Chapter 31: Momma's Apology
Abigail’s POV
I was bouncing between two different text conversations the next day at work.
Work was incredibly slow. I may as well have been at the library by myself, so juggling between texts was easy.
“Help me find a man to bring on a double date!” James teased me after I told him about my last date with Elle.
“Do you want to hang out again after work?” Elle asked me.
I was going to text her “of course!” but a notification stopped my typing progress.
“Abigail, please come home as soon as possible tonight! We have to talk.”
I rolled my eyes.
“I’m sorry, Elle. Momma “wants to talk” after work. Wish me luck.” I said.
She texted me a photo of Peaches sitting on her lap. “Tell us if you need us to rescue you.” She replied.
