Silas and Juliet were shocked by the ongoing situation. Karvon had a smile on his face as he dismissed the scythe in his hand. Silas was too slow, before he could move a punch landed on his stomach.
Silas felt a sharp pain in his head as blood spurted out of his mouth.
"Stop!!" Juliet jumped to stop Karvon but he glanced at her, his bright red eyes met with hers and she instantly felt a pressure that pressed her to the ground.
The air around her got heavy just from Karvon looking at her and then he smiled as he floated back down to the ground. Silas groaned in pain as he stood up from the ground and looked at Silas.
"I've been wanting to do that since I came back. That is for turning your back on your allies during the final battle," Karvon said in a cold tone and Silas felt his legs being weak and he couldn't even react.
"He doesn't even have his memories. Even Dian has hope for him to be better this time around," Juliet said as she walked over to Silas and helped him up.
"At least I got to cause him some pain before he recovers his memories." Karvon shrugged and Juliet placed a hand on Silas' stomach and golden chi from her hand flowed into his stomach, soon his expression became calmer and the pain slowly faded away.
"What was that for?" Silas asked as he slowly stood up.
'NPCs are just too realistic sometimes. I haven't done a memory dive so I don't quite understand what he meant by that.' Silas thought as he picked up his sword on the ground before sending it into his storage space.
They stayed there to rest for a while and Silas questioned Juliet about the previous king of hell traits, his past self's traits.
"You'll know everything once you begin diving into your memory." Juliet replied flatly before she walked towards the exit of the room.
…
"One more thing before we leave the crypts," Silas said as he halted his steps.
They were now back at the 'T' junction where one side led to the room of Death's shadow while the other side led to the demonic leviathan which Karvon said they should stay away from.
Both Juliet and Karvon looked at him with a raised brow and a frown as the smile on Silas' told them it wasn't something pleasant that was left to do.
"Let's see what the demonic leviathan looks like," Silas said with a smile and then Karvon sighed tiredly.
"You don't know how dangerous it is, just wait till you recover all of your memories." Karvon said and then let out a low grunt.
"Just to look at it, nothing else." Silas said as he began walking to the other side where he was told not to go to and Karvon and Juliet sighed as they followed after Silas.
"The serpent doesn't attack people who doesn't hold chi, right?" Juliet said to Karvon and he frowned.
"We'll see about that soon enough. Sooner than you think," Karvon said with an evil grin on his face and Juliet looked worried for him.
"I know both of you have been rivals for a very long time, but can you drop it already. It's been four hundred thousand years, just let it go. Let's just focus on hell's goal for now."
Karvon looked at Juliet as she said that and he frowned as he looked at Silas. As he looked at Silas he saw the image of a man with glowing red eyes surrounded by a demonic aura, wielding a bloodied sword on a pile of bodies.
Karvon sighed and then smiled at Minova. Out of all of Silas' former companions, she was the one who suffered the most.
'She wouldn't even want to go back to the Daili even if she was begged. The horrible things she went through in that place… If she can put all that away to make hell's goal fulfilled, then I guess I can let our rivalry sit aside too,' Karvon thought before he let out a deep breath.
Soon, the trio reached the entrance to a cave that goes way low into the ground. Silas looked down and saw a ginormous snake which was asleep. Its obsidian scales glistened under the rays of the caves crystal ceiling lights.
From all the way above Silas could tell that the snake was more than 700 metres long and 100 metres wide. It had horns like a dragon and short spikes running down its back all the way to its tail.
"This is the demonic leviathan that was your companion in the battle with the heavens centuries ago," Karvon said and Silas was really excited to see a creature so beautiful and majestic. He fell in love at first sight.
"Are there any other demonic leviathans in hell?" Silas asked Karvon and he nodded.
"There are four other demonic leviathans but they are all far away from the sanctuary."
"Demonic leviathans are at the peak of monsters in hell and are very powerful. Cultivators refer to their powerful creatures as divine beasts and they kill the beats off for cultivation resources. In hell, we cherish our leviathans as they do come around in times of crisis," Juliet said and Silas nodded.
'I really have to increase my cultivation as soon as possible. Not only would I get stronger, I would also gain these memories of the former devil.' Silas thought as he turned around to leave.
All of a sudden, the trio feels an over whelming pressure coming from behind and Karvon's eyes widened as he felt the pressure.
Silas instinctively looked back and there he saw the demonic leviathan staring down at him with its brightly glowing eyes. Just by looking into those eyes, an unfathomable pressure fell upon him and he suddenly saw himself alone with the towering serpent.
'What is this?' Silas thought as he couldn't move and his heart was beating extremely fast.
'T… this is… fear.' Silas recognized the feeling and then the snake turned around and went away and the surroundings went back to normal.
Silas clutched his chest as he took deep breaths.
'What sort of power is that? I couldn't even breathe.' Silas thought as his gaze went back into the cave of the serpent.
At that moment he felt like he could die if the snake continued to look at him like that. One thing was for sure, whatever level the snake was on, Silas was far from it.
