 After sorting out all the memories deep within his mind, he managed to figure out what kind of world he had transmigrated into, as well as the life he lived before.

 The history this world, Artras, was quite similar to earth, and at the same time very different.

 About hundred years ago, portals started opening up all around the world, and from them poured out the terrifying beings known as the demons.

 Most of them had terrifying and inhuman features starting from the long, coiled horns on their head to the large, bat-like wings jutting out from their backs.

 Their appearance alone terrified those who saw them, and the humans quickly took to their feet, trying to escape the monsters who invaded their planet.

 But unfortunately, the demons were evil and ruthless, slaying all those who came across them without a shred of mercy.

 For the next two decades, humans were turned into the playthings of demons, their continents overtaken, their women and children abused and taken away from them.

 Fighting back was in vain, as their swords and arrows were far too weak to penetrate the tough skin of the demons.

 However, everything changed when the goddess of light took pity on humans and showered her blessing upon the world.

 Following her example, other elemental gods gave humans their blessings also, whether in form of artefacts, or through dreams and visions.

 Due to the blessings from the gods, the humans were able to fight back against the demons, recovering a portion of their land.

 In the present time, a huge majority of humans were either born with blessings inherited from their parents, or bestowed with one by being baptised in the holy church.

 The blessings were ranked from common to legendary, with common being the weakest and legendary being the most powerful.

 Those who weren't lucky enough to be blessed by the gods were looked down on by the society, and were barely regarded with respect.

 Liam was one of the latter, born without a blessing and with an extremely weak physique.

 His life up until now had been nothing short of horrible, as he was already getting pushed around by the other students at the academy.

 'From being the weakest to being a demon… what a wonderful twist.' Liam thought, scoffing to himself.
