Chapter 78 - Olivia's Struggle

I raise the device to my face.

I was still on top of Parker.

I'm shaking with nerves as I try to figure out how to disable security to get out.

What am I supposed to do with this? My pounding heart doesn’t let up.

He stirs from his slumber. Couldn’t he fall asleep for more than five minutes? Is that too much to ask?!

I bite my lips as panic sets in. I push all the buttons on it frantically - the device beeps.

What does that mean?! I slipped the device back into his pocket just as he started to wake. I sling my head back to his chest and close my eyes. Hoping that he doesn’t notice anything amiss.

He does.

“Are you snooping?” he said menacingly. He gripped my arm.

“No, no…” I shook my head.

He narrowed his eyes. The next thing I know, he has my hair pulled painfully back. He quickly maneuvered, pushing me against the couch. Essentially pinning me down.
