Seeing how Lily just accepted the situation without complaint and did not ask him anything, Zero felt as if something within him just burst open and filled him up with such warmth and love that he had never had before.
It was as if a dam had broken and the water gushed out.
Yes, he was rather indifferent but it wasn't as if he was completely emotionless. He had Sir, his brotherhood, Lianne, and yes, Lily. All of which gave him feelings and experiences that were not the same.
With Sir, it was extreme respect and loyalty.
With his brotherhood, it was almost the same but at a *slightly* lower intensity.
With Lianne, it was the sense of closeness and protectiveness.
With Lily … well, Lily was the first that stirred him in a way that could not be expressed. It was love and the closest thing to love that he will ever know or experience. And he knew, he would never feel for anyone else the way he felt for Lily.
