Chapter 2

All of the students were staring at me. I just stood there and glared back at all of them.

Then they just went back to minding their own business.

That was awkward.

To be honest, the dorm looks pretty cool. There was a large lobby in front of me, as I'm still standing near the entrance.

If you looked up, you could see railing of the floor above you. Students were hanging out near the railing, and it continued the same way, a few floors higher as well.

The interesting part is that the students here looked so diverse. It was actually pretty exciting to think about my future in this college.

I looked into my phone and opened the college's app. It's an app that only students have access to and your room number and other details will be mentioned in it. Including announcements. Impressive.

I walked to the third floor since it said my room number was 313. I noticed that the brown wooden stairs were polished and very well- maintained. Something that really made me feel comfortable.

When I reached the third floor, the hallways also had a brown theme, with a neat red carpet on the floor. It looked like damn hotel.

Neat.

I reached my room, room number 313. I used the key which was handed to me by a supervisor in the lobby and opened the door.

I saw a girl and a boy around my age sitting at a table in the middle of the room and sipping some tea or something. I don't know what they were sipping exactly.

"Hi," The girl said, smiling cheerfully.

I don't want to describe her appearance out of respect, so in summary she was blonde and looked western or European. I'm not sure. I'm not an expert on that.

The other guy said hi as well, but she was louder than him, so I didn't hear him properly.

He looked like a normal dude. His brown hair was parted in the middle and he was around 5'10 in height. He was wearing a black t-shirt under a white unbuttoned shirt, with black jeans. He also sported white sneakers.

"Hi," I said, without a hint of emotion. I mean, come on. Who the hell are these two?!

Don't tell me....that they're my roommates.

My mom was nagging at me back at home to read more about the college and its dorms and I was too busy doing whatever the hell I was doing. If I read more about this place I would have known that I would have roommates.

She looked at the other guy sitting at the same table as her, and smiled awkwardly at him, as if trying to diffuse this awkward situation.

I just walked over to my side of the room, and placed my suitcase next to my bed. I laid down on my bed and tried to relax. But I could see those two roommates of mine at the table just a few metres from me.

I hated how there was barely any privacy here. The very fact these two could see me sleeping sent shivers down my spine.

It pissed me off.

I called the supervisor on my phone and asked him if there was some sort of partition available so that I could block their view. Then I would be able to rest peacefully.

The supervisor could understand my situation and so he said he would send some janitors to my room with the partitions.

I thanked him and he said it's only his job. Cool guy.

A few minutes later, someone knocked on our door. The girl ran to open it, and saw two janitors holding some large curtain-like partitions.

She looked at them in a confused manner.

"Excuse me, what is-"

"Thank you, uncles," I said as I grabbed the partitions from them.

They nodded and left.

I carried them to my bed and started placing them around my bed.

Perfect. Now I can sleep peacefully.

The girl and the guy, who were my roommates looked confused. I didn't care what they thought and pushed the curtain aside and entered the little private sleeping space I had created and laid down on my bed. Ah, this is relaxing.

The partions were basically like large rectangles in which you hang curtains on. They served their purpose really well.

I opened my eyes slowly, and realised that I had slept for an hour so when I checked the time.

I was pretty tired huh?

I opened the curtain and exited my private sleeping space, or PSS. That sounded stupid. I apologise.

The guy was nowhere to be seen. But the girl was still at the table, using her phone.

"Hey there, I'm daisy. I didn't get to tell you my name earlier," She said.

"Hm," I grunted in response, not making eye contact.

I totally forgot that westerners have a big mouth which doesn't shut up. Most people aren't like this back in my country. Am I assuming that she's a westerner? Yeah I am. She sounds American, so it's pretty obvious.

You could say that me and westerners, or talkative people in general are like oil and water. We don't go together.

"It seems we could roam around today and take a look at campus and other stuff on this island. Classes start from tomorrow," she said.

"Hm," I grunted again in response as I checked the college app on my phone.

I wanted to check the facilities outside if there's a gym, restaurant etc. I wouldn't be surprised if there was stuff like that here.

So I walked over to my room's door as I heard her speak.

"You ordered some extra curtain thingies didn't you?" She asked, looking over to the extra partitions leaning on the wall. "Did you get it for me?"

I just walked out the door and closed it behind me. Talking with new people is a pain. Especially when they're foreigners. I didn't have that much of a problem back in my country.

"Isn't he a gentleman," daisy joked to herself, smiling.
