Chapter 9 Party

On our way to my house, we stopped at Stacy's house then Samantha's house to get their necessary items for the sleep-over and clothes for school the next day. After, we then drove to my house.

When we got to my house, I jumped out of the car and walked up to my front door. I unlock the door with my key. I went into the living room with the girls behind me. "Mom, I'm home!" I yelled.

My mom came out of the kitchen with an apron tied around her waist, "Hey sweetie, how was school?"

"School was great. The usual." I said "Where is everyone? I didn't see Dad's and Andrew's car out front."

"Your father is working late today, Andrew took Kristin out and Jason is in his room sleeping." My mom looked behind me at Stacy. "Hello Stacy and who is this?" She asked looking at Samantha. Oh, I almost forgot that she did not know Samantha, as it was the first time she is coming over.

"Oh Mom, this is my new friend Samantha. She is new at school." I said introducing Sam.

"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Miller." Sam said and extended her hand.

My mom ignored it and pulled her in a tight hug, "It's nice to meet you too dear." My mom pulled back and smiled at Sam. She turned to me and smiled, "I'm baking cupcakes."

"That's why I love you." I said and turned to head upstairs.

My mom put her hand on her chest and fake gasped, "Is that the only reason?"

"Of course not Mom." I said smiling at her.

My mom chuckled and head back to the kitchen waving her hand, "Go ahead dear. I'll call you girls when dinner is ready."

"Okay." I said and head upstairs, "Come on." I said to my friends.

We went into my room and I throw my bag in a corner and flopped on my bed. Stacy did the same and came on the right side of my bed.

"I like your mom. She is nice." Sam said and looked around my room, "So what are we going to do?" She asked sitting down on my bed.

"We could watch a movie." Stacy suggested.

"That's a great idea." I said. I got up off my bed and grabbed my laptop from the floor. I turned it on and search for a good movie to watch. "How about Blended?" I asked.

"Never heard of it, but let's watch it." Sam said.

"Really?" Stacy said and Sam nodded her head, "Well it's really good."

Soon after, all three of us were on my bed. I was in the middle holding the laptop on my lap so all three of us could see.

When the movie was finished, we were in my room joking around and laughing when there was a knock on my room door. I opened it to see my little brother.

"Dinner is ready, Lexie." He said smiling at me.

"Thanks buddy." I said ruffling his hair.

Sam came up behind me, "And who is this cute little guy?" She asked smiling at Jason.

Jason giggled, "I'm Jason." He said.

"Well hello Jason, I'm Samantha. It's so nice to meet you." Samantha said pinching his cheek. Jason blushed and giggled.

"Lexie, all your friends are nice." He whispered and then pulled on my hand.

"Yes they are." I said agreeing with him. I followed Jason to the kitchen to help my mom set the table. I brought a plate to the table and I saw my dad sitting down. "Hey Dad." I said and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey Pumpkin. How was school today?" He asked.

"It was great." I said smiling. I point at Samantha as she came out of the kitchen, "Dad this is Samantha, my new friend." I said.

"Hey Samantha, how are you?" My dad asked smiling at her.

"I'm good." Sam replied.

"Good to hear. Come on, sit down and make yourself at home. Any friend of Lexie is a friend of ours." Dad said giving her a smile.

My mom and Stacy came out of the kitchen carrying the last plates and placed them on the table. Then we all sat down and eat dinner.

It was now Friday and I was in my room being tortured by the girls as we get ready for the party. Samantha just curled my hair a few minutes ago and now Stacy was doing my makeup.

"Come on guys, I don't know why you are over doing yourselves. It's just a party." I said to the girls.

Sam gave me a look, "Just a party? Are you even hearing yourself? This is practically the first party we have ever been to. We have to at least look nice." She said.

I rolled my eyes at her, "Whatever."

One hour later, we were all ready and was looking at ourselves in my full length mirror.

"I got to say, we look pretty hot." I said beaming at myself in the mirror.

"I know." Stacy said giggling. Sam nodded in agreement.

We took up our purses and headed downstairs. When we reached the living room, I saw Andrew sitting on the couch watching TV. He looked up when he saw us.

"Wow! You guys look great." He said.

"Thanks." I replied. "Anyway we are leaving now. See you later."

He looked at me with a serious expression. "Be careful, don't take any drink from anyone and only drink from a sealed bottle. You hear me?" He warned.

"Aye, aye captain." I said saluting him.

"I'm serious, Lexie." Andrew said narrowing his eyes at me.

"Yes Andrew, I will. Thanks." I said to my over protective brother.

He nodded and we headed to the front door and to Stacy's car. I sat in the front and Samantha took the back seat. I buckled my seat belt while Stacy pulled out onto the road.

We took twenty minutes to get to the address that Ashton gave Stacy. When we pulled up to the front of the house, we could hear loud music playing from inside. Stacy stopped the car and we got out.

The party was already in full swing because there were people already drunk and were passed out on the lawn. There were empty red solo cups everywhere and there was a boy throwing up in a flower pot. Ashton sure has a lot of work to do tomorrow. I don't understand why someone would drink if they are going to feel this way in the end.

We reached the front door and opened it. The music was much louder inside and the room was packed with sweaty bodies. Miley Cyrus's We Can't Stop was blasting from the speakers and people were dancing to the beat. Some people were grinding on each other and some were making out in the corner of the room.

"Let's get something to drink." Stacy shouted over the music. We nodded our head and made our way to the kitchen. Once in the kitchen, we saw Ashton and one of his friend, Ryder, having a drink and talking. Ashton looked up and smiled when he saw us.

"Hey girls. I'm so glad you made it." He said walking over to us.

"Thanks for inviting us." Stacy acknowledged.

"So you girls want something to drink?" Ryder said coming over to us as well.

"Yeah, just diet coke." Sam said.

"Oh come on. Live a little." Ryder said winking at us.

"No thanks, just the three diet cokes, please." Stacy said to him.

"You girls are no fun." He said walking to the cooler to get us our drink.

"Don't pay him any attention. That is how he is." Ashton said to us.

Just as Ryder came back with our drinks, Stacy grabbed mine and Sam's hand. "Come on girls. Let's go dance." She pulled us until we were back on the dance floor.

I heard one of my favourite songs came on and I started moving to the beat. After a few more beats, the girls and I was dancing and having fun. When the song ended, I was tired. I have never had so much fun in my entire life. I turned around and I noticed Josh at the far corner of the room watching me. What is up with this dude?

When he saw that I caught him staring, he turned back around and continued dancing with Erica, who had her hands all over his body. They were so sickening, I wanted to gag.

I turned to the girls and shouted over the loud noise, "I'm going outside to get some fresh air. I'll be right back." They both nodded at me.

I squeezed through the bodies of people and headed to the back door. I pulled the door opened and went and leaned on the porch railing. There was not much people out here and it was much quieter. I closed my eyes and took in the fresh air.

"I'm surprised to see you here." I heard a voice say behind me. I turned my head and saw Josh standing behind me. I was so engrossed that I didn't even hear the door being opened.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked.

He smirked. "You know, you being a nerd and all."

"I am not a nerd. It's not good to judge." I huffed.

"Whatever Cupcake." He said coming to stand beside me. He was standing way too close to me that I was feeling his body heat. I was getting very uncomfortable with my thoughts.

"What do you want, Josh?" I asked irritated at him to disturb my peace. I didn't understand him, the last time I saw him, he was running me from his house, now he was here talking to me again.

"I saw you enjoying yourself out there." He said shrugging his shoulders.

"Yeah, so?" I said looking at him.

"I didn't know you could dance like that." He said looking at me from head to toe, "You've got moves, Cupcake."

"Yeah well, I came to a party, so enjoy myself, I will." I said. "By the way, would you stop with the nickname?"

He just smirked at me and shoved his hands into his jacket pocket. I turned around and looked out at the back yard, ignoring him. He was quiet for a few minutes until he spoke again.

"Since you left my house I haven't seen or heard from you. Did you forget our assignment?" He asked.

I sighed, "No, of course not. I was just giving you time, given what is going on at home." I said without thinking.

He looked at me and I saw his blue eyes getting dark with fury, "What's going on at home is none of your business." He said in a hard tone. His teeth was clenched and his jaw set.

I put my hands up in surrender. "Listen." I said trying to calm him down. "I didn't mean that. It just came out wrong. No need to blow up in my face."

He looked at me for five second and then he started to relax, "I'm going back inside. I need another drink." He muttered to himself and then he turned around and went back inside.

I looked at his retreating figure and shook my head. This boy is weird. I just can't understand him.

Five minutes later, I heard the door being pulled again. I thought it was Josh, so I did not bother looking around. I was just about to say something to him, when the person spoke up.

"Hello Alexandra. Looking sexy as ever." When I heard the voice, I froze. I know that voice anywhere. I slowly turned around to come face to face with the person I wished to never see again.

Standing in front of me was none other than my ex-boyfriend, Troy Wilson with a smirk firmly planted on his face.
