Chapter 13: Back on Track

[Prelude to Chaos Arc]

(End)

🌸

Saya sighed as she faced the mirror. Reddish brown eyes stared right back at her. She slowly released her power making her eyes glow red and causing a red rose emblem to appear on her cheek.

Saya looked almost devilishly beautiful, almost.

The door opened making her face the direction of it.

"Are you alright, Saya?" Haji asked as he strolled inside her room carrying a bunch of snacks and tea.

Saya sealed her powers once more and sighed. "Yes. I was just trying my powers."

"Hmm. Here." Haji went to the direction of a small table and placed a tray of sweets along with her favorite sweet tea. He pulled a chair out and indicated for her to start eating.

Saya stood up and sat in front of the few snacks and began munching on some.

"What's wrong?" Haji asked, his straight and thick brows furrowing in worry. Ever since he entered the room, he couldn't help but notice Saya's somwhat depressed mood.

"Hmm?" Saya looked at him to see his brows scrunched up slightly in worry. She really couldn't escape his eyes, could she?

"You seem not like yourself." He said as he touched her forehead with the back of his hand. "You don't seem to have a fever."

Saya shook her head and drank tea, feeling slightly funny. "I'm fine. I'm just thinking some things." she replied with a smile.

Haji just stayed silent after Saya said that. Maybe it really was unusual for her to be like this.

"Ne, Haji, have you ever wondered who Rose Reaper's true identity is?" Saya asked him whilst looking down and staring at various sweets.

It just dawned on her recently that Rose Reaper was eerily familiar, like she has seen her somewhere else before. It was somewhat weird now that she's realized it.

"Hmm... I have at some point but never really considered it." Haji replied all the while pouring tea into the empty cup.

Saya drank the tea and the taste of soothing herbs and the sweet aftertaste made her sigh in relief. The taste was refreshing and soothing at the same time.

Haji smiled. "I'm glad you liked the tea."

Saya's eyes widened for a moment but reverted back in its normal state immediately after seeing that rare smile from him.

"You brewed this?" she asked excitedly.

He just nodded his head.

Seriously, Haji was the best knight out there. He was literally a bodyguard, a listening buddy, an adviser and a butler rolled into one.

Saya laughed happily after knowing that. She drank once more from the cup, falling in love with its soothing and refreshing taste. "What's it called?"

"It's called Shedelaide tea." Haji replied. Saya didn't ask more about it. She was sure it was a high grade tea. She may not know much about teas and she didn't really drink them that often but she was sure she'll be frequently drinking this one.

The Rose Kingdom's princesses and their knights stood in the middle of various portals in the portal chambers.

Sumire glanced around her to see all of them fully dressed in their battle armors and their multiple auras in full display. Her eyes subconsciously landed on Shimo, her knight. He was also in his battle armor and looked extremely valiant. He really seemed different whenever he wore his armor. It gave the impression of aloofness and estrangement.

"Is there something wrong, princess?" Sumire was broken out of her thoughts when Shimo waved his hand in front of her face.

She shook her head at him. "There's nothing wrong. I just think your armor suits you." she told him honestly which made him walk away hurriedly but not before she noticed a slight redness on his earlobes.

That was surprisingly adorable.

Sumire glanced around her and seemed to notice the Rainbow Princes were missing this time.

"Is it just me or are the Rainbow guys missing?" Kiede asked the exact question on her mind.

"Hmmm... now that I think about it, you're right." Urika said.

Sumire was slightly surprised when Seya, Saya's sister stepped forward. "Uhm, actually, I heard something's happened in the Rainbow Kingdom so they're probably busy." She informed.

"What happened?" she asked, curious.

Seya shook her head. "I don't exactly know the details but it seems like an emergency."

As much as they would like to ask further, the door opened with a bang.

"Is everybody here?" Saya's mom asked all of them. They all nodded in reply all readying each of their weapons. Sumire clutched her whip readily.

"Well then, I'll now open the realm of chaos." the Red Rose Queen said as she emitted a red light around her body while the red rose emblem slowly appeared on her right cheek.

Once the portal was opened, they instantly knew that this was truly the beginning of something they will never forget...

The realm of chaos, Hellion, we are coming...

*sigh* I know I haven't updated frequently as I promised and I admit it. So, I'll probably update soon as I'm adamant on finishing this soon and start on the next book and probably finish the entire series. Crossing Worlds Series currently has five books lined up and if my overactive imagination runs wild once more, there'll be more coming. So I'm gonna get serious and finish this.
