Chapter 7

Dahlia walked into her room and fell on her bed. What she saw concerning Richard was still a big blow to her. She never imagined Richard to be a vampire. No wonder why he knew what she was. She knew most people would run away in shock or shout something like 'Monster!' but he just accepted the fact that she was a vampire.

"Was that what Harrison was talking about?" she thought

"Does he know his brother is a vampire? Is he too?"

So many thoughts were running through her mind. Suddenly, she heard her front door open and quickly got up from her bed and stretched out her dress to remove the folding. She walked slowly into the living room where she found someone with his back turned towards her.

"Who are you?" She questioned

"Funny how you aren't familiar with my scent by now" Richard said turning around

"What are you doing here?" Dahlia asked angrily keeping her fists in a ball.

"Dahlia I'm really sorry I didn't tell you"

"I just couldn't bring myself to do it" Richard said

"What do I care?" Dahlia asked

"Get out of my house and never show your face to me" she said turning away

"I have something to tell you before I leave" Richard protested

"Keep whatever rubbish you have in your mouth to yourself!" She said

"I'm gonna say it any way"

"I was the one who bit you" he said with his head down. Dahlia turned to him now. She thought she didn't hear correctly

"You did what?" Dahlia asked

"I was the one that bit you" Richard repeated

Dahlia's legs couldn't carry her anymore and she felt herself falling. Luckily for her Richard grabbed her in time and placed her on the sofa.

"Dahlia I'm really sorry. I didn't want to tell you this but I also didn't want you hearing it from someone else" he said

"It would have been better if someone else told me then I wouldn't believe it" she said

"I can explain" he said

"I was compelled. I swear it Dahlia, I didn't know what I was doing and I completely forgot until I found out you were a vampire then everything came back to me" he said. She pushed him away

"You expect me to believe that cheap lie?" Dahlia flared up

"I was normal before that thing happened. I could eat and drink what I wanted. I didn't have to be scared of killing someone. I didn't have to kill anyone before you did that!"

"I will never ever forgive you" she stressed as she got up and made for her room.

Richard was left standing in the living room alone, after staying there enough he said his sorries again and walked out

Few minutes after Richard left Dahlia's place Lucita came storming in.

"Bitch! Where the hell are you? Come out now!" she screamed angrily

Dahlia knew at once it was Lucita since 'bitch' had become her slang lately. She got up and walked out of the room, standing by the door way watching Lucita display foolishly.

"What do you want again?" Dahlia asked

"I thought I sent you off" she said

"Sent me off?"

"You really are crazy" Lucita said

"I warned you not to use those words on me" Dahlia said

"Oh, spare me that trash, Lucita said waving her hand. Leave Richard alone for me" she said

"Leave Richard?"

"What are you? His wife?" Dahlia asked

"Last I checked, he despises you" she added.

It was then she noticed the scratch she left on Lucita's face was gone. Gone like nothing was there. She stared at it inquisitively. Lucita saw her reactions and laughed

"Yes, I'm a vampire now" she said

"What?" Dahlia asked surprised she even knew about vampires

"Yes, and for your information, Richard loves me and that was why he bit you at the club" she said

Now Dahlia was angry

"I was bitten at the party because of you Lucita, Dahlia said annoyed. Everything that's happening to me right now is 'cause of you"

"You ruined my life and now you have the guts to come throw shit at my face" she added

"Like you don't like the fact that you don't have to use transportation anymore, look this good without putting makeup on and get to live forever" Lucita said

"I didn't ask for it. Did I tell you I ever wanted to live forever?"

"I hated my life when I was normal and now I have immortality!" Dahlia shouted

"I don't care. You got the bite and I got mine but you have to leave Richard alone. He doesn't like you and he's only talking to you because he feels responsible since he bit you. Don't get funny ideas" Lucita said

"Funny ideas?" Dahlia asked. She turned around and laughed. Lucita had always been densed so telling her it was her fault she became a vampire wasn't going to get to her. If she wanted to get her angry it was only fair she did the same to her.

"I'm not getting any funny ideas Lucita" she said

"You say you are so intimate with Richard but you can't catch his scent, can you? Because you see, he was just here" Dahlia said

"And besides, Richard was not in his right mind when he bit me and you, Dahlia said pointing at Lucita. You are the cause of it all"

"You called me out in the middle of the night to come save your sorry ass and this is what I landed with and you're here messing up. If I were you I'd run right now before I'll do something we'll both regret" she concluded

"I hate you so much" Lucita said. Dahlia's tactic worked

"You're always counting everything you've done for me" she added

"Get out!" Dahlia said with an air of authority.

"I'll get you for this" Lucita threatened and rushed out of the house.

"Bitch!" Dahlia screamed and punched her television. Blood gushed out of her hands as she sat on the floor fuming with rage.
