of the tree above his head swayed, the light flashed away, and a dark figure jumped down!

Simultaneously, the surrounding trees shook and a few dark shadows also jumped out!

Several vigorous silhouettes rushed towards Selwynn thunderously!

Shit!

As expected, those bastards were determined to kill him this time.

The gun in his hand was hit flying, and he hastily retreated, the gunshot wounds all over his body cracked open, and a strong smell of blood and rust spread out in an instant.

They approached rapidly, the speed of the attackers was extremely fast and their strength was monstrous,

the wind from their fist whistled by his ears with a terrifying momentum!

His focus reached unprecedented high levels of concentration, he dodged, avoiding the fist coming from his side, and kicked out with a muffled thunk.

He fought with several people in an instant, and new wounds were forcefully punched out on his body.

There was also an enemy lurking in the dark and shooting qt tricky angles. The sharp bullets shuttled through this deadly fight, hampering his movements.

He was strong, but in the face of several people pressing him step by step, he was gradually at a disadvantage.

These were mercenary hired killers;

His stamina was being madly depleted, and there was a thick and sticky, smell of blood in his air.

His breath muffled between his teeth, and he tasted rust on his lips, but his mind was unusually clear. In the fierce and frantic attacks, he constantly adjusted the short knife in his hand–in the next second, he suddenly flew out!

The short knife and an army blade collided, piercing flesh at the same time. He endured the severe pain and turned his elbows, the other hand that had been hanging by his side suddenly lifted like a silent ghost!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The bullets pierced through the dark temples one after another, bringing out a string of blood flowers that splattered onto the snow, like a bottomless opera

A small gun was buckled in Selwynn's blood-stained palm, and the last few bullets were consumed. His eyes flashed with a cold grey in the darkness, and his marksmanship was deadly accurate!

Suddenly! His ears twitched as the winds shifted and his instincts screamed danger,

In the next second, a bullet silently approached from behind him. But in front, there was a flash of cold silver!

Selwyn's perception of danger made him want to dodge subconsciously, but the sound of the bullet piercing the air was different from ordinary bullets.

There was no way to dodge, either the bullet would pierce through his temples, or the knife would slice through his neck

His dark pupils expanded and a crazed madness crashed out of his eyes,

The bullet approached with the speed of light and like a shadow, shuttled towards him––Then! with a sharp whoosh, Selwynn slammed backward and leaned almost parallel to the ground. The icy bullet shot into the killer's neck, sending him flying backward!

The severed carotid artery spurted blood from his throat. The huge jet force made the bright red blood splatter everywhere, and Selwynn was splashed by a burst of warmth.

His breathing shook heavily, and he licked the blood from the corner of his lips with bloodthirsty eyes,

There was a brief stalemate in the silent forest and a primal sense of tension spread out,

Just before the tension cracked, the roar of a heavy motor rushed over, and a dull gunshot sprayed!

The tires kicked up dirt and snow as it swung in a heavy drift, and the car door was pushed open!

Cates, stuck his head out of the window and shouted loudly:

"Boss, get in the car!"

He didn't hesitate, with a heavy stride, he grabbed the ledge and jumped in, Cate's speed didn't decrease in the slightest, he rammed the accelerator, and with a tight drift, he flew out.

He pressed the steering wheel with one hand and raced frantically. On the other hand, he shot bullets at the back, disrupting the killer's attempts at obstructing them; bullets rained on their tires relentlessly but Cate swerved crazily until they managed to drive far out and rushed back onto the main road.

Cate kicked the accelerator and looked back at his boss, "Are you good?!"

"I separated from the rest and came here on my own, that old fucking bastard Noah gave the order to block all exits to the base camps!"

Selwynn wiped the blood from the corner of his lips and patted the front shakily,

"Where's the medicine box?"

"Under the seat." He bent over to pick up the medicine box, cut his shirt, hastily stopped the bleeding, and simply treated the wound.

Finally, he closed his eyes tightly and leaned back against the cold leather seats,

"Go, straight to the airport."

"Back to China."

Cate looked back through the mirror, "Sir are you sure, do we really need to fight for this auction, your injuries..."

Selwynn slowly sneered, if he hadn't relived this life, he really would have let this land go but only he knew, this was the beginning of his end.

There are somethings that had must comfim for himself.
