Chapter 119: As-salamu Alaykum

                  ***AS-SALAMU ALAYKUM***

Mom, I'm sure you know that I really do not understand anything that you are saying. You know that i can't possibly bond with anyone as i do with you, you know you are my everything, you are not just a mother to me, you are my best friend, you know you had been my only friend before i met Cynthia, and you know that you will forever be my bestie."

So I did say to her and that made her very happy. I could see how her dark skin blushed. Funny, she was almost acting like Cynthia acted the day I expressed my feelings to her.

"Yeah... Enough with your sweet words mr Damian, now join me in the kitchen let's make us breakfast, I never had the appetite for breakfast this morning, but now you just made my day with your nice words, let us go get something to eat and go get your aunty Paula before she will start complaining about our lateness."

So she said looking so excited. After saying this, she stood up and headed to the kitchen while I followed her.

After eating we drove to aunty Paula's place where we met her just outside her compound, I thought that we were going to go wait for her in her house so I could at least have a little glance at Cynthia who I have missed a great deal, but no, she had to come outside to wait. Really I blamed mom for that, I was sincerely unhappy that morning, mom had called her before we left home, that was why she had to come outside to wait for us, mom would not have called her if I had known I would have stopped her, but how would I have known? I won't have. Now, one thing is very obvious to me, that that is the fact that aunty Paula is no longer like me like she did before, and I am also sure that she had asked Cynthia to stay away from me, maybe that was why she had not stopped by our side all these while, I am sure that she also told her about my scales.

So, that morning, after we had met her, she joined us in the car and we all zoomed off. Abuja was not all that big, so, it didn't take us much time to get to Dutse Alhaji. It was when we had gotten there that I noticed that there are so many Dutses, there is Dutsen Alhaji, Dutsen Makaranta, Dutsen Sokale, and even dutsen Boupma.

So as I was saying, it wasn't long before we got to Dutsen Alhaji, it was just after Gwarinpa, the place we went to the other day to meet that lying man of God. aunty Paula understood her Abuja routes, she just directed mom straight to Detsen Alhaji stressfree, but the problem now came when we got to Dutse, we couldn't locate the native doctor's place, we kept asking but no one seem to know the place, the people of that area kept looking at us like they have seen ritualists whenever we ask of the native doctor's place. All this while, aunty Aunty Paula had been trying to reach that her friend who patronizes the native doctor but she seemed not to be close to her phone as the phone kept ringing with no response. It was later after she had responded that we found out that all along, we had been searching for the wrong personality. The lady said that the man was not known as a native doctor. According to her, she said that we should ask the man of Alfa Sanusi at the power line. So after we got this information, it never took us time to find the place. When we got there, we noticed that his house was not all that bad, and he lived among people, and the man didn't look like a native doctor too, he was a tall dark skin man, very lanky. When we got there, we met a young man outside, who asked us who we wanted to see and we told him, the young man asked us to wait outside, we waited for quite a while before the young man came out and asked us to come inside which we did without much hesitation. See, before we entered the house, I have been wondering how his place will look like, dirty and unkempt. Well, when we got inside, the place was not all that bad, it was just like every normal people's sitting room, I could only see pictures and calendars of people and some write-ups in Arabic, the man held this Muslim tasbih that they often prayed with. That was when we found out that he was a Muslim man, he greeted us in the normal Muslim way of greeting,

"As-salamu Alaykum?"

We didn't even know what to respond as we stood looking at him, he asked mom and aunty Paula to sit but contended that I must not sit on his chair, though mom was not happy with the development bet she just kept her cool.
