If it were an original work, it would have been heavily criticized.

Ren's new draw, "Fate/Zero," is one of the best in the Fate series. Its story is tightly paced and straightforward, even newcomers to the Type-Moon universe can easily understand it.

Moreover, terms like mages, the Clock Tower, the Holy Church, Executors, the Burial Agency, heroic spirits, magic, reality marbles, and Noble Phantasms introduced in "Fate/Zero" help lay the foundation for the entire Type-Moon universe.
