The Grand Escape

*SCREEECH!*

Jeremy's car pulled up in front of the largest house in Safari City, a house Adriana only imagined she would step foot in in her wildest dreams.

"Hey, Adriana. We are at the Chateau, come on I have an appointment I have to get to" He announced as he pulled open the car door for her. She hadn't had the time to inspect the brother's earlier but she had taken her time studying Jeremy on the rearview mirror in the car on their rude here.

Jeremy was a blond unlike his brothers who both had dark hair, he was also the shortest of the three although he stood at an impressive six foot one inch height. He had bright blue eyes and seemed to prefer UK Rap as it was all that he played on the ride.

"Where will I be staying again?" She asked him as they both were ushered into the house by the servants.

"You will be staying in the Blue Room, it's just opposite Betty's room and it has the best view of the pool although it also has solid bars over the windows and is soundproofed and the door can only be brought down by perhaps a charging Rhinoceros" Jeremy gave her an apologetic smile and she nodded in understanding, she was feeling somewhat guilty already knowing he would be blamed if she ran away.

"Thank you, you've been so very kind to me. Since you have an appointment you can get going and tell someone to escort me to my room" She asked with a gratified smile plastered on her face, at least it wasn't entirely fake.

"Oh that's a good idea. Miss Grundy, could you escort my friend over here to the Blue Room" Jeremy asked the old lady who ushered them into the house and she nodded eagerly.

"Lock her in, we don't want a visitor walking around the house in the middle of the night right?" Jeremy tried to whisper to the old lady but Adriana heard every word.

"I'll be back tomorrow with my brothers and a lawyer, then we'll head over to the church" Jeremy called out before heading back out to his car.

"I'll escort you to your room Miss..."

"My name is Adriana, you don't have to add the Miss" She smiled as she spoke to the woman trying to get her to let down her guard.

"Alright Ariana, your room is this way. It is opposite Miss Betty's room"

"Who's Miss Betty?" She asked in curiosity.

"She's the last child of the Friedman Family, the masters love her more than anything and as expected she is a bit spoiled" Miss Grundy as most housekeepers had a lot of spicy gossip and she was happy to offload her bags of gossip on Adriana.

"Wow she sounds like a handful" Adriana replied politely.

"So earlier, I overheard Master Jeremy talking to you about lawyers and church. Are you and him getting married?"

"Me? A girl from the Southside marry an Upstate billionaire? I think not. It's nothing that fancy, just some business stuff"

"Oh okay, here is your room. I'll send someone up with refreshments for the night. Is there anything specific you want?" Grundy bent over to tuck in the sheets properly and Adriana knew her chance had come.

She balled her hands into fists and raised them up high like a sledgehammer.

*Bam*

"Aah!"

Grundy squealed in pain as Adriana struck her hard from behind but she wasn't quite out yet.

"What-!?" Her statement was interrupted by Adriana speedily chucking her handkerchief into her mouth.

"If you keep quiet then I won't have to knock you out" Adriana warned her and she nodded in understanding.

"Get up and get into the bathroom" She pulled the housekeeper up and pushed her into the bathroom. In what seemed like a minute she had tied her feet and hands behind her back and tied the handkerchief around her mouth.

"You can moan all you want lady but Jeremy said this room was soundproofed. When you're found tomorrow tell the Friedman Brothers that I'm not getting caught up in all of this" She exited the bathroom and locked Grundy in. She took a deep shaky breath as she thought out her next course of action.

"Miss Grundy? Who's there?"

Adriana's skin nearly jumped off her skeleton as she heard a girl's voice from behind her. She turned around to come face to face with a scared looking girl probably around fourteen years old.

"Who are you?" She asked while keeping one eye on the door in case she had to run out and inform the house of an intruder.

"I'm Adriana, Jeremy brought me here. You must be Betty, nice to meet you" She spoke nervously as she reached out to shake the teenager.

"Umm... How do you know him?" Betty eyed her hand warily and kept her hands folded across her chest.

"It's one of the strangest of stories but I promise to tell you tomorrow. I've had a busy day and I have to get some sleep so why don't you head back to your room" Adriana replied somewhat saucily in retaliation for leaving her hand hanging.

"I know how you look like in case you're not who you claim you are" Betty warned in a not very nice tone before flouncing out of the room and banging the door shut behind her.

"Hah, crazy little demon almost gave me a heart attack" She sighed as she placed her hand on her chest to feel her heartbeat.

"I guess I have to get out of here now" She pushed open the door slowly and was glad it made no noise. Her memory was quite good and she remembered exactly how she got there and a few minutes later she was back at the front door.

'Most if not all of the servants are asleep but those security men will definitely spot me if I try to run across the front yard to the gates, besides those dogs look very feral' She thought to herself as she watched the dogs play around lazily in their cage.

She waited for what seemed like hours but was actually just thirty minutes as displayed by the large clock above the front door. A black sports car pulled up in front of the house and the guards quickly opened the gates to let it in.

She watched and waited as the driver pulled up right before the front door.

'Fuck! It's Hayden!" She cursed as she watched him step out of the car while arguing with someone on the phone. He slammed the door shut and Adriana noticed his car keys falling from his hands as he tried to shift the phone from his right to his left.

"No Leila, it's just a temporary thing! Hunter is trying to avoid more casualties and punish me at the same time.... Of course I won't stop seeing you... I don't love her Leile, heck! I've never even met her before today... Her ex boyfriend was a thug for the Greenberg Family, he was threatening us and was about to pull the trigger on Jeremy,vi did what I had to do!" Hayden kept on yelling explanations into his phone as he passed Adriana who was hidden in a dark corner.

'That's probably the mistress he talked about earlier. If he gets upstairs and checks around he'll probably find Miss Grundy in the toilet and it won't take any time at all to alert the whole compound to my presence'

'Now is my chance to get out of here. Those guards seem reluctant to close the gates until they change shifts so I might as well take my chance' She skunk out of the shadows quietly, grateful for once that she was wearing trainers and picked up Hayden's car keys as quietly as possible.

She got into the car and shut the door quietly as the dogs had stopped playing lazily were now all staring at the car. Not missing a beat, she stabbed the keys into the ignition and floored the accelerator pedal.

The dogs all began barking in terrific pitches and the emergency alarm came on.

"Shut the gates! Shut the gates!" The guards kept on yelling as they all went for their guns but they were too late as she was already through the gates and banking hard right to get out of view of the guards.

"Woo! I wouldn't have made it if not for the speed of this car. It covered that entire distance in seconds, that's unimaginable. Thank you Hayden Friedman at least I got a new car from all this madness" she laughed crazily as she got on the highway and drove straight to the Southside of Safari City, the only place she could escape the heat that would be on her the next day.

*SCREEECH!*

She pulled up in front of the ramshackle apartment she called home and hurried up the stairs. Immediately she got behind her doors she proceeded to lock up every access point to her apartment and slowly found her way back to her tiny room.

Feeling tired from all the drama of the night she fell into her bed by 2am but only realized how big of a blunder she made a second before she fell asleep and she knew, even as she dreamt of chocolate castles and dining with the elite, she knew she would wake up to the sound of the Friedman guards kicking in her door.
