Chapter 235: Say Something New

We got inside with mom still not outside to the sitting room, I made sure everyone get sitted as we waited on mom, I was particularly interested in whatever it was that they came for, it is not every day that you have the likes of Fake dad, Mr. Bright, aunty Paula, and Cynthia all together visiting you this early.

We were all sitted and waiting when mom came out, fake dad made sure that I sat with him, it was really confusing, I just do not understand why he must be doing this, after a while of pondering the reason for his behavior, I had to follow the advice of dad which was to always make use of my powers of which I decided to go through his thoughts and snuff out his intentions because with this behavior of his, I dont see how someone will behave so nice just a day after he realized that had been deceived and lied to, I just already had a conclusion that he has ulterior motives, but I just do not know what it really was, so I had to result in getting into his mind through the reading of thoughts, with this, I will be certain of what it was that is in his mind.

Damn! When I finally got into his mind which appeared to be so damn easy, I found nothing but regrets, agony, and compassion, there a lot which he wished he could in do, he presently had this feeling of self-hate, he just could not come the conclusion of whether Ir not, she should forgive himself or not, he kind of which that he will get forgiveness from mom first before he could even talk of forgiving himself, he held himself responsible for all mom's misfortune, I really do not know who told him that she got any misfortune, he actually wished he was my real dad, that part of his thoughts actually made me feel for him, he wished he never left mom, he wished he had married her, he would have been my real father, so he thought. The man had no bad thoughts In his mind at all, on the contrary, he even came to apologize and plead for the forgiveness of mom, he wished she could take me back.

Mom came out to the sitting room with this smile on her face, the same smile which dissolved into thin air the moment she saw take dad, and the fact that I sat with him even got her more shocked.

"Wait, wait... What is going on here? After causing me to switch off my phone this morning, you still found your way to my house? What for? What did you come here for? To insult me? To tell me how low I am? To remind me how disgusting you think I am? Well, you know why? There is no way I am going to let you come to my house and lunch insult on me, no... Common, not this morning, not even today, not even forever."

Mom said attacking fake dad immediately even before hearing from him.

"Common Julie, I can't..."

He tried to speak in his defense but mom quickly jumped in and interrupted him.

"Paula, what is going on, why are you with him? And your whole family, hope all is well. Good morning Mr. Bright, please pardon my manner."

"My dear, I think the young man got things to tell you, you have to allow him to speak, and we all came because we know the way you will react."

Aunty Paula said.

"My dear, good morning, how was your sleep? And please, pardon us for disturbing you this early, I know it might not have been too early if it was a normal day, but this is a holiday, so it is too early. So as I was saying, My good friend here came beeping on our gate early this morning, even way earlier than this, more than an hour ago. I really do not know what is going on, yes, I am clueless about the happening, you and my wife, even my daughter made sure it is well hidden for me, for that I know I am the wrong person to advise here, but I know the little that I have seen. You see this young man, I might not know him from before, and I have known his name for a while but have not gotten the opportunity to be this close to him, but just this few days that I have come to really know him, I think he is a nice person."

Mr. Bright said.

"He sure is a nice person, even she knows, he only made one detrimental mistake which blurted out all of his past good doings."

Aunty Paula said in support of what her husband was saying.

This young man came to my house this morning with a shaky finger, as a man he wept in his own way, he came with a shattered heart and a repented soul, he wishes to make amends."

So Mr. Bright said in compliment to his aforesaid words.

"Yes my dear, I am so sorry for all the pains that my misdeeds must have put you through, I and so sorry, I wish I could turn the hands of time, I wish I could undo that evil which I unleashed in you, I wish I never left, but I can't change the past, Yes I know that I can't undo the wrongs I have committed, but I still have today, I still have tomorrow to make right, please my love Julie, please give me the chance to correct my mistakes, please."

He pleaded, he left me sitting on the seat and on his knees he trudged, he looked tired of life, he was like a man who had lost all cause to live, it was as if mom turns him down he will really die, and truly that was what he was thinking in his mind, but I really do not know if he meant it or if it was ordinary autosuggestion.

"Matt, you really hurt me, you did, yes I and my boy attempted to use you, we were scared and we panicked, you were that easiest and safest umbrella for us. We are sorry for that, but the fact is that I really do not see us having anything anymore, I am dedicated to my son and my son alone, I do not need any extra dress."

So mom said. Listening to her say this broke my heart, it really crushed me, I wondered if other mom still loves love, and care for their children as my mom did, she is so selfless when it gets to the matter of me, in her scale of preference, I weigh higher, she is just the best mom ever, if there was an award for the best mom, then my mom would have been winning it back to back. I won't lie, I love it when mom said this, but she just can't keep living her life for me, her life is hers, just as min is mine, she had already made enough sacrifices for me, she doesn't have to do more, well, it's not like I will reject any more sacrifices, but she just been to live her life, she needs to be happy, for how long will my happiness be the source of her happiness.

"No my dear, I will never let you go, I have lost you before, there is no way that I will accede to losing you again. Listen to me my love, just these few days that I spent with you and Ikemefuna have come to mean a lot to me. I felt the things I never felt before when you were with me, my whole life become brand new, filled with joy and a sense of fulfillment, you both helped to lighten my heart, my entire being became lightness over a day, all because you can and shines your light. Seriously, I will never hurt you anymore, yet a thousand years from now, I promise to love and protect you and Ikem, because you are the only one that I love, the only one that I will love you are the only one for me. Please understand me baby pleased because if I can't have you, then I have no reason to live."

So he said so poetically. His little love speech was quite touching,  the man was truly in love, his words so not contradict his mind by any means. He was clearly sincere about his feelings. And I really for his life, he seems to be serious about having nothing to live for if he does not have mom.

"My love, what can I do or say for you to know that I mean everything that I am saying, or should I say that everything I own is you and for me and our boy Damian? Yeah he might not be my biological son, are that man yesterday, it became apparent that he is not my biological son, but if you permit me, I am willing to change his last name and yours to mine, please my dear, give me this chance, I have come to lobe Ikemefuna so much that I just can't have him go just as I can't let you go."

So he said.

"Can you imagine, so that us how you now see me, a gold digger, you think I care about your money, I have never needed any man's money. So, I see no reason why I will want your house, I can't even leave there, it's too massive, it will be boring. So tell me, why do you think that I need your money or wealth? If I love you, I love you. If I want to stay  I will stay with you. Well, let me say the truth... I can't stay with you even if I wanted to. If he said that I should be with you then I will."

Mom responded to him

"Mom, please can I see you privately? I have to talk to you urgently."

So I said, with this, mom knew that it was a very important matter that deserves an urgent audience, I walked to mom and took her out of the sitting room, together we went into her room leaving aunty Paula with her family and fake dad. As we walk into the room, I quickly twisted the doorknob to lock the door, now I rest my back at the door with mom looking at me so curiously, she actually thought about what we will be discussing? I really love the way she honored my request for a chat.

"Yes, stop looking at me, and tell me what is it. Or were you feeling anything? Tell me, honey."

Mom said demanding that I tell her what the matter was, she actually thought that I was sensing any bad presence or dad's presence around, but I actually do not feel anything, she never knew that I called here just to talk to her about fake dad whom I come to like.

"Mom, no, I didn't call you here to tell you about anything pertaining to the water people."

So I said.

"Hmmm... So why did you call me here? Tell me, honey."

Mom said, 

No mom, I called you here to talk about your mom. Mom, I know that you love me immensely, I love you too, but I am not happy with you mom."

So I said looking quite unhappy. 

"Really? Why? Why are you mad at me? Tell me."

She asked.

"For God's sake mom, you have your own life, you can't be acting like God only brought you to earth just to cater for me. You have to do things that you need for once. Start by accepting a man, and I will like you to accept fake dad."

So I said to mom.
