C34- Brief Calmness (2)

After a while, her cries got quieter and she went silent. Corvin lifted her head to look at her face. She was sleeping.

"She fell asleep... Then, here you go."

Corvin placed the girl in the bed and covered her with a blanket. After that he smiled briefly and patted her head once. He quickly left the room to not wake her up.

Clank!

After he got out of the room, Amy's face got as red as the moon Sermee in the sky, and she covered her face with the blanket.

'I know that the pills might have effected my emotions weirdly, but I don't know how am I supposed to feel when you do that!'

She shouted in her head, as she placed her hands on her hair, to the place where Corvin patted her.

'Ughhhh... Even though you are younger than me...'

After a while, she actually fell asleep. With a slight smile on her face, for the first time in a while.

Corvin entered to his and Noah's room. He found Noah laying down on his bed looking at the door. When Corvin entered, his slight smile broke down.

"You idiot! Why are you here?"

"Huh?"

"Don't 'Huh?' me! Why are you here?"

"Huh?"

"You- Siiighh~, calm down Noah, calm down. Corvin, do you not understand what I am saying?"

"No, I do. But why are you angry?"

"Why aren't you with her?!"

"What do you mean!?"

"After all that assisting I did, you didnt- Wait, did she reject you?"

"Huh? Reject?.... No, I guess not?"

"Ugh! You don't even get what I am saying! Tell me, at least you shared your first kiss."

Noah looked at Corvin expectantly.

"What!? No way? Are you telling me I should have taken advantage of her weak state? I didn't know you were that kind of person Noah, I need to reevaluate you in my mind."

Corvin gave a disgusted glare to Noah.

"Huh? No, I didn't mean that! I meant, is she your girlfriend now? That's what I asked!"

"Sigh, That isn't that much better but, no she isn't. Do you think comforting a crying girl is enough to make her fall for you? Are you that inexperienced at interacting with people?"

"N-no, but you hugged her, right? Then didn't you two look at eachother while hugging? Then, she closes her eyes and puckers her lips slightly, then you go for the kiss?"

Corvin donned a shit eating grin and retorted.

"Heeeh, is that how it went between you and Clair? Kekeke, already madly fallen for eachother, huh?"

Noah froze. His face became as red as a newborn baby and Corvin could almost see steam coming out. Corvin laughed and lied down on his bed and said.

"Normal people don't fall in love that easily, you know? You were just lucky to find your soulmate earlier in your life. And I may have forced the way for you two to become a thing, so sorry about that as well."

"N-no, I don't mind...", answered Noah in a low voice.

"And, even if she had feelings for me, I don't have those. Maybe in the future I will, but currently not. One day, if I discover where my emotions are at, I won't hesitate to act. So, for now, I just need to wait for that day."

Noah stared at Corvin for while and said.

"Corvin... Are you actually my age? No, you definitely are, evident from you dumb jokes."

"Hey."

"Haha, I am also the same. But, just now... Wait, did you have a girlfriend back in the village before meeting me? Was that just now not your first kiss? A-are you already a man?"

"Hey! Don't get ahead of yourself! I am... inexperienced through and through. Also, we didn't kiss, where did that come from!?"

"Oh... I have more experience than you?! Then, how are you able to say those cool words?! Are you sure you are a virgin?"

"I... definitely am. Also Noah, do you realize what you just admitted? Aren't you two too fast?!"

"Ah- No no no no no! I-I didn't mean it like that! We aren't there, yet."

"Heeh? So, you have plans to reach that place?"

"What will you do? Sneak into her room? Walk in-"

"AHAHHAHAA! I am going to sleep!", said Noah and pulled the covers over his face.

Corvin sighed with a smile, blew the candle out and went to sleep as well. Of course, before sleeping, he didn't forget to declare today's match as his victory. Noah clicked his tongue from under the covers.

The next day, the three started to pack their things to leave. Earlier that day, Felyp left with his men before the sun dawned. He was gone missing in the north for too long and he was also going to enroll Amy to the institute. So, after leaving the kids some money, he left saying "I do trust you two. And Corvin, you are free to buy your girlfriend whatever she wants with the money I gave you. Think of it as my reward for you, hahahaha!".

"Sigh~, Why did he have to add that useless words at the end?"

"Hehehehee, Mr. Corvin. Aren't you two going on a date today? Were there wrong words in his sentence?"

"Yes, there were. Amy isn't my girlfriend."

"Hm? Amy? When did we ever mention her name, we only said girlfriend? Could it be... Is she the first person that comes to your mind when you think of a lover? Hmm? HMM?"

"Shut up, you know what I meant. And, we are just going to shop for things we will need while going back. And maybe some stuff for research."

"That's excatly what a date is!"

"If you weren't lazy, you would be coming with us as well."

"No way. I don't want to be the third wheel. I can already see, you two holding hands and giggling at together, while poor me in the background is carrying your bags. Completely sad and depressed. And then someone bumps into me and I fall to the ground, buried under your bags of newlywed items you bought for your home. You two don't realize it in your own world, and leave me alone in the streets to freeze to death. Uhu-uhu~ you two are terrible!"

Noah gave a fake sob and wiped his fake tears.

"We aren't like that! And, your imagination is too strong!"

"Hahaha! I am an artist after all!", said Noah and tried to give a cool pose with kissing his two fingers and pointing them at Corvin while winking an eye.

Corvin closed his eyes in disgust without saying anything and then left the room.

Out on the street, he met up with Amy, whose face got a bit red when she saw Corvin.

"So, where are we going?"

"First we need to buy some food. I also need to buy materials for myself. And then..."

The two went around the city. At first, they went to buy food. After buying food and drinks for the road, they went to various shops to buy herbs, minerals and other materials that Amy could use. After shopping for a while, Amy stopped and asked Corvin.

"Um... I need to, you know...", she said and held her stomach.

"Hm? You need to go to the toilet?"

"Yes."

"It's okay, I also need to. We can meet here again and continue shopping, okay?"

"Yes."

They seperated after lying to each other and went towards different shops. Amy went to a leathersmith. She wanted to buy something for Corvin as thanks.

"Hello, young miss? Are you here to buy something for your boyfriend?", asked a middle aged man.

"Ah... Um, something like that...", she said with a slight blush.

"Haha! Not there yet, huh? So, what do you want?"

'How are you able to tell- No, we aren't like that!', she thought. Her face got redder and she answered the man while stuttering slightly.

"H-He recently broke his sword while fighting a monster, and I wanted to buy something for his new sword."

"Oh! So, you want him to remember you even when fighting, eh?"

Amy's face got even redder.

"That's okay, miss. Here are some decorations for swords.", the man said as he opened a box he placed on the counter.

Inside the box, there were several different decorations like grip wrappings for swords. She looked at the products and choose a black leather strip with red stitches at the sides. The leather wrapping had roses drawn with golden threads on it.

"I want this one."

"Oh, good choice, miss. He definitely will like it."

"Thank you."

"Thank you too, miss."

And she left the shop to meet with Corvin again.

While Amy was buying him a gift, Corvin was also buying her one. He went to a jewelry store to buy something for her.

"Hi, young man. Are you here to buy a wedding ring for your girlfriend?", asked an older lady.

"U-uh no. I am just here to buy a gift for a female friend."

"I see~. Do you want to look at these then?", she asked and showed him a bunch of golden accesories.

"N-no, can I buy something that isn't made of gold? I don't have that much money."

"I see, then do you want something silver?"

"Even silver, I don't kn-"

"If you are going to buy something less than silver, you can just leave that girl and never see her forever. Seriously, that blonde beauty deserves more than something like you.", she said with a scary smile.

"Huh? How did you-"

"I saw you two walking down the street. You two looked like a newlywed couple, and yet she isn't even your girlfriend yet, huh? Poor girl, having to deal with this useless guy..."

"I get it! I get it, I will buy a silver..... necklace!"

"Are you sure you don't want to buy an engagement ring?"

"No! We aren't like that!"

"Sigh~ Okay, here are our necklaces, mister.", with a considerably colder tone and a glare, she showed him a bunch of silver necklaces.

Corvin looked at the necklaces to choose one. While he was looking, the elder lady tried to sell him something golden or a pretty ring with a big diamond on it, but Corvin refused them all. After a while, he finally chose one.

It was a silver necklace with a small rose flower made of gold on it.

The lady gave a proud nod and said "I am glad there is a bit of gold in that. She will definitely like it! Good job young man!" with a warm, motherly smile.

Corvin sighed and left the shop to meet with Amy again.
