Last Kiss

Sitting down inside a carriage, Genji was looking out the window with a wry smile in face, ignoring the sparks within the carriage.

Suki, Toph, and Azula were all staring at each other, sparks flying everywhere. Something which was pretty weird since Toph is blind.

Even when Toph and Azula became friends, there was still that rivalry between them.

Cough! Cough!

An intense coughing fit captured Suki by surprise and Genji quickly turned to her in worry.

Covering her mouth with a handkerchief, Suki continued to cough in pain.

Once the coughing ended, Suki felt some pain in her throat causing her to look at her handkerchief in curiosity.

With blood adorning the handkerchief, Suki revealed a worried look on her pale face. Her eyebrows furrowed and before she could close her eyes and silently grieve, she felt a warm hand holding onto her's.

"It's okay," muttered Genji as he began to pour his Chi into Suki's body.

He made use of the healing properties of water bending and tried imbuing it into the Chi before slowly moving it in her body like a wave. Then, as if knowing what was happening, the Chi within Suki's body began to mimic Genji's chi.

"Thank you," muttered Suki weakly as she held tightly to Genji's hand before resting her head on Genji's shoulder.

With a complicated look on his face, Genji turned to look at Azula and Toph who looked at the entire thing happening with gloomy looks.

"Ahem… I know this may not be the best moment to say this, but I have a confession to make," said Genji, his eyes turning to look at Toph momentarily before turning to look at Suki and Azula.

With a serious look in his eyes, Genji took a deep breath before opening his mouth.

When Genji first began this trip of his, he believed that he would be having such a nice and carefree journey in attaining his peaceful 'retirement' home.

It was such a naive thought that never set sail smoothly the instant he began to gain strength and interact with the main characters of this world and time period.

Now, things were progressing differently and Genji was now traveling with a different mentality. It was the same goal, but now he was doing it for a different purpose.

To keep his future family safe.

Now, in order to get this future family of his safe, Genji needs their full trust, and to do that, he needs to tell them about how he could bend the four elements.

Azula and Suki's eyes widened in disbelief, Toph just nodded her head with a smirk on her face.

"But… only the avatar can do that…" said Suki, a frown appearing on her pale face.

"…"

Azula glared at Genji, her eyes drilling holes into his head.

"Only the avatar and I could do it," said Genji, shifting uncomfortably on the chair as he felt Azula's glare. "I have a special body, one that has four sets of Chi pathways that don't intersect."

This was the most 'reasonable' explanation Genji had regarding his body that was modified by the system. Unlike the Avatar who was able to bend the elements because he had merged with a spirit, Genji being able to bend the four elements was more due to a physical mutation.

The avatar being able to bend more than one element was only possible because of a high spirit like Raava maintaining the four elemental chakras within the body forcibly opened and protecting the body.

"So you could bend the four elements this whole time?" Suki began glaring at Genji as she remembered how they had first met. "Did you lie to me? Are you even really from the southern water tribe?! Where did you really come from when you were stranded on Kyoshi Island?"

Suki pushed Genji and backed away from him, sitting all the way on the other side of the seat, which wasn't too far since they were in a carriage.

Smiling wryly, Genji sighed and laid back before saying, "I… have another secret I should say now."

"More secrets? You hide them well…" muttered Azula in a cold tone.

Even Toph jumped a little this time when she realized that the only secret she knew was him being able to bend the four elements.

"I'm not from this world," said Genji, looking at the girls with a serious look in his eyes.

"So, what are you? A spirit?" Toph curiously asked.

Genji chuckled a little, arousing no amusement from Azula or Suki. Toph smiled a bit, but she stayed quiet as she offered an ear, willing to listen to Genji.

From there, Genji began to describe his world.

Earth.

A large place with no benders or spirits to be seen in the entirety of the world. Nothing mystical or magical to be seen.

Even the animals weren't fusions like they were in the Avatar World.

No dragons.

No Chi.

Genji continued talking and then began to explain phones, televisions, video games…

The more Genji talked, the more the three girls began to slowly believe Genji's story.

During this entire thing, Genji kept one thing out of the entirety of his explanation, the existence of comics and a cartoon of their lives and especially the avatars.

"Then, who are you?" asked Suki, a complicated look on her face.

She felt betrayed by Genji.

She slept with him and has a baby with him.

She loved him.

"I'm Genji," said Genji with full confidence.

"What's your past? Who are you truly? How did you get here?" asked Azula, her tone no longer as cold as before.

At Azula's questions, Genji was about to answer in full confidence, only to suddenly pause in confusion.

"I-! … I…" Genji placed a hand on his forehead as he tried remembering his past.

But the more he tried, the more it continued to slip away from his grasp. It was like trying to hold water in his hands.

It continued to slip away.

"Who… am I?" Genji asked himself, a lost look on his face.

Azula narrowed her eyes and said, "You-"

"Stop!"

However, before she could say anything, Toph had interrupted Azula before turning to Genji. Although she can't see him, she could feel his heartbeat through his hand and hear his shaky voice.

"Genji, do you not remember your past?" asked Toph.

Genji furrowed his eyebrows, "… I don't… the more I try to remember, the more I seem to forget."

"What DO you remember?" Azula asked, finally realizing what was happening.

"My name, that's the only thing I remember," said Genji as a tired look appeared on his face as he stopped trying to remember his past.

"What else?" asked Toph, holding tightly onto Genji's hand, concern written on her face.

"I… I appeared on a boat. Zuko's boat, after that, I tried living my new life. At first I decided to follow Zuko, see where life would take me, but then some stuff happened and I wound up learning that I had the ability to Firebend.

Then, there were some complications and I ended up in the sea. Where I eventually ended up stranded on Kyoshi Island, where I met Suki," said Genji before turning to gaze at Suki who continued to ignore his gaze. "I ended up hiding the fact that I could Firebend because I knew that the entire world hated Firebenders.

From there, I traveled to the Fire Nation to learn more about fire Nation… from there, you all know what happened…"

Azula nodded a little and remembered how when she first saw him, she found him in a tournament.

Toph subtly nodded, a little confused.

"Hmph… well I don't have much of a problem with you," said Azula as she looked at Genji with an amused look on her face. "I was only a little dissatisfied at how you were hiding secrets from me."

"I'm completely alright," said Toph with a proud smile.

Something which made Azula roll her eyes before frowning at seeing Toph holding Genji's hand.

Turning to look at Suki, Genji was hoping that she would at least forgive him a little. Yet she stayed quiet, not a single word coming out of her mouth.

"What do you plan to do now?" asked Azula, turning to look at Suki with a light in her eyes.

"Right now?"

It was then that Genji recalled everything that happened in the spirit world. Anger surged in his heart and his face turned cold.

"Kill the dark spirits and save my baby," said Genji in a serious tone as he let out a little of his killing intent.

A tone that sent shivers down the backs of the three girls.

Azula blushed and she looked at Genji with a somewhat excited gaze. A potent fire burned within her eyes as she looked at Genji hungrily.

Toph smiled a little and squeezed Genji's hands.

"Genji…"

In the most tiny, inaudible whisper, Genji heard Suki say his name. He turned his head to look at her and saw her shoulders slightly shaking.

'She's crying…' thought Genji as he looked at Suki with an aching heart. 'Fuck… I'm such an ass.'

Genji felt his right hand twitch but quickly repressed the wish to caress Suki's back as he wished to give her some time to digest everything.

***

A couple of hours passed and the group finally made it to the edge of the Earth Kingdom where they arrived at a port.

There, a large ship waited for them, ready to take them to the Northern Water Tribe.

With the carriage coming to a halt, everyone was beginning to get off.

The first to stand up was Suki, ready to leave the carriage in an instant. Which was going to happen, until Genji's hand gently held her wrist and pulled her back.

"What are-"

Suki was about to say something when Genji suddenly sealed Suki's lips with a kiss. His eyes signaling to a smirking Azula to leave with a confused Toph.

Once they got off, Genji stopped kissing Suki and was prepared for a slap, but was instead surprised to find her glaring at him with watery eyes.

"Suki…" said Genji, a worried look on his face.

Closing her eyes, Suki turned away from him in emotional pain.

Sighing, Genji turned serious and said Suki's name, this time in a firm tone.

"Suki."

Suki flinched and slowly turned to face Genji, her head still hanging low as she faced him.

"Look at me Suki," said Genji as he got close to Suki. "Look at me in the eyes."

Suki kept her head down for a couple of seconds before slowly lifting her head, her eyes slowly moving up to look into his eyes.

"Tell me Suki, do you hate me?"

"I-"

"DO you hate me, Suki?"

Genji's gaze narrowed as Suki was about to answer with anything but a yes or no answer.

Biting her lip, Suki furrowed her eyebrows before turning her head away, answering, "No."

"Then tell me, Suki, why do you wish to distance yourself from me."

"I-"

"Are you aware that the world hates the Fire Nation? Are you aware that Kyoshi Island ALSO hates the Fire Nation? Ready to kill and get rid of any person from the Fire Nation?"

"Yes-"

"Then what would you have done to me if I told you I came from the Fire Nation? That I could Firebend?"

"I… I would…"

"You would have killed me."

"You could have told me later! Before you left!"

Genji shook his head and grabbed Suki's shoulders, his eyes staring into her's. Slowly pulling her into a hug.

"I couldn't do it. I didn't wish to ruin the future," said Genji as he caressed Suki's back.

"…"

Suki remained quiet as she listened to Genji.

Meanwhile, Genji was feeling a little bad for telling Suki a white lie.

'Ruin the future' was true for him at that moment of time in the past. He wished to live peacefully and not enter into a relationship.

To not 'ruin' the future, Genji couldn't tell Suki about anything. He wished for them to just be sex friends…

That was before he found out she was pregnant.

Now, Genji was filled with this responsibility. Joy within him as he knew that he had a child of his own. However, at the same time, he was filled with fear towards what his child might think of him if they never met him.

It was then that Genji also began to worry about Suki, at first it was only because she was the mother of his child, and still pregnant.

But slowly, Genji's feelings for her slowly began to change as he yearned to see her.

Genji furrowed his eyebrows, before revealing a resolute look in his eyes.

"Suki!"

Pushing Suki back a little, Genji stared into her eyes with a kind gaze and said, "I love you. I wish to raise our baby together."

"Gen-"

With a swift movement, Genji quickly placed his hand over her mouth before smiling at her.

"I know we can't be together because of Azula and Toph, but I will do my best to be there for our baby," said Genji before slowly removing his hand from her mouth.

Just before Suki could attempt to say anything else, Genji kissed her once more, this time more lovingly than ever before.

"Mmh…"

Suki clenched her hands and a blushed formed on her slightly pale face as she felt that electrifying kiss. Their tongues hugging each other after Genji's tongue slipped into her mouth.

"Ngh! Ah… hah…"

"That… will be our last kiss together," said Genji with a small sad smile before running his thumb over Suki's pink lips.

With a shake of his head, Genji got off the carriage, leaving behind a stunned Suki with a blush on her face.

"You stupid fool…" muttered Suki as she watched Genji leave, her heart aching for him.
