CHAPTER 23: Boredom.

Jan and Mirana were both imprisoned in one of the cave-like buildings along with a few more people. Day and night a group of demons stood guard around them. These seemed to be one of the stronger ones, their job was to stop the other demons from killing the captives. Although it was clear that they wanted to do it themselves just as much and only put it off because of a deal.

Apparently there were quite a few demons who had contracted with other demons so that they wouldn't be sent back to hell so easily.

Even though it was tempting for Sirin to do the same, he didn't trust the other demons enough to make a deal with them. Even if it meant protecting the human to stay in this world.

To make this whole situation more irritating, the 'leader' of the camp had decided it was a good idea to wait a few more days before attacking the people bunker. Which meant that Sirin had to spend a few extra days with these monsters, all of which were at least ten times as strong as him.

Yes Sirin himself was already exceptionally strong for his age, but these demons may have been hundreds of years old and it would be a long time before he was at their level. The only reason his horns hadn't been used as a toothpick by a greater demon was because Dunkelblau was always close by.

The reason for this was not because Dunkelblau liked him, or admired his strength at this age, but because he had probably cuaght a glimpse of the system.

After their interaction with Belias, Dunkelblau had advised him not to stretch his consciousness. Apparently it had an unnatural blue tint. Sirin knew this was probably because of the system, but he didn't want to tell the demon.

If the demon knew what it was, he would force Sirin to tell him how to get it too. Only, since it appeared to be a personal gift from the maker, given through the red god, he was pretty sure he couldn't easily help Dunkelblau get one too. And Dunkelblau probably wouldn't accept this.

Because of this, Sirin had simply decided not to use the system while he was in the camp while he pretendet he had no idea about Dunkelblau's exxtreme protection.

Out of boredom Sirin had started walking through the encampment followed by Spot. Many other demons had the same problem of brodom which often caused conflict.

Finally, he stopped in front of the cave-like cage where the prisoner was kept. Besides Jan and Mirana there were some other people. Most looked thin and wounded, some blankly stared into space, while others flinched when they saw Sirin.

Sirin leaned against the cage and wrapped his tail around one of the bars.

"Can you make it less clear that you think this is funny?" John snapped. Now that he was convinced he was going to be killed by one of the demons, he didn't care how angry he would make one.

Sirin turned his head to the man. "There's nothing funny about this. The leader has decided to wait until the bunker has more manpower so that we can rob more souls when we invade. Actually, I'm stuck here just like you, only my cage has a better view."

Mirana just sat quietly in a corner hidden behind Jan. After the demons took some of her blood and cast a spell over it, they found her father. He turned out to be Belias.

After that moment, he was constantly ridiculed by other demons, which brought some relief to this sea of annoiance and boredom. Because of this, Mirana was constantly afraid that he would kill her. Even after Sirin told her that her killing her would only prove his insecurety of his weak bloodline and that it was verry unlikely that he would do it, she was still not at ease.

Sirin rolled his eyes. "Look, I don't like this either."

"Ah, shut up, demon!" Jan spoke before Sirin could finish his sentence. "You are just as bad as any other demon here. So stop pretending you think this sucks too. The only reason you let me live is because it is necessary for you to stay here, and the only reason you let Mirana live is because she is useful to you. Hell you would have tried to attack the bunker yourself. Do you realize that families live there? Families with children? Do you have any idea what you will destroy when you attack that place?"

Sirin shrugged. "No not really. I don't have that much experience staying with beings that brought me to life. But for your peace of mind, my earlier plan was just a joke if you want to see it that way. I was more planning to stay near the bunker for a while and lure some people to me."

"That's not the point!"

"Maybe not." Sirin grinned. "By the way, I brought Spot with me. I thought you'd like to have some interaction with a fluffier mammal."

Still a little scared, Spot squeezed through the bars before sniffing curiously at some of the people. Finally, he sat down next to Mirana to cheer her up a bit.

Some of the people began to whisper to each other about how Mirana was likely a demon herself and whether Sirin would be the first to try to eat them or not.

"Thank you." Mirana said as she gently stroked the animal.

"No problem. I'm now going to see how much grass I can put into a sleeping demon's mouth before it wakes up. So I'll probably be back in half an hour to get Spot back. If I'm missing an arm when I return, don't worry it will probably grow back."

Hello everyone. I'm going away for a week so I don't know if I can upload chapters during that time. Thank you very much for your understanding and for the power stones that I Received. (:
