The Abandoned Baby

The night was extremely peaceful as Lily lay in her small tent on terrace , reading a book. At the moment, she was arguing with herself whether she should read another chapter or cook the dinner, when the door-bell started ringing continuously. She sighed as she closed her book, before getting energetic again and rushing for the door.

She opened the door, to a beautiful smiling baby and nobody else around. A note was present on her, which wrote,

"She's special, please protect her well."

"What a beautiful child!!!", she exclaimed. She called Daniel, her husband, who agreed instantly, after all, they had been wanting to have a kid since a long period of time.

She left the baby at neighbour's place, to shop for the baby's necessities. And when she returned, she saw Richard, the neighbour's son, outside the door.

"She's a ghost. She hit me when I snatched the toy mom gave her, but mom won't believe me. You believe me, right??", the six year old child came running to her.

Lily smiled,"Ofcourse, she's just a baby, may have done that by mistake."

"No! She's on the bed, I was near the door."

"Okay, I will scold her."

The next day, they went to complete the adoption process.

"Her new name??" the official asked.

"Daisy. The daughter of Daniel and Lily.", Lily said, proudly.
