[Wednesday, Lesson 3 - Science]
Science was one of those lessons where we are all back together for some reason, don't know how it worked out like this but it did. The worst part about science is we are always put at other ends of the room.
We used to sit next to each other but because of Sean messing up an experiment and burning off the teacher's eyebrows, we were forced to be separated. We've tried convincing them why we should be allowed to sit next to each other. Buy, according to the teacher, no condition forces me to have to be near Ethan at all times, when he saw my doctor's note the following day he just burnt it in front of me. I don't remember what it said fully but I think it was something like this.
"Dear Mr Teacher Person.
I'm writing because my favourite ill person, Owen, informs me that you are treating him unfairly by separating him from his loved ones. If I was his mother I would probably hit you with something, but as a mature person, I can only imagine hitting you. Wack. HA. how did you like that?
Anyway, Back to the point. Owen has an illness called 'Living'. I know, just hearing the name can bring a tear to your eye. Just by writing this now, I'm drowning in my tears from thinking about how such a wonderful young boy will be taken from us. And yes, I know you are wondering; these tears are very salty.
All I ask of you teacher is please let this boy sit near his friends, it hurts both him and me when he doesn't sit near them. It's hard for us adults to do anything about these illnesses, if only we had a doctor who knew about this stuff. Oh Wait, That's me!
Ignore that last part I forgot I was meant to be a doctor. What do you mean I should cross it out? Why should I stop writing? I can't cross this out I've engraved it onto this piece of wood. I know, it is impressive how I can speak to you and write at the same time. NO... STOP…. YOU WILL NOT TAKE THIS AWAY FROM ME…. NO, I'M HANDING IT IN… HA, I GOT IT BACK… NOW THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP ME."
I wonder why the note didn't work, honestly, it was a believable note. We spent ages trying to find someone to write that note for us, and he just burnt it. I guess it was written on very flammable wood, like really flammable. That thing went up. He even set the fire alarm off. At least the teacher got in trouble for setting off the fire alarm.
We've been separated for long enough now to have developed a system to talk to each other. That's right, we have learnt morse code. Every time we have science we communicate by dots and dashes. Every time someone is talkingg in class, that's when one of us taps their pen and the other translates it.
I'll spare you the Dots and Dashes and translate to you all what it means.
"Anyone… Watch… TV… Yesterday…. Night…" Ethan tapped out
"What... " Sean replied quickly
"...TV…"
"What… was… on…" I replied
"....." There was a pause on the taps
"...That ONE Show…. With… The …. Woman...."
"YE….I….DID" Sean replied, with force. I'm guessing he got excited.
We all went silent after that, Sean's tapping was too loud we were worried it would alert the teacher who has always been suspicious of us.
"Why… No…. Responses…." Sean was now depressed from us ghosting him and has resorted to double-tapping.
"Cause… You… Idiot…" Ethan is as harsh as ever.
"....K…."
It seemed like Sean was now embracing the fact that he is an idiot. Maybe we can finally have world peace.
"....Why….you….rude…"
Never mind Sean was pissed
"H..U...H…?"
I'm staying out of this, these two idiots can morse all they want. I'll just carry on translating for you all.
"You...Rude...To...Me"
"H...U...H…??"
"YOU…RUDE...TO….ME"
Sean's tapping was getting more and more furious. Who knows when the table will give in and snap in half from his giant's strength?
"H….U….H...." Ethan wasn't helping either as he fueled the flame.
"STOP… BEING… IDIOT… USE… WORD… DUMMY…"
"..."
"HA….TOO...SCARED... TO...REPLY...I….WIN…"
No Sean, you may have won the battle but you didn't win the war. Sean hadn't noticed that his tapping was too loud and that everyone in the class was looking directly at him.
Sean was sent out for the rest of the lesson while Ethan and I gave up trying to talk either, guess we need to find another method of communicating now.
For me, science was something I enjoyed, maybe because I was good at it. Just like these three, I was seated on the other side of the room whilst all my friends were put on the same table, the only thing I could do was study.
